Normally we don't write any reviews, but an hour after checking in we already knew that this place deserved a good one. host Ivan welcomed us extremely friendly to this lovely place and immediately answered all our questions regarding tours for places we wanted to visit. This made everything super easy to arrange and allowed us to enjoy our time more. Very calmly he laid down all our options!

We had originally booked 5 nights but in the end we extended our stay with 3 more nights. After having done a tour to Manu National Park we decided to come back for 2 more nights, it truly felt like we came back home.

One evening Ivan had organized a small campfire in the courtyard for a group, he allowed us to join in and have a few drinks. Ivan goes above and beyond to provide his guests with the best possible experience, we were amazed by the passion he has for running this place. He does this together with his family, all of which are friendly and speak English.

The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere is lovely. We enjoyed our walks from to the city centre, the distance is not far and takes you past several sights. There is also a cheap and good supermarket at close distance. Wifi works great, breakfast is good!

Cusco is an amazing place to be and staying at Usgar San Pedro Boutique will only make it better.

Thank you, Roy and Laura

The best hotel ever!!! It feels like HOME. Ivan was so helpful, kind and generous. We originally booked for 3days stay and charged us the same rate for the extension coz honestly, we don’t want to leave Cusco. I consider the city one of the safest place. The room that we stayed in is cozy and the space is quite huge. Location is right next to the restaurants, churches and market. I even felt like Ivan is our father because he will literally send us off for our tour pick up. He also help us in arranging all of our TOURS without any hassle. He also make sure to send us a breakfast whenever our tour starts early, as early as 4am. Im really glad, I stayed here and definitely will come back

We originally planned to stay for 2 nights in Usgar but we ended up extending it to 4 nights. Despite our hectic schedule, our host Ivan is very accommodating. He treated us like part of the family. He answers all the queries even late at night😝. Room is very clean and my friend and I love the washroom (we are very particular on this.) We love the vibe of the hotel, very relaxing. All the staff are friendly, even if sometimes we are being nosy. They made us feel at home. Breakfast is splendid too. If I can rate this humble hotel to 7 star, I will😍. Cusco is very much open now (despite the news online.) We encourage all the people who likes to visit the country to go for it. It is very safe and I can’t say anything about Peruvian people. The nicest and sweetest people on earth❤️

My experience at Usgar San Pedro Boutique was deeply disappointing, culminating in what I can only describe as the worst service I have ever encountered, paired with an incident where I was robbed. The distress and inconvenience caused by this experience have led me to strongly advise against anyone considering a stay at this establishment. In light of these events, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Usgar San Pedro Boutique to any traveler seeking a safe and welcoming place to stay.

This was the hotel I stayed for the longest time during my visit to Peru. The owner, Maritza, did everything she could to make us comfortable and solve anything that would show up.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are big and the bathrooms were clean, with the sink area outside, which made them more usefull.

The down point is that every room, except for the reception, was very cold. The breakfast room was very hard to stay in and all the breads were like they were just taken out of the fridge. And the towels always felt like they were wet (which an ironing could resolve).

And although the staff is really nice, truthfully, there should be, at least, one more person working there. Reception was empty lots of times and breakfast was left alone because the person needed to take care of something else.

The only one thing that upset me (and this happened more than once in Cusco, but never in a hotel) was that when were already paying for the stay, without any previous warning, 5% were added to the payment due to use of credit card. Well, booking doesn’t have any additional info on that and a credit card is requested for the reservation. And I don’t think a lot of people have a whole bunch of cash to pay for 5 nights in a hotel, specially without any warning about it.

Anyway, as I used all the cash I had to pay prt if the stay and get rid of the money, and we were having difficulty to call an Uber, Maritza was very kind and offered to pay for our cab to the airport (10 soles).

If I ever went back to Cusco, I would give it a shot again.

This hotel is run by Fraudsters! Avoid staying here and getting your vacation ruined by these incompetent people. The administrator Maritza is a fraudster and her tour agent Pancho is just scam artist, she ruined our machu pichu experience by not getting us tour she primised, and then blaming it on her partner - Pancho.
- Hotel has no Heat and rooms are freezing cold
- Running water is ice cold and take 15-20 minutes to heat up
- Rooms were not cleaned daily, no new fresh towels, one tiny bar of soap
- The buffet breakfast was not buffet at all, you get jar of hot water, slices of cheese, bread, and glass of juice.
Worst of all, the service of Maritza was just horrible, I emailed Hotel all the details of of machu pichu tour, and entrance times, but then when she gave us tickets it was clear our tour was not for AM but for noon leaving us 2 hours in machu pichu only.

Then her travel tour partner Pancho arrived at hotel and told us that Train company called him and the train was not available in the times, so he re-booked for later time, he offered to speak to booking agent. She told us that train never called, and Pancho called her himself to cancel our train tickets and book another times. So Pancho actually re-booked our train for a later and earlier return train leaving barely any time for tour of machu pichu, then lied to us that it was not his fault. Same story came from Maritza who cried about Pancho blaming him for everything.

When we arrived at aguas calientas no tour guide was there as promised, we had to call frantically and ask him, finally after an hour we found a guide hiding somewhere in the plaza. We asked for English guide but surprise surprise our guide only spoke spanish.

Bottom line is that because of the scams Maritza Quispe Ayerve runs we were cheated out of a Machu Pichu experience, and only had 2 hours there, and then had to listen to her/and her partner Pancho lies and explanations.

There are so many really nice hotels in Cusco for the money Chavin charges, No wonder we were the only customers at the hotels.

Most importantly just avoid Chavin, and go with an Honest company, that cares for their customers, and won't lie, and ruin the Machu Pichu experience for you!

Good morning Mr. Eugene. As a partner of the hotel Chavin, I must and I want to apologize on behalf of my partner Mr. Nico Valdivia who had the misfortune to contact the travel agency SERVICIOS TURISTICOS DESTINO PERU S.A.: ..... With their representative - the General Manager Francisco Camero (Pancho), who was in charge of ruining your tour of Machupicchu as you indicate, therefore your complaint should be addressed to the chief travel manager of the travel agency, but not to my person or to the Chavin hotel. Then I must remind you again that you know perfectly well that with my person you did not make any kind of arrangements, I only took care to reserve the two double rooms that you had requested at that time. Finally, with great sorrow, I must tell you that you are not being very honest with your comment, because when you arrived at the hotel, you personally told me that you loved the hotel, then you sent me a message asking me to stay one more night, I attach your message by WhatsApp. 27/09/17 12:11:38: ‪+51 974 457 797‬: Por favor avisame de mis boletas y entradas. Big rooms with heating (a couple of hours per day, in the evening), comfortable beds, large showers with hot water. Fair breakfast: fruits, bread, jam and cake. Good position: only ten minutes walking from plaza de armas; near the hotel there are a laundry, two cheap restaurants and a good bakery. The only problem is that they close the door at 9 pm, so if you go out when you come back you have to ring the bell... many times. For the same reason, if you have to get up very early in the morning make sure they know it.

Due to extremely busy days in Cusco, hotel rooms were scarce and we ended up in this hotel. It is slightly farther away from the Plaza de Armas, but still only a 10-15 min walk. It is very clean, simple and slightly spartan with regard to decoration. Beds very comfortable and showers lovely. Breakfast simple, but sufficient. WiFi super, actually the best we’ve had in Peru.

One crucial tip: do not stay in room 301 or 302 which are large, but located at the front of the hotel. These rooms are excruciatingly noisy at night. Cars passing (and Peruvians like to use the horns of their cars day and night), people yelling, dogs barking.. If you want any rest and sleep, stay in a room in the courtyard.

The hotel is set in a former convent with the building running around a generous patio and rooms on two floors of its three sides (the fourth hosts the breakfast room and the reception). Rooms are very large and so are bathrooms. Everything is clean and rooms are appropriately endowed with all the needed items. There are radiators but I did not need use them. Staff and management are excellent, very helpful, kind and cheerful: they were always there with advice, they stored my extra luggage when I was trekking. Furthermore, in a town that can be quite busy and noisy, my stay at the Chavin was quiet and relaxed. By all means recommended.
