Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

It's hard for us to decide whether this hotel was average or very good, overall. We stayed here for one night en route to Puno.

Pros:
- Good value for money
- Helpful staff
- Hot water available
- Free Wi-fi
- Rooms were heated
- Relatively clean room and bathroom
- Breakfast was ok - bread, eggs, fruit and coffee

Cons:
- The room layout and maintenance was very average. The bed and closet were old.
- The room was very small and not too well lit.
- The bathroom floor had shoe prints on it.

For just one night, it was fine and a good value for money. If you are staying in Cusco longer, I would recommend looking into other options.

The location is about 15-20 min walk which can be a pain having to catch taxis during the evening.

The area is as previous reviewers commented pretty average. You're enveloped by a cloud of gasoline the moment you enter the street.

The rooms do not look like the photos, reduce your expectation by 50% and that's closer to reality. I have no window and the room was freezing without a heater. The bathroom door was broken so I can't shut out the air from the bathroom.

On the plus side staff are very friendly and the Internet was fast.

The service here is Peruvian- in that it takes forever to have anything done for you and your room does not get cleaned at any regular intervals. You don't get dry bath towels or anything like that, in fact one of the staff members left a dirty rag in here when we moved in and it is still laying right here on the table.
But those are just normal issues for anyone traveling budget in Peru. The real issue for me is the internet. The internet is just fine if you are close to the router, but my girlfriend and I are down on the end of the hall and the internet keeps blinking to the point where it almost cannot be used. It's very frustrating to lose everything in the middle of a task and have to wait until the router decides it wants to provide internet again. If you can, request a room close to the router.
Another downside is that the area surrounding is not very nice at all. We are surrounded by auto part shops and potholes, nothing like the pristine cobblestone streets in the center of town. Notice how on the website, they only show pictures of the hotel itself, not its ghetto surroundings.
On the plus side, the man working the counter is very nice and speaks fluent english.

Laundry was missing and many items were totally destroyed by staff. The staff are unpleasant, rude and unhelpful. They argued, called me a liar, and accused the error of being my fault.
The hotel is dirty and old. The room was freezing cold! No towels were provided to the room!
If you want to be treated awfully and disrespectfully in a cold, unpleasant hotel, then stay here.

Dear Friend In fact, we apologize for the laundry issue, since the Hotel took care of the cost of your ropá, that's why the administration ordered, do not pay any day at the hotel, it was more than a week I stayed at the hotel, not paying a single dollar, and on the contrary, you broke the sheets of the hotel, greed and unfortunately, the staff did not clean your room since you returned drunk and did not open your door to Cleaning Arnold Manager

We stayed two nights in this nice hotel. The hotel rooms are modern and clean. There is free w-lan, which is very fast! We really liked the service and the Staff was very nice and helpfull. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a bit offside but still very nice. There is a possiblility to take breakfast, which we did not need.

Friendly staff (english speaking). Good service. Fine breakfast with eggs and fresh fruit. The rooms are warm decorated and (most of them) look out on the street.
Walking distance to the historic centre is about 15 min.

Spend the extra cash to get somewhere clean. Sheets were dirty- small hairs and dirt throughout. Our room didn’t have ventilation and it smelt of mold and mildew. No warm water and we arrived after a 5 day trek with no shower.

I guess we shouldn’t have expected better for the price. Just don’t do it

Its location isn't the best and it is surrounded by hardware stores. It's not that far away from the plazas so you can walk there if you want. Food was average and sometimes we couldn't get any hot water. Service was good and they tried to be accommodating.

I have no complaints about the hotel itself... it was very nice. A little cold at night, and the room was not cleaned when we first arrived but that was quickly taken care of. The only problem I had was the surrounding area. It's not dangerous, but it's definitely not nice either. It's all mechanic shops and the fumes from the buses and cars once you get onto the street are SO strong it will make you want to throw up. The area itself is quite safe though. The staff was very nice, especially Kevin, and they want to make your stay as nice as possible. I would suggest it for a traveler on a budget. Be advised that it's about a 15 minute walk to the main plaza, but it's a nice walk, and you get to see a part of Cuzco that you wouldn't normally venture out to.
