Overdue review - it was a last minute booking for us but were happy with this cute hotel! Stayed in the superior matrimonial room (though we didn't need that much space) and loved the view over the city! Heaters were also welcomed as it gets very cold at night.

Staff was very nice and accommodating and helped arrange a very, very, early taxi for an early train ride to Machu Picchu one day.

The location is wonderful in the San Blas section - but yes, as others have stated, streets are narrow and it can be a pain to get around in a taxi around there especially with luggage but that is also a lot of how Cusco is.

Found the breakfast to be nice and enjoyable!

We loved the views and outdoor common areas. The rooms are comfortable and the staff exceptionally helpful and kind. One of the few hotels in Cusco open and running at full speed after the quarantine 2020. They take special care to make guests feel safe and allow everyone to enjoy their stay. I highly recommend this hotel!

We recently visited Tika Wasi Casa Boutique Hotel on a trip to Peru and spent two nights there. This is a nice place to stay in Cusco. Each room has a different decoration mixing styles and objects from different origins. Rooms are spacious and clean. A garden / patio in the middle of the hotel provides a space to chill and relax and contemplate the stunning view over Cusco. Location is actually both the hotel's strong and weak point. Strong point because of the panoramic view over the city. Weak point because of the difficulty to access the hotel. Cusco Historic District around Plaza de Armas and Plaza San Blas is a maze of steep and narrow streets where two cars cannot pass each other. On the way to the airport we got stuck for more than 10 minutes by a truck delivering water to a nearby hotel. This is something to take into consideration when taking a flight or a train. Another point to highlight is the absence of elevator. We had to carry our bags to the second floor where our room was located with very limited assistance from the hotel staff. This is a point for improvement. Another point for improvement is breakfast. Not breakfast itself which offers fresh products and quite a few options but breakfast room, relatively small and dark in the underground floor. It is a pity that with such a great panorama over Cusco management didn't find a place to allow customers to enjoy it at breakfast. Overall Tika Wasi Casa Boutique Hotel is a very nice place to stay in Cusco and I don't hesitate to recommend it.

Loved this hotel!!! It’s in San Blas, so it’s at the top of the city…which means lots of stairs. (Wouldn’t recommend staying in this area of the city if it’s your first time in Cusco, we loved it AFTER visiting Machu Picchu and returning)

Hotel had the best of everything our entire trip- amazing breakfast, relaxing areas, very quiet, great beds and showers.

Highly recommend this place and would stay here again!

We stayed at the flower house for six nights. There are an estimated over 1000 accommodation choices in Cusco, And we were so pleased to have found Tika Wasi. Lovely welcoming staff, nothing was too much trouble; beautiful garden complete with hummingbirds and views over the Imperial city. Very comfortable rooms and great breakfast. Our grateful thanks for everything.

This hotel is mostly outdoors. A beautiful garden overlooking gorgeous Cusco acts as a "lobby," and rooms surround the garden on two floors from all sides. There are plenty of areas for people to sit and chat. Tea is always available near reception, and delicious breakfast is served from 6:00-9:30 every morning. The woman who oversaw breakfast was very attentive, and always kept the fruit, eggs, and other offerings fresh.

Staff was very helpful in arranging taxi transportation from the hotel. Our only issue came on arrival when our taxi did not show up to the airport to pick us up. Tika Wasi is close to the main square, but it is difficult to find on first encounter. Also, the hill leading to Tika Wasi is steep, especially when you don't have luggage and have not adjusted to the altitude.

Having said this, taxis to the hotel are normally cheap when you know how to direct them, and the San Blas neighborhood where it is located is a perfect spot for restaurants, drinks, shopping.

Staff was very apologetic for the missed taxi. They agreed to pay for our return to the airport, and we never again had an issue with their taxi arrangements again!

Anyways, a beautiful, restful, and romantic stay, all for an affordable price. I would definitely come again

UPDATE: I am posting to update on my experience. I was pleased that after seeing this review the hotel contacted me to apologize for the situation and offered to pay for my stolen phone. I appreciate hotels that take customer satisfaction seriously. I've pasted my previous review below but given the resolution of the major issue I had, I would recommend this hotel as long as you follow my suggestions for requesting a room.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: This hotel was highly rated and affordable so I booked four nights there (not consecutive). I arrived late at night and checked in, noting right away that our room was right next to reception. I was exhausted and had only a few hours to sleep before picking my husband up at the airport. I heard noises all night as people came in and out and barely slept. Why they would have a room (especially a matrimonial room, so not a bunch of backpackers jammed into one room who aren't going to care) so close to reception that has windows that open into the interior, makes no sense to me. So in the morning I asked for a new room. None were available so we had to stay there another night. Again, very loud. We finally got moved to a room with three beds, which was fine. They informed us it was a more expensive room but they would give it to us at the regular rate. This room was nothing special. I think if anything it should be at the regular rate and the room next to reception should be discounted. Suggestion one: request a room in advance that is away from reception.

The last straw was when we were checking out. We were scheduled to come back in a few days after an excursion. I left my iPhone in the room when we checked out and called them immediately upon realizing it, but of course it was already gone. I was assured that they have a policy that all staff must report found items, but I am 100% sure I left it in the room so obviously someone stole it. While it was partially my fault for leaving it in the room, I was upset by the dishonesty of the staff. Suggestion two: keep your personal belongings locked up.

Other than these bad experiences, I will say the breakfast was great and the breakfast room had a nice view of Cuzco.

Very nice boutique hotel in Cusco within walking distance of all the Cusco highlights. Be prepared on the way back cause the Calle Siete Angelitos is a bit steap.

The hotel has a lovely garden to relax, coffee and tea facilities and very friendly and helpfull staff. While you go on a Machu Picchu trip you can safely leaf your luggage there.

If you were to rate the Tika Wasi as a hotel, you would give it low marks, but as a hostel, it is fine. Go there with that level of expectation and you won't be disappointed.

The rooms are basic and clean, but (in July) ours was the coldest room we had ever syated in. You had to go outside to warm up.

The breakfast is simple and very nice - good OJ, coffee and scrambeld eggs - just what you need for a day in Cusco.

There is a small bar that does evening snacks, but we found it quiet and a bit dull, although the resident dog does his bit for the evening entertainment!

One small quibble, which may just be unique to us, related to a problem with had with missing items in our room. When we raised the matter with the manager, we were dismissed out of hand and told that it was impossible in their establishment. No matter how proud you are of your security, you need to at least pretend to believe your paying guests.

Contact Tika Wasi in advance, and they will arrange to have a taxi waiting for you at the airport. Or vise versa. They're extremely helpful. It can be risky, as well as expensive, to flag a taxi down at the airport or on the street.

Ah cusco é o caos pra dirigir viu?! Nunca vi pior... rs
