Rumi Wasi (House of Stone) is a house with a colonial style built in the XVI century by Spanish conquerors and erected over Inca's terraces. The property was then bought by the San Roman-Vucetich family. Once the restoration was finished and after contemplating how beautiful it had been done, The San Roman-Vucetich family decided to share the warmth of its installations with Cusco visitors. Thus, we are waiting for you to enjoy a nice and comfortable atmosphere enriched for its architectural beauty, privileged view, history and tranquility.

My partner and I recently stayed at Rumi Wasi in Cusco. We had a great experience! Manuel, who is the host, is very knowledgeable about everything in Cusco. We asked him for restaurant recommendations, he held onto our luggage when we visited other other parts of Peru, and he even helped us with scheduling a covid 19 test. He truly went out of his way to help make our stay convenient and enjoyable. Otherwise, the hotel offers free breakfast, it is very clean, and the location is a quick 3 min walk to the Plaza De Armas. We had the very best time at Rumi Wasi and HIGHLY recommend this hotel for anyone coming to visit Cusco! Thank you for everything, mi amigo Manuel 😊

delightful place to stay! It’s a perfect location, two blocks from Plaza de Armas, but up an incline so you have a view of the city — especially from their breakfast balcony! The housekeeping staff is kind and Manuel, the manager is thorough and customer service oriented. When we arrived he sat us down and told us exactly what to expect from altitude sickness, how to prevent it, gave us recommendations — and likely kept us from getting sick. Our room had a delightful essential oil (muña - Andean mint) burning when we arrived one day I was so in love with the smell and wanted to buy some but was leaving the next day, so Manuel arranged for the producer of the essential oil (who lived in the Sacred Valley) to ship some to me at my next hotel in Lima. Really amazing customer service and special attention to guests!

We absolutely loved this hotel: we had a briefing the minute we arrived with tips to make acclimating to altitude easier, the room was beautiful and cozy and we felt right at home. Manuel was so kind, helped us with any and all questions and went above and beyond for us. I highly recommend Rumi Wasi!!

Manuel and his colleague Olga are the ultimate hosts in this stunning property mixing the Incan stone and Spanish colonial styles. With only a few rooms total in the hotel, we felt quietly secluded from the bustling streets of Cusco that were just steps from our door. Our room was spotless, the breakfast was fresh and delivered to our room right on time (but you can eat on the gorgeous terrace too!) and we used their laundry service which was a help and affordable help after coming off of the Inca Trail for four days. Honestly, it’s easily one of our best hotel experienced of our lives. Thank you Manuel!!

This is a great location and a cozy hotel. Manuel was extremely attentive throughout our stay. He arranged airport travel (for a small fee), held our bags during our 5 day Salkantay trek and let us use our room 4 hours past check-out on our last day. My ONLY complaint is we requested breakfast at 10am our last morning as we were so exhausted from our hike and it came at 7am. This hotel doesn’t have a traditional hotel vibe, so be aware sometimes there are not staff readily available, but Manuel was prompt in response to any messages. It is best to have them arrange transportation as it is a little complicated to get to when driving. They light candles in your room upon check-in and provide warm water pouches to keep you warm before bed.

One of the best hotels i have ever stayed in.

Manuel was the ultimate host, a truly great person who on arrival gave me some great advice on how to avoid altitude sickness.

My first 2 nights was in the panoramic suite, such great value and the private terrace is stunning. The views are out of this world!

I checked out and was allowed to leave my bags at the hotel for 2 days whilst i went to Machu Picchu. On arrival i was in a different room, equally as lovely and my bags were there waiting for me.

Sent Manuel a text every evening with my breakfast order which always arrived on time and the breakfast itself was delicious.

The location was a few minutes walk from the main Plaza too!

My stay here was perfect and i hope to return here someday. Thank you Manuel to you and your great staff!!

Rumi Wasi was an amazing hotel!! Incredibly beautiful building and architecture. The room was immaculate, from the comfort of the bed, so soft and cushy and warm; to the hot shower with the jets… it was a perfect place to relax and rest after a long hike at Machu Picchu!!
The special touches like the candles and historical artifacts in my he room, to the Italian toiletries, my hair felt like silk!
The breakfast was also spectacular, I was able to enjoy it on the balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains.
I HIGHLY recommend Hotel Rumi Wasi, I will definitely be back again!!!
Special thanks to Manuel who made everything as easy as possible, he was able to get the clinic to make a house call for my needed covid test, and also arranged for a terrific cab to take me to the airport. So helpful and sweet!! Thanks again for everything! :)

My husband and I stayed at the Rumi Wasi twice during our 2 weeks in Peru, on the way to, and from, Machu Picchu. The location is perfect: the central square is a short walk down the hill. The hotel itself is lovely. It has a central open air courtyard, with a really pretty balcony with beautiful views of Cusco. Both of the rooms we stayed in were quaint and well decorated, one had a beautiful vaulted ceiling. The daily breakfast featured various choices, that you ordered the night before, and was delivered by staff member each morning. Manuel and his staff are wonderful: friendly and helpful, and always available to answer questions. While we were there, there was a train strike, which altered our travel plans on the way back from Machu Picchu. Manuel took the stress out of the situation, by arranging for a taxi to pick us up at train station. This ended up being an unexpected bonus because we got to enjoy a 2 hour scenic car ride back to Cusco. My husband and I plan on returning to Peru for a second visit. We would happily stay at the Rumi Wasi again!

My sister and I loved our stay at Rumi Wasi! Check-in was easy and the housekeeper was so kind, offering tea when we arrived. Manuel, the owner of the hotel, also contacted us personally to let us know that he was available for any questions. In addition, he organized our airport transport on request which meant we didn’t have to worry about finding a taxi!

The gorgeous building was built during the 16th century and offers an amazing view of Cusco when you climb the porch stairs. The room was so clean and comfortable. It also overlooked a quiet street. The building is also only a five-minute walk from the Plaza de Armas, delicious restaurants, and historic cobblestone streets. We highly recommend Rumi Wasi. This will be our home base in Cusco when we return!

Quaint and historic hotel in the heart of Cusco.

Manuel was kind enough to pick us up at the airport and transport us to his hotel. A city tour was detailed along the way and, when at the hotel, our acclimatization was begun with the hotel's cocoa tea (a must).

Rumi Wasi dates from the 16th century and has been impeccably maintained. The rooms were comfortable (a little cold in the evenings) and the staff attended to every need. Breakfast was included for our stay and was well prepared.

When visiting Cusco again we will definitely plan to stay here again.
