I've been to Cuzco multiple times as I run personalized tours to Machu Picchu. When I arrived in August, my "go to" hotel had closed for good without notifying me. Needless to say we had to find something and quick. I walked towards the plaza and came across Amerinka Boutique Hostel. I walked in and was blown away by the decor and how welcoming it looked. The staff was quick to work with me and let me see the room before booking. I liked what I saw when I went into the room and to seal the deal I ran the water in the shower and it was hot! So I was sold. I stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The beds are extremely warm and comfortable, the common reception area had a spread of hot teas and coca tea. They had a full library and tv and oxygen if needed. Breakfast exceeded my expectations. Usually when breakfast is included it's nothing to cry home about. This was different. They had a buffet of fruits, breads, jams, coffee, tea, juices, yogurts with granola, meats, eggs, bacon, and multiple cereals and fruit breads. Definitely a good lay out. Also, they have 24 hr room service a bar and free wifi. The staff members were awesome and very accommodating. Not to mention the location was great. It's about 3 streets away from the action of the plaza de armas within 3 minutes of walking distance. It's also great because this particular street is free from traffic which is a plus. The staff also offers organized tours, I know my way around the area so I didn't take advantage of this but I'm sure they know what they are doing since every other aspect of the place is flawless. I recommend it 100%! Understand that I am not a traveler that needs extreme luxury. I need a nice cozy room with a comfortable bed, hot water, good service and location. And this is what you will get here! Enjoy!

The Amerinka hotel is very accesible and conveninet. Located right in the heart of Cusco, they offer clean rooms with hot water (not every hotel in Cusco does). The staff was amazingly lovely. It is not a 5 star hotel but the price-service relation is extremely good.

We stayed here 2 nights in November with a 1 night gap in between. We booked 2 rooms for 3 people. We paid a bit more than most place were asking for one triple/night. The rooms were in an interior part of the hotel and very quiet. Except at 7 AM when the staff seemed to think it was appropriate to clean the hall in front or our room. They kept our luggage while we were traveling to Machu Picchu and put us in the same rooms when we returned.

The hotel is in a terrific location. On a pedestrian street in the historic center. Just a few blocks from the major plazas and markets. Do not book a hotel to the North-East of the Plaza de Armas as there are loud nightclubs nearby.

The rooms are clean. Nothing fancy. They have a nice terrace on the third floor with great city views and a table to hang out at. On the lobby floor (floor above street level), there is a large lounge area with tea (and oxygen) available. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was fair. We ate around 9 (which is late) and the eggs were cold and the fruit not replenished. We were in the low season so the only diners. Not sure how the breakfast would compare with more people around.

My husband and I traveled with 2 other adults from California (US) late November 2013 and stayed at AmerInka for 3 total nights through a Living Social 12 day Peru/Amazon deal through Kaypi Tours. Kaypi selected this hotel. Based on our stay, I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Pros
-Clean
-Felt safe
-Convenient location
-Close walk to Main plaza, San Pedro Market, shopping, restaurants, museums and the Qorikancha ruins. It will take about 20-30 minutes to hike to Saksaywaman, but we did it.
-Complimentary breakfast
-Complimentary selection of teas (including coca leaves), hot water and room temp water in the living room/communal area 24/7 !
-Hot shower
-Friendly staff
-Nice view on the Rooftop to snap a few quick photos
-Staff allowed us to store our luggage when we went to the Sacred Valley for a few days
-Slept comfortably
-Free WiFi, works best in communal spaces
-Staff allowed us to use their clothesline to hang our wet clothes before we checked out
-Very clean lobby bathrooms (although not all stalls will have toilet paper)

Cons
-No Elevator; the Peruvians like climbing stairs ;)

Side notes:
-Bedroom had the following: 2 full beds, dresser with handful of hangers, TV, floor heater
-Bathroom had the following: hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap
-They provide 2 computers for guests to use
-Breakfast buffet offers a nice selection of: scrambled eggs, sausage, sliced fruit on a platter, several yogurt drinks, few type of juices, pastries, breads, teas, hot water

Happy Travels!

This is a boutique hotel...it is centrally located on the noisy San Franciso Plaza; and it is an oasis. The rooms (away from the street) are cozy with steaming hot showers, decent internet connections, and yummy heavy andean blankets on the beds. The continental breakfast includes a variety of local juices, fruits, breads, and teas. The lobby serves as a tea & tv lounge. The staff is simply wonderful, the manager, Denny, and his team make every effort to communicate and serve. When our departure flight was cancelled at the last moment, they scrambled in order to find us rooms so that we'd have a place to stay the night. These were our third and fourth visits to this jewel, it won't be our last.

We stayed for two nights at the Amerinka and cannot speak highly enough of the staff. The hotel itself is located right in the centre of Cusco - rooms are fairly basic but clean, breakfast is good and the staff really went out of their way to help us during our stay. We felt so welcomed and looked after - would definitely go back to Amerinka and would like to say a huge thank you to all of the team.

Right in the centre of the historical old town, on a walking street (no cars) with plenty to see nearby. Hotel is older, but being maintained. Rooms are clean, and staff are very friendly and helpful Marked as a 3 star, but probably just barely that. Still it is all you need. Hotels in the old buildings seldom have windows in the rooms. Rooms seem to be reasonably sized. No elevator, Lobby upstairs from ground floor. Staff eager to help with bags. Breakfast buffet is excellent in a larger pleasant couple of rooms upstairs (with windows). Inexpensive laundry service. Restaurant right downstairs might be connected, and serves all day long.

Nice big triple room (we checked in as a family) and great service. Hotel is in a great location close to the main square and along one of the main malls. Staff were friendly and helpful and when I casually hinted that it was my wife's birthday, they turned up with a whole birthday cake to our room with her name on it!

They offered great continental breakfast with lots of fruit. Only gripe was the rooms were a little dark. Also the shower pressure was inconsistent and quite slow at times. No hot tap water in the sink which should be looked at. Other than that will recommend as price was attractive and the position was great as you were a little removed from the main drag but not too far.
