We really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars because it almost ticked all the boxes. Firstly the the good stuff: We were met, by name at the door when we arrived. The rooms are spotless, the breakfast is excellent. They will store your luggage safely & securely, free of charge while you are in Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu. If it gets cold, heaters are readily available. Free tea, coffee, coca tea available 24/7. Wi-fi and a hotel computer free. The showers are hot & with lovely white fluffy towels! So why not 5 stars? Well because it has only been opened 4 months the Reception staff still need to learn how to cope with dealing with more than one person at a time. Last minute building & plumbing works made it a bit noisy and avoid taking a room on the 3rd floor because they are significantly smaller. They should install safes in the rooms rather than storing your valuables in a locked drawer at Reception. Overall - reckon if we went back in 3 months we'd give it 5+ stars. They just need time to understand how great they are!!

We stayed here 5 days whilst visiting Machu Picchu and other sites. We were met at the airport and welcomed warmly. The location is only 10 minutes from Plaza de Armas and the building very secure. The staff were all helpful, printing airline tickets for me etc. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, TV and free WiFi and a very good breakfast. A little noisy from reception but not too bad. Would recommend this nice place.

This is a great little hotel in Cusco. It is small but a perfect location, and the staff is very helpful. The breakfast buffet was better than most I have tried for this price range. It included a different type of egg each morning, two to three types of bread, yogurt, juices, fruit, one day they had a Peruvian version of pancakes with a creamy spread in the middle. The room was clean with a tv a good hot shower. All showers are temperamental in Cusco, they all run hot and cold in a matter of seconds. They have free internet use for 15 minutes or 3 soles for an hour. The room was very cozy with plenty of room for my clothes. There is no hair dryer or alarm clock, but soap and shampoo packets. I would stay here again.

Genuinely a terrible hotel.

1) the hotel constantly smells of horrible cooking smells.
2) the breakfast is inedible.
3) the hotel staff are rude and impolite.
4) the front door is always locked and you have to be let in but the staff are often not on reception leaving you standing outside waiting to be let in - you don’t have a key.
5) the toilets say they have been sanitised before you arrive but there was fecal matter in the bottom of my toilet when I arrived so clearly not the case.
6) their website advertises 24 cafe which is not the case. You can’t even buy a bottle of water at 10pm without paying in cash because the water is owned by the employees and not the hotel(!) and there is no access to free drinking water. I had to wander out on my own (female solo traveller) at 10:30 at night to get cash for more water.
7) the rooms are tiny.

The staff here was extremely friendly. They brought up some tea when we checked in, and we needed it after climbing up the stairs in that altitude. The rooms are basically appointed, but we were comfortable. The breakfast offered every morning was very nice--with a variety of fresh fruits, juices, breads, and some hot options everyday that we were there. They very nicely held our luggage for four days when we headed out on a trek, and it was waiting for us in our room when we returned. The staff always greeted us and helped us with directions or basic questions about the area. The hotel is a short walk away from the Plaza de Armas.

The hotel does provide transportation from the airport when arranged in advance, but you will need to get a taxi for your departure. The front desk very nicely helped us call a taxi.

My only note of caution about this hotel would be about the bathrooms. The water is hot and reliable in the showers, but our bathroom (particularly the toilet) in our second floor room had a bit of a moldy smell. Our bathroom on the third floor was fine. The rooms and bathrooms were always well cleaned, so I'm thinking this was more of a basic ventilation or plumbing issue.

We stayed here for 4 nights before our Inka Tail trek and once night after and were very pleased with the stay. They have free Wifi which is always a plus for me, however it was spotty and went down quite a few times, and the weak signal at times meant it was occasionally slow. But it was FREE so they earn points from me.

The location was nice and we never had a problem with the noise. The main plaza was about a 10-15 minute walk away. There is a laundry service across the street that is also very convenient.

The breakfast was nice and varied somewhat each of the days we were there. They have a nice patio with a fountain to relax, have a cup of free coca tea and read a book. We found the staff to be friendly and pleasant to speak with, and getting picked up at the airport for free was also very nice. The rooms were all clean, new and well maintained. The few things to note that could have been better: some rooms can be somewhat small, but the superior rooms are larger and are not much more expensive. Definitely worth the extra few dollars if there are two people or if you have more luggage. I also wished they had safes in the room, would have been much more convenient than leaving things at the front dest. They did let us keep our luggage there however while we hiked the Inka Trail and we felt it was secure.

One other suggestion is that it would be nice if the front desk could make change from larger to smaller soles bills as the ATMs kept giving me larger bills that I would have to wait endlessly for someone to find change for every time I wanted to make a purchase. Most hotels nowadays will make change for you these days but Antawasi would not. Just a small suggestion but would be a nice touch for customer convenience. But to summarize, I would stay here again and have no problem recommending Antawasi to others.

From our point of view, the best feature of this place is the service, which was fabulous. We were met at the airport by two people, one of whom spoke fluent English. We tipped 15 sols for the 15 minute ride. A nice girl greeted us at the front desk and offered tea. We asked about a place to eat and were given a map with directions to Plaza de Armas, a great people place in a delightful square. It was very easy to find places to eat and drink. Our room was modest, but more than adequate. Wireless in the room (and hotel) was consistently strong. Breakfast was not very good. The morning we checked out, we had several hours to kill
before needing a taxi to the airport. We stored our bags and a very helpful front desk person directed us to the city market where we had a great time, before returning to the hotel. A taxi had already been ordered for us. Our bags, including carry-ons, were carried out to the taxi for us. To conclude (almost), the service at this place was terrific and all front desk personnel were eager to please and spoke fine English. I have only one complaint, but it is a big one. Almost every hotel these days has either an inroom safe or a secure safety deposit box area near the front desk which is keyed, the hotel and the client each having a key both of which are required for entry - like a safety deposit box at a bank. This place has neither inroom boxes or a secure general area and, for me, it is the single reason I will not return. This hotel's idea of security is quite unbelievable. They ask the client to fill out a form describing
what he/she proposes to store in safe-keeping (they ask for currencies and AMOUNTS of each). I refused to indicate amounts. You put what you want to store in a brown envelope. They staple this closed and staple the form to the front, then put said form in a small room off the lobby where, as far as I could see, access was pretty easy. I left my valuables in this position
for two days during a visit to Machu Picchu and worried about my money the whole
time. I am happy to report my fears were groundless, but what a way to ask
a tourist to store valuables which on a long trip far away from home are so
critical.

Located in a quiet side street, 2 minutes from Santo Domingo and 10 from La Plaza de Armas, this quiet, clean and friendly hotel is an ideal base in Cusco. Free airport pick up.
The hotel has a relationship with a tour company which will book your train ticket to Machu Pichu if Peru Rail has sold out, and save queuing to buy the boleto turistico for the archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley. They also do a good value afternoon tour including Santo Domingo and Sacsaywaman - 10 soles extra to enter Santo Domingo.

Cusco is full with hotels of all types, this one has a good price, is really clean, is not extremely closed to Plaza de Armas but is closed enough, it was hot water, the breakfast is good, the staff is nice and willing to help I enjoyed my stay and I will stay there again but ofcourse this hotel is when u have an small budget and you are willing to let you luxuries, on that sense this hotels have all the basics cover!
