This is great little hotel once you get there. Don’t expect to get a taxi to your door as this is a side street up hill and very rough climb especially with suitcases. The front desk girl is amazing she speaks fairly good English and is very helpful. The front door is always locked you have to ring to get in. Once in you have to go down a set of stairs. Our room was to the left at the bottom of the stairs and when you walk through the door ther is a small kitchen with a small couch and coffee table. This room as a decent size fridge with a 2 burner hobb and a microwave. We never used the cooking facilities but did use the kettle. The bedroom was upstairs with a queen bed and TV. The only problem was there was only 3 hanger and no where to put your clothes so really had to live out of the suit case. Near the hotel are little store to buy water and beer and a few other necessities. You need to buy water as you cannot drink their water, you can’t use their water to even brush your teeth. I would boil water in the kettle and use that then sanitize my tooth brush. When you go n excursion they will make you a breakfast to go which is really helpful. The one main problem with this hotel is after you have been trekking all day you have to come back and climb the steps back up to your place. If you suffer from altitude sickness this can be difficult. This hotel has 3 terraces which were really nice at the end of the day.

This hotel is situated in the San Blas a more bohemian part of Cusco, lots of narrow streets with picturesque streets, nice restaurants, arty shops, and great bars. The Morada hotel is a modern apartment hotel, with 2 floors in your room, a mini kitchen with fridge, lounge area and shower downstairs and a very comfortable bedroom upstairs. Cable tv, wifi connection all available in hotel and room safe and manned guarded door at reception, a choice of breakfast options in room or on terrace. Staff lovely and very efficient. Really loved this hotel, and it was a lovely way to end my 2 month stay in Peru. Just a word on taxis to hotel, the hotel is located on a narrow street and is pedestrians only...might be worth thinking about if you have large bags, taxis will drop you to the square, its only a short walk to the hotel from there, however it is a steep up hill to the hotel, and might be worth remembering about the taxis if you are out late at night, especially if you travelling alone.

Very nice place, I enjoyed it. The room was clean and tidy, decor was nice. The layout was a bit strange (room upstairs, bathroom downstairs) but no complaints. Great breakfast. The place just feels good and fresh. Please note that taxis don't go all the way up, you will have to walk from San Blas square to the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel on a family trip with my parents and it’s quite nice. The room was clean and comfortable, and they even brought us coca tea when we first arrived. The hotel has an amazing view of the city, especially from the breakfast room. It’s a bit of a trek to get to here, but it’s worth the walk.

We booked this because of all the comments about it being quiet. And while a lovely place that seems out if the way, and hotel staff were friendly, we found it lacking. We stayed in five different Cusco hotels over a month as we went in different trips, but I wouldn’t book here again.

The rooms were cold and space heater not adequate. We requested another one, but didn’t have one.

Breakfast was okay, but the room was freezing.

WiFi never worked.

There was not a single night of quiet. The hotel basically backs up to San Blas square and Peruvians live to celebrate. There were concerts until 2 am sometimes, and every single night and early morning, there were fireworks. We could hear conversations and music from the restaurant next door.

We chose to do laundry through the hotel since they had a laundry facility on site (we saw it on a door). But turns out, they send it off to someone else. That someone else lost a couple items of ours, which was a big deal because we literally only had 3 outfits for the month. After back and forth conversations, we were told the laundry place would give us $40 to replace the items? But they not the hotel would.

Anyway, I would recommend another place.

The hotel itself is great: nice and quiet, great view from the breakfast area of the city, walkable to san blas and the main square, helped us to arrange transport, organized laundry service...BUT.. it is located up a hill and we were out of breath every time walking home, also the breakfast is pretty sparse: a few muffins, bread, some fruit and yogurt. Coffee was awful. Not the amazing bfast people are raving about.
Not sure how it compares to other similar hotels in Cusco and price range, but overall it was just fine. No real complaints.

I understand in the absolute terms of Soles per night, you can find a lot better value for the price in cusco. But in relative terms, the price for a western traveler is totally worth it. The view is absolutely incredible. The rooms are clean. The beds are a bit more stiff than the average US hotel room. But it was comfy enough for me (7-year tempurpedic user). They will even store your luggage when you're not renting the room, perfect for 4-day hikes for Machu Picchu. Disclaimer: it can be a hike just getting to the hotel, but it should serve as good training for the long hikes ahead.

I just got back from Cusco and wanted to find a place in the San Blas neighborhood. Overall, a very quiet place, great service, a 10 minute walk to the main plaza, clean rooms and hot showers. There is also a great terrace view of the entire city and free Wifi service. Highly recommend this place!

stayed here for one night en route to puno in early May and wished we could have stayed there longer. we were on the way back from machu picchu and had to take a cab to the hotel, but he just dropped us off in san blas square and then we had to find the place ourselves. given that it was late, it was difficult for us to find, but a local hostel owner who saw us wandering around actually called the hotel and helped guide us to the location. definitely print out a map before going there if you're not getting picked up! also, it is located uphill from san blas square (which is already many blocks uphill from the plaza de armas), and i was quite out of breath getting there. you also have to go down a side street which is really quiet - i felt safe, but was always with my husband and would be a little wary if i was a single woman walking alone late at night, as we did run into some drunk guys on the way up after dinner.

once we arrived, it was awesome! each suite has 2 levels - the first with a very modern bathroom, kitchenette, small table, couch. the second is the bedroom with safe, TV. the linens were the best we had in Peru. tea was delivered when we arrived and breakfast (great fruit bowl, bread with butter and jam, tea, juice) was delivered to us early because we had to catch a bus in the morning. we ate in the room both times because it was dark, but would have enjoyed eating on the terrace as well. wi-fi was great everywhere. because we didn't have any complimentary airport transfers, they paid for one of our taxis to the bus station, which was nice. would definitely stay here again!!

Modern apartment hotel. Very service-minded staff. Especially when one of us got sick and got a lot of help including transport to hospitals. Safe hotel area / reception area with guarded locked door. Own computer room with a good computer. Good pick up at airport with good information 2 floor apartment with kitchen and bathroom in the lower parts and comfy bedroom in upper.

Room Tip: Lots of stairs from San Plaza up to hotel. If not use to heights its tiring.

The room we stayed doesn't have any view. But in pateo there is a lovely balcony with an amazing view from the city. The breakfast room has also a view. I think there is only one bedroom with view but it is only for two people. The hotel is very good but be prepared, there are a lot of stairs to reach it and the car doesn't park near.

How can I use the airport shuttle?

Si, el lugar es muy seguro, tanto la Morada como el lugar donde se ubica, el barrio se llama San Blas y es el mas pintoresco cercano a la Plaza de Armas q es el centro de toda actividad en Cusco. La famosa subida es cansadora.
