We stayed for 2 nights before and after a trip to Machu Picchu. The staff were lovely and helpful. The place seemed very quiet, which was handy for us wanting a good rest. Our shower didn’t have a lot of pressure or warmth. But the rooms have lots of blankets. Breakfast is ok, you have to pay for eggs and it’s nothing special. Security was good. Overall not a bad stay.

The hostel is two blocks away from Plaza de Armas, which is really a great location for all activities in Cusco. The private room we had was clean and spacious.
Unfortunately, the rooms are freezing and there is no heating. There are enough blankets though.
Eventhough the maindoor is centrally locked by the staff, the staff sits with the back to the main door and does not bother with a quick head turn to open the door or say hi.

Out of the three receptionists we met, two were not well trained enough and therefore could not execute simple things like a room allocation.
Furthermore, the breakfast staff and the hostal staff do not seem to work toghether: the prepaid breakfast, which timewise we could not consume could not be reimbursed to us by the hostal staff. A pity.

Comined with the reasonable price, the hostal remains to be recommended due to the neat rooms and great location.

I've been to this hostel one night since arriving from Arequipa. The hostel is very close to Plaza de Armas. Very friendly staff, breakfast in the right size. The only negative note is that it is very cold in the hostel and the manager does not care to find a solution to warm it up. Value for money is great

The hostel is in a great central location, just a few steps from the Plaza de Armas.
Our room was sweet however it was extremely cold and the bathroom was not to a high standard of cleanliness.
What really bothered me was that there was a woman continuously smoking in the courtyard with the closed roof. The smoke subsequently could be smelt throughout the hostel. I would suggest restricting the smoking to the courtyard without the roof (the one closest to the breakfast room).
Staff were unaccommodating and rude. They did not believe that we were actually going to pay for our stay. It would have been better if they showed some trust in the guests
Breakfast was included but limited the bread and jam and coffee. Other food items came at an extra cost. Extending the free breakfast to include some fresh fruit and cereal would have markedly improved the quality of the breakfast
I would not recommend this hostel as a place to stay in Cusco

My partner and I flew in to Cusco as our first stop in Peru and stayed here for a few nights before our trek. We stayed in a matrimonial room with a private bathroom, seemed clean to us. It was fairly easy to book and Miguel was quick at responding to emails. They picked us up at the airport. It was probably more expensive then getting a cab just outside the airport, but at 6am and having not been in Peru for very long, I am glad we did it. Check in wasn't until 10 or 11am, but they let us into our room when we got there. Standard Peruvian breakfast, bread and jam. Location is good and central. The wi-fi is hit or miss, it worked well in the common area, but not so well in our room. We stored our bags there while we did our trek. When we got back the cupboard we stored our bags in was unlocked, but our stuff was all there. To be fair though, after spending a month in Peru and storing our luggage in different hostels for a day or a few days, having unlocked storage rooms or cupboards seemed common. They advertise safety boxes, we asked about this, but there seemed to be none (this was also common among other hostels). It wasn't the cheapest hostel that we stayed at in Peru, but overall our stay was alright, no major complaints.

We stayed 3 nights here in Cusco. The hostel was basic but was clean and met all our needs. Wifi was good in the room and the water in the shower was hot. We had a private double room. The breakfast was pretty much non-existent compared to other places we stayed at but that's okay. There was a kitchen that the guests could use. The location was perfect - only about two blocks from the Plaza de Armas. The area was close to lots of restaurants and night life but felt safe and was very quiet in the hostel at night. They kept our luggage when we went to Machu Picchu and we stayed one more night on the way back. Had a great triple room on the second floor. The front desk also helped to make reservations for us at their hostel in Lima.

First of all it's the women who run the place. Intelligent, kind, helpful and trustworthy. The place itself is located a short walk from Plaza de Armas. It can lead to noisy nights when delivery trucks drive the narrow streets. The accommodation is like in most hostels. Could use some face lifting in the rooms. Nevertheless the beds are comfortable and there is hot water and good WiFi. I recommend the Hitchhikers as a very good option in central Cusco.

it is a good hotel with a good breakfast ( fresh fresh bread) and very friendly staff. But, dquring 5 days that I have been lived there they didn't clean my room and didn't change towels. And there was very cold.

We stayed for three nights and felt like home! The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms clean and big with hot showers and bright rooms! The staff is mostly nice and helpful, also when there are language problems;)
The breakfast is simple as usual: bread, jam, juice and coffee with option of eggs!
It's just a 3min walk to the Placa da armas, with a lot of restaurants, bars and minimarkets around!
I would recommend it!

Easy walk to a lot of restaurants and the main plaza. We got a private room and it was very comfortable. It got cold at night but they provided enough blankets to keep us warm.
The staff were really nice and helped us get transportation and answered all of our questions about the city.
