We stayed here for one night before our trip to Macchu Picchu and one more night when we returned. In some ways I am very grateful that they had a room for 3 persons as when we arrived our first hotel smelt of paint so we could not sleep there and our guide found us this place for US$ 60 night for 3 persons in one room. They completely got our breakfast order wrong and gave the takeaway breakfast (who was vegetarian) a meat roll on the first morning. The noise was constant all night long, traffic, beeping and dogs barking, we were on the first floor it was awful. The breakfast the second stay was limited but ok and we had the same room as before which was clean and spacious but basically. My friend asked for a bottle of water and said you had to pay cash at that moment, we had just returned from our hike and didn't have any cash it this caused a big argument between my friend and the receptionist. Please trust us to pay you the next day when we can get to a cash machine or bank.

Located on one of the main streets about 15 minute walk from a central square we had a large spacious room on the corner. Note that it is busy here in terms of traffic and activity so if you want a quieter room ask for one further from the main street. I didn’t mind the background white noise so it was fine having a wonderful view of the street from our corner room. The bathroom was large with a large shower stall at the end with by the far the best hot water we experienced in Peru both in terms of pressure and consistency. No counter space here in the bathroom so your hanging toiletry bag will come in handy. There are few shelves over the toilet but I typically won’t use those just in case something drops. There are sitting areas on the floors and you can see from the bottom to the top of the building through the central opening which has the stairwell to one side. Note again that the elevator here is tiny, really only enough room for 2 even though it says 6, but nice glass so you can view the street on the ride up. The dining room is on the top floor (6th) and served the typical peruvian breakfast with breads, meat, eggs, cheese, cereals, yogurts and juices. Coffee of course was spectacular as usual.

Notes about Peru. You can’t drink the water so bottled water is a must and you will buying tonnes of it daily. It will generally run you about 1.5 sol, with is about 50 cents CAD. Note also that you can’t put toilet paper in the toilet, they ask you to put it into the waste bucket beside each toilet. Don’t be shocked to find that you have to pay 1 sol to use the toilet in many locations. Although it has been mentioned that there are pick pockets in Peru, I saw none, no swarming children or any place I felt uncomfortable. There are a lot of street vendors but they are not obnoxious in any way. In fact I found peruvians to be incredibly honest people. There were several times during our trip where I gave the wrong coins to pay for water, the 5 and 2 sol look identical just a 2 or a 5 on them. In all cases the peruvian always corrected me and gave me the correct change in the return. If they had not I would not have even known my error and they obviously would know that but they were still compelled to do the right thing. Very refreshing.

Room Tip: Since you are in a city higher up is better for quieter rooms however be aware of the tiny elevator.

This is a 3 star hotel with an excellent staff that goes beyond and above their duty to make your stay pleasant. The rooms are comfortable. The bathrooms are cleaned but they don't provide extras such as shampo and hair dryer. I will stay in this hotel if I am in Cusco again.

Hotel Aranjuez is a great hotel for exploring Cusco, locating a few blocks from the city centre. The hotel is a common starting point for many tours around Peru. The rooms are spacious and clean, with little noise allowing for a good night’s sleep. The hotel provides 24/7 reception, where you can buy bottles of water and light snacks at any time. The reception staff are very helpful and can provide you with a map of the city. The breakfast included was good, although the choices were limited. The hotel has a nice waiting area on the group floor, providing an area to chat with friends as well as books to pass the time. I would highly recommending staying at this hotel as a base for exploring Cusco!

This hotel is a distance to the main Plaza de mayo.... its located just next to the main handicraft centre...there is a very good peruvian restaurant (La cusquenita) a few doors away. The staffs are friendly and speak english well.
The rooms are comfortable and there is free internet access, Satellite TV with CNN & BBC channels too. Taxi fare is cheap ... about 4-5 sols to major attractions in town.

This hotel is close to places you can walk. There are markets close by and good restaurants we walked to. The hotel sells water for three sol which is a steal! Most hotels sell one bottle for 5 sol. Keep yourself hydrated so you won't have elevation issues. Buy the big bottle if you can and share it. You can use the water for brushing your teeth. Surprisingly this hotel was quiet and very comfortable. Our room faced the street.

Our room was a double and was a decent size with a nice, clean bathroom. The shower pressure was good in our room.
We found the reception staff to be very friendly.
The breakfast is standard and isn't bad: bread, hot drinks, some fruit, and eggs made to order.
Being closer to the plaza would be nice but it's not too long of a walk, maybe 10/15 minutes.
The main complaint is that you can hear a lot of noise from the hotel, such as people coming and going, and other noise like pipes and some appliances (not sure what they were) so we didn't get great sleeps for two nights before walking the Inca trail.

Located a healthy walk from the main square, this hotel puts a roof over your head. I stayed twice on a tour and got basically the same thing both times...a very standard Peruvian room...no heat or ac, noise from the hallway, and a tv without any English channels. Shower curtains don't fit, so water floods the bathroom and soaks anything left on the floor. WiFi is decent, and cocoa tea is always available in reception. Breakfast does the job with eggs available.

Not the worst place to stay as is fit and above average if it was a YHA sort of place, but no good any other way. for the money is better to pay a little bit more and book one of the hotels opposite which are much much better.
However the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The location is a bit of a walk from the center, but the area is safe and clean. The hotel is right beside a mercado de artesania, so if you need to buy anything, you can buy souvenirs a good prices.

The hotel is new, rooms are nice, basic and very clean. The staff is very courteous and they have always been able to help me out with any requests....such as sending my scanned passport to the office in Machu Picchu, so I can climb Huayna Picchu!!! They saved me in the sitaution!!

I enjoyed my stay here and would come back. The only downside would be the sound of cars honking at all hours...seems like drivers like doing this always...but you'll get used to it.
