Decent location- situated at the lower end of one of the main streets so you're close enough to the main squares (10 min walk along a straight street) but far enough away from the hustle and bustle.

The hostel is ok, but the service is not as ok. Stayed there 3 nights. hot showers don't work properly.
They propose you some camping gear at very high price (you would better try in the city centre).
They charge you for using the kitchen....More
Neat place in a quiet lane near the old Temple of Koricancha but away from the touristy area. Also near the bus depot for the train to Machu Pichu. And supermarket and food places etc.

I think hostels should have a different rating system than hotels, since it's not fair to judge a hostel under the same conditions as you'd expect in a modern hotel in a major tourist destination. Hostels, by definition, are supposed to offer the bare essentials...More
