A hidden place with unique atmosphere. The family run hostal with its amazing view is waiting for you. Located in the heart of Cuscos picturesque neighborhood San Blas, above the city center, it's a perfect place to chill and calm down. And at the same time it's close to the touristic spots of the city. New owners since 2016, waiting for you to come!

Once you've recovered from the climb up the stairs, which is only a bit tough due to altitude (but come on it's good training for Machu Picchu), you'll be at the door of the best situated hostel in town. The view over Cusco is amazing. The rooms are clean and warm. Most don't have windows to the outside, but this is compensated by a common area and breakfast room with fantastic views and lots of light. The owner speaks fluent English and is very friendly and helpful. They can also organise tours and buses at competitive prices, but aren't pushy if you would rather organise yourself. Definitely recommend this place.

This is a quiet hotel located on a mountain about a 10-15 minutes walk from Cusco's center plaza. It's mostly steep stairs up to the hotel from the center so if you struggle climbing uphill, don't book this hotel. Not many people stay here so if you want to meet other travelers (which I highly recommend, especially in Cusco), this isn't the hotel for you. The staff don't speak any English, but are very kind and do their best to accommodate you. The rooms are okay. The beds are not comfortable and the rooms need updating. The rooms are freezing at night and the heater provided didn't work, but they give you 2-3 heavy blankets. Don't count on hot showers. You need to ask for breakfast and it's the standard Peruvian breakfast - coffee/tea, bread, spread, eggs, fruit, and a fruit juice. Wifi is okay. It's a cheap hotel so you get what you pay for.

Overall, I think this hotel is okay for short stays and couples who want quiet nights. As a solo traveler, I would pick a hostel closer to the center.

Helpful staff and good breakfast await after your climb up to this hostel. I was fortunate to have the dorm room to myself, and it was a nice walk to the washroom at night, looking out over the lights of the city.
The heater in the room was a big help. It was my first place on this trip, and I enjoyed the 4 nights there immensely.
I would recommend it for any budget travellers.

My girlfriends and I stayed here for 4 days before the Inca Trail. She got very sick due to altitude and the staff were concerned, friendly and helpful the whole time. Breakfast is big and tasty, private rooms have an amazing view of the city, there is a good book exchange and the staff are very helpful with everything.

After the trek we came back for a couple of nights! Wifi works all over the hostel including rooms.

The rooms were clean and it is just far away enough to be completely quiet at night, but only a 5 minute walk into the town.

My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! The view of the entire city from the breakfast terrace is incredible. Its a few steps up to it, but its totally worth it!
The breakfast is great, pancakes, eggs, tea, orange juice and toasted bread.... exactly what you need to start the day to explore the beautiful city of cusco :)
The staff are amazing, the two woman that cook, clean and wash your clothes are lovely, and Luis and his dad (the owners) are awesome!!!! Luis speaks amazing english and is really cool!
There is even a huge wide screen tv where you can chill and watch a dvd....(they have hundreds to chose from).
The rooms are really clean and nice too, with a lock on the door, and the bathrooms always have toilet roll and hot water. It can get a little cold at night, but we were given a little plug in heater....amazing!!! Also there is free wifi and they provide towels. And even better its super cheap...11$ a night!
Ok so as you can see, we really loved this hostel and would highly recommend it, I have nothing bad to say about it......Definately stay and experience it for yourself!! :)

Absurd - I arrived in Cusco in the afternoon and, after clambering up the steep steps to this place, waited AN HOUR ringing the doorbell (which I don't think works) and banging on the door. No one came. I was unable to check in and was left wandering the streets of Cusco at night and alone to find a new hostel.

I've had times where I showed up at a hostel and had to wait around a little, and I also don't mind wandering around or climbing steps. In general I think I'm pretty tolerant of all of that. But to simply be completely absent without any forewarning is just ridiculous.

The staff here are very helpful and friendly, and there's Max the cat who is also there to greet you every day! Breakfast is included and is much better than a lot of other hotels' offerings. You get the usual bread and jam, with tea and coffee, but they also had eggs and crepes. The location is close to everything, but far enough way that it is quiet. The walk is all uphill or stairs, but it gives a nice view of the city below. We had a private bathroom in our room, but the shower only sometimes had hot water, so we just used the shared bathroom to shower which always had hot water and was always clean. My one complaint is that our room was quite cold, so at night we usually slept with some extra clothes on.

We stayed for 1 night in their four bedroom. Room is spacious and we get to have our own bed instead of usual bunkbed. Staff is great. Great communal space with excellent view of san blas area. Minus one star for the bathrooms. While there's one each floor. Hot shower is only available on the second floor during our stay. Otherwise, great budget hostel.

The welcome Cusco Hostal was completely unknown to us before we arrived. The owner asked us at the bus terminal at 6AM in the morning, if we need a Hostal, double room with private shower for 50 PEN. It seemed to be a bad Hostal, but it turned out, that the owner is really nice und helpful and the hostal really cute.
The owner organised by a taxi to the hostal, made breakfast and gave us a lot of useful tips about the city and machu Picchu.
The breakfast is nice and included in the price, everthing is clean and you are allowed to use the kitchen us well. It feels like living in a family with the option of getting your private time and room.
The owner took care about our luggage for three days while we were traveling to machu Picchu.

The hostal is like 10 mins from the city center uphill. However it's doable for someone who is not trained. After two weeks in the Anden it feels really easy.

All together: a nice little and silent Hostal surrounded by wonderful restaurant in san blast. Worth it to stay here.
