I had booked the Golden Inca Hotel for two nights, the first before my Inca Trail trip and the second night directly after. Upon arriving at the Golden Inca Hotel I could tell that the staff were poorly trained and that the hotel was disorganized,...More
We had mixed feelings about this hotel. We chose it after reading many, many reviews of hotels closer to the center where it was said to be loud at night and hard to sleep. . .which is why we chose this one a little further...More

Our stop in Cusco was part of a larger 6 month trip so in general, we have been avoiding tours and making most plans on our own. Having said that, there are so many options for Machu Pichu, and the gentleman at the little tour desk in the lobby was immensely helpful. If we were booking tours, I would have used him. Oyantantambo was a favorite stop for us in the Sacred Valley- there is hiking to two sets of ruins there. We stayed in La Abuela hostel there( a little out of the main square) and it was lovely. Enjoy your trip- it will be amazing.
