Unaytambo is located on a pedestrian only street so it is quiet and peaceful. It is also only a 5 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas.

The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a constant supply of hot tea and coca leaves to make tea for the altitude. The buffet breakfast (fresh fruit and juices, cereal, breads, meat and cheese) is delicious and starts being served at 5:30am so if you have an early tour, you will be able to eat.

Cusco can be cool at night, even in the summer. Our room had panel heaters that took the chill out of the air. The beds had warm duvets and heavy blankets. The shower had a strong supply of hot water as well.

We had a lovely stay and would book Unaytambo Boutique Hotel again.

The service was super friendly and helpful. I guess for security reasons, the front door was always locked but reception staff were always quick to let us in. It meant everytime we entered there was a brief chance for conversation. Our luggage was safely stored when we left it overnight to go to Machu Picchu; the rooms were charming, spacious, warmed by efficient heaters and they were very clean and quiet. Would highly recommend this small boutique hotel.

The Unaytambo Hotel was AMAZING. It had the perfect amenities, comfortable rooms, a great breakfast, and the kindest staff. It had an outdoor patio area that was so relaxing to sit at and was overall just a great experience.

We originally had a reservation with another hotel that, unbeknownst to us, was closed, leaving us with nowhere to stay as we made our way into Cusco. Unaytambo was right around the corner and welcomed us in immediately.

The entrance of the hotel is locked at night and a staff member is always there so we felt super safe.

It's a short 10-minute walk to the city center which was great!

The hotel room itself was superior. Clean, comfortable, inviting, and charming. I am hoping to return to Cusco and will absolutely be staying here again!

Historic hotel with unique rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, and a wonderful breakfast. Room was larger than I expected and had a mini fridge. A driver even picked us up at the airport when we arrived; we just had to reach out a couple days ahead of our visit. Would highly recommend!

Hotel was in a great location within the historic district of Cusco. It's literally right next to the church that is the center of the historic district (I opened my window and looked at it). It's a 5 minute walk to the central market where we would pick the amazing Peruvian fruits for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The rooms are really spacious and very clean. I had a room with 3 beds in it, and still plenty of space.

The breakfast was great and they took care of us for all our needs.

We're already looking forward to coming back here in the future and staying here a few more days as we explore the city.

The hotel staff and location is amazing, the hotel itself is beautiful and rooms are. The floors do creak but thats expected when stay in a historic place. Showers were hot and rooms had heats break was good but could have more selections and be replenished but otherwise would definitely come back. Thank you John for helping out with anything we needed.

This historic hotel is exceedingly clean, quite charming, and has a great location. It is located in a small alley which makes it very quiet. The staff was very attentive and quite helpful. We would happily stay there again if we travel back to Cusco!

Lovely hotel, in a great location. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the beds are comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. They safely stored luggage when left for 5 days to do a trek. Breakfast is delicious and tea is available all day. The secluded courtyard is a lovely place to relax in the sunshine.

This is a great hotel, we stayed in Cusco for 4 days. Breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff is always trying to help you with everything.
We stayed in Aguas Calientes for one night and we left our bags here to travel just with a backpack. When we returned, the bags where already in our room and they where ready for our return. Just great if you are tired returning from Machu Picchu.
In Cusco we moved around with a driver because we don't like the tours, I hate to go inside a bus and wait for people.
We met this amazing guy called Juan Carlos and he was our driver in Cusco, he took us to the secret valley (Pisaq and Ollantaytambo), Moroi and Chinchero. If you plan to go to Cusco and stay here, ask for Juan Carlos to drive you around.
Location is excellent, just near "El templo del Sol" and a few blocks away from Plaza de Armas.

My family of 5 stayed here for 4 nights, 2 before and 2 after Machu Picchu. The wonderful staff was the highlight of our stay--everybody spoke English and worked really hard. Melvin, who worked the front desk most of the time we were there, gave us great restaurant recommendations and attended to our every need. The breakfast was okay. The building is quite old and has a lot of character--great "bones", and some huge beautiful rooms with really comfortable beds. So we were disappointed that it was lacking in some pretty important ways. The space heaters in the rooms were inadequate to heat them; when we complained, they gave us much better heaters which made the bedroom toasty. However, when we returned after MP, they had given the good heaters to other rooms and no others were available, so the rooms were cold again. The shower temperature was erratic (and you have to make sure to ask them to turn on the hot water as they turn it off in the middle of the day)--the first two nights, when we were the only ones in the hotel, the water was lukewarm; when more people were in the hotel, it alternated between scalding and freezing, with no way to regulate it. Also, the water pressure was consistently weak, and when combined with the lack of heat in the bathroom, made showering a miserable experience. The lighting was also inadequate--virtually impossible to read in the room. Finally, there is a huge disparity in the room sizes. We had 2 rooms facing the street, which were HUGE with high rafters. Our double room had a double and a single bed; the triple room had a double and 2 single beds; both lovely rooms. When we returned from MP, they replaced our triple with a tiny room at the back with 3 single beds, no window, and no room for luggage. We ended up putting 3 people in our "double", and 2 in the "triple." Both rooms were the same price! If you stay here, insist on one of the large rooms facing the street.

We had an upstairs room, entered via a large balcony. The room was large and comfortable. I suspect all the rooms are similar. Very nice hotel, good central location and friendly, helpful staff. Would stay there again.
