Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff were attentive, warm and welcoming. They gave us great information about the area, tours, restaurants and were happy to organise taxis and transfers to airport. The house is extremely clean with modern amenities and bathrooms and beautifully decorated. Full breakfast including eggs, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, coffee/tea was served each morning in the beautiful sunny dinning/kitchen area and hot beverages were available throughout the day (including mate de coca)The location is amazing within walking distance to Plaza de Armas and restaurants. We loved everything about this place and highly recommend it.

The hotel is family run which is lovely to see. Everyone is incredibly helpful, from storage of bags whilst doing overnight tours to laundry and housekeeping. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had with bread, eggs, avocado, fruit, granola, yoghurt, tea, coffee etc. The rooms are pretty spacious and have everything you need. One downside is that the bathrooms tend to get very wet after a shower, the steam creates a lot of condensation on the walls which creates puddles of water on the floor, even with the window open. We stayed here twice and in two different rooms, both bathrooms had the same problem with the condensation. The wifi was generally good, but did drop out sometimes. Other than that, our stay was great!

Great place, clean, good location and kind and helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious and the lunch box for the day when I left early had very good items on it (compared to other lunch boxes I had) overall a great experience. The other is more on the apartment type of distribution of rooms.

Adorable hotel. Perfect location! Such sweet individuals working the hotel that happily cook breakfast and will pack it up for you if you have to leave the hotel before breakfast begins. Carmen is so sweet and caring. As soon as we arrived, she made us coca tea to help with any altitude issues we may have had. Someone was there to help us with anything we needed including carrying bags/directions/recommendations. I recommend this hotel and will choose to stay here again if back in Cusco. Wonderful experience that feels more like a home than a hotel! Thank you, Carmen.
Sincerely, Alexandria P

Beds are comfortable, linen and towels are great, what more? WIFI was stable, breakfast is plentiful (eggs a la carte, bread, butter, ham, cheese, jam, fruit salad, yogurt, cereals though a small amount), and they make a take-away breakfast if you miss the standard hours which are 6:30-9:30. Location is OK - close to a big supermarket (2 min), IncaRail office (7 min), Main Square (9 min), San Isidoro market (6 min). You should realize though that most travelers like to live up the cathedral (San Blas) but it's very hilly there and I didn't want to climb several times per day. And people at the reception were so nice! I really appreciated this small hotel.

Perfect. I recommend having a translator if you dont speak Spanish but the place was amazing, truly. Very close to the center square. Very safe. Very close to the van to Macchu Picchu. Everything about this place was wonderful. The staff was friendly, they offered free teas where you can add coco leaves (to help with altitude sickness). I actually had terrible altitude sickness in Cusco, but the owner of the hotel let me use herbal medicines to help with it for free! They had wifi, netflix, youtube, gorgeous rooms, everything. Really a wonderful place for my girlfriend and I to stay, especially for my first few nights in Peru. Most hotels I’ve been to the staff seem like robots and just give you basics for a hotel but this was some of the best hospitality I’ve ever had in a hotel, if not the best. Plus they gave us little llama Casa Matara souvenirs! Truly lovely place. 10/10. Go here.

I love this hotel! The hotel is super modern, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The family that run this hotel are so nice and friendly, at the end of my two week stay I felt like was leaving my own family. The food is excellent and they had no problem making me vegan and vegetarian food that was delicious. The location is great and it is very close walking distance to all the best spots in town. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed in Casa Matara on our way to Machu Pichu. It is a beautiful boutique hotel run by a lovely family from Cusco. They are extremly attemptive to anything you may need to have a pleasant stay.
The rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is very complete with eggs, fruits, cereals, toasts and infusions.
We would definitevly stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights at Casa Matara in March 2022, and really enjoyed this place. While rooms are a little tight, they are nice and clean. The staff is super helpful and friendly and the breakfast is nice and plentiful. The location is very good - a short walk away from Plaza de Armas in the historic centre of town.

Casa Matara Boutique is an excellent place to stay when in Cusco! It is located very close to the centre and it is very clean.
The room was spacious, the bed was good and there was always hot water to the shower.
As we had very early trips, we could not take the breakfast at the hotel daily, but they always prepare a breakfast bag for us.
The people running the hotel are very friendly and helpful.
