I stayed in Mama Simona after a hard week partying in La Paz. It was the perfect place to relax and chill. I had a 4 bed dorm to my self apart from one night. The beds are comfy as is the communal area. The main plaza is just a short walk away and laundry services are next door. I...

This was a pretty excellent place for a stay in Cuzco. It's located near the city center and the enormous market, San Pedro. My girlfriend and I stayed there and had a great stay: the bathrooms were clean, the rooms were clean, the cups for the free coca tea were clean, and the kitchen and dining area were nice spots...

I've never left a negative review before but my recent experience here was so different (and not good) compared to the other reviews that it seemed necessary. We arrived early and the staff let us check our bags into the storage room and offered us free tea while we waiting in the sitting area. They were totally hospitable and nice....

Mama Simona is usually a calm hostel, you were staying at the beginning of the year were many people comes to Cusco to party and we think that was a loudy night. We know in which room you were staying and we will do something by the end of this year, also about ventilation. We apologize and thank you for...

Comfortable and clean as expected at this hostel. After reading the reviews and also laying in the very comfortable bed we thought we were in for a nice sleep. Unfortunately a large group (sounded like there was 50 people) checked in at 9 30pm and hung around in the lobby yelling and banging doors until 12pm. Although this is not...

We couldn't have asked for better! Our stay at Mama Simona was a great experience. We booked a private room and bathroom and everything was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was above and beyond helpful and booked multiple cab rides for us, gave us directions, and recommendations. The free cocoa tea was delicious and available at all times....

I've stayed at hostels around the world, and can attest to this one being among the best experiences I've ever had. Some of the things I really liked were: -- Very clean rooms, bathrooms, and surrounding areas (which is important!) -- Reasonable rates at around US $11; breakfast included -- Extremely friendly staff. Not only were they accessible 24x7, but...

Arrived very early on the day of check in, and the staff allowed us use of the computers and lockers until we were able to enter our room (earlier than the given time which is a bonus). The décor in the hostel is very different and stand out. Creates a charming atmosphere and gives it a bit more life compared...

What can I say - a hostel like many others, I liked the common area where you can find a coca mate for everybody for free. 10 min walk from Plaza de Armas, there is laundry service nearby if you need it. Rooms are clean, the bed clothing as well. You will find a soap and shampoo in the bathroom....

Nice clean room, comfy beds. Particularly appreciated the hair dryer you can borrow free! However breakfast was pretty poor, compared to places like La Boheme where they make you a pancake. Also found some staff members unfriendly.

Great Hostel! It was just what we needed after coming back from our hike in Machu Picchu. The hostel had all the amenities (big lockers, WiFi, comfortable/cozy common room, breakfast, etc.) and the twin private room we stayed in was very clean and had a spacious bathroom with hot water. Would recommend it!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is named after the sacred peak Mama Simona – the only female mountain deity among twelve others surrounding Cusco. Mama Simona Hostel is like a good conversation over a cup of coca tea rather than a wild party; a comfortable and welcoming refuge away from the standard “just-another-hostel” kind of place; simple wooden furniture and lots of room rather than cramped kitschy interiors. Staying with Mama Simona is like being invited into the warmth of a Peruvian home. ... more   less
