The Hostel is quite close to the Cusco downtown, a 10 minute walk. It is located in a residential are so you get nice quiet nights. There is a daily breakfast that varies, eggs, fruit, or flapjacks. The hostel also help book trips and activities. I stayed in a shared dormitory with shared lavatories. They are all cleaned everyday, there is a terrace where you can enjoy a book, or a cup of water. It is a quaint little home, I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. If I am fortunate enough to visit the city again I will be sure to stay here.

A three night stay turned 20. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. When the national emergency was declared many hostels and lodging establishments tossed guests out of their establishments or enacted draconian policies this place did not. We were graciously allowed to stay as long as we needed until we were able to be repatriated. The room rates stayed the same, we were still given our free breakfast, and were allowed to live our lives as best at the situation allowed. The best analogy I could give is that staying here is like getting stuck at aunts house longer than expected. The staff was quite friendly and accommodating especially for the unforeseen situation.

My friends and I stayed here during a sudden 2 week quarantine period in Cusco due to our old friend COVID-19; and we could have not picked a better place to stay! The free breakfast every morning was wonderful to wake up to, the staff were incredibly helpful and exceedingly friendly. The TV room has a tabletennis table and foosball table, and the outdoor courtyard is perfect for relaxing or getting a pump on. It is also perfectly situated between convenience stores, restaurants and food markets

My partner and I stayed at Recoleta for 3 nights (2 nights before a trek and 1 night after). Two things really struck me: the friendliness of the staff and the location.

Staff: Everyone at Recoleta welcomes you like family. For example, they all learn your name. They are also constantly checking up on whether you are satisfied with your stay. It is a great environment.

Location: While this hostel is not in the center of the touristy part of the town, it is incredibly close (13 min walk). I preferred staying here than in the center of Cusco because restaurants in the area are for locals (not tourists) and, hence, are much cheaper (and more delicious). It is also really easy for tours to pick you up here (in contrast to the center of Cusco).

I highly recommend this place!

I stayed here for close to a week and had a great experience. Due to COVID regulations, guests/groups all had private rooms at no increased charge. The host, Javier (aka James Bond), was super accommodating and even provided me with camping equipment for the Salkantay Trek. I traveled through Peru for 2 months, and this was certainly one of my best hostel experiences.

I came to the hostel by the recommendation of my friend. It was during the quarantine and not many places were accepting new visitors. I was arriving from Ollantaytambo in preparation for a potential flight home. Javier (the owner) graciously allowed me to stay once I explained my situation. I didn’t know how long I would need to stay, but Javier said I can stay as long as I liked and could pay day by day. He was so nice and really cared about my well-being. He also made sure we were stocked up on table tennis balls! The hostel itself was amazing. There are lots of common areas to hangout including a beautiful terrace, dinning area, garden and recreation room with a tv, table tennis and foosball table. I had a blast staying at the hostel and was never bored despite not being able to go outside. The staff were so friendly and would go out of their way to help us. They served breakfast every morning and were always available to assist us with anything we needed. I loved that the hostel is small so you really get to know the other guests and become a family.

Incredible staff, made me feel welcome from the moment I stepped in. The whole hospedaje feels cosy and homely, and the beds are like a warm hug. Very comfortable with several high quality quilts on every bed. The staff also helped me organise a tour on the day I arrived, stored my luggage when I went to Machu Picchu, and found my dropped earrings that I forgot about whilst leaving for a tour at 4am! Really wonderful place, very close to facilities, colectivos, and easy to walk everywhere. Made my Cusco experience that much special.

I felt like I was home here! Staff was so sweet and knew my name from day 1. Eclectic collection of toy cars, vintage beer, and other sculptures and art around, and unlimited coca tea to help with the elevation. Breakfast was something different each day, always with bread, butter, and jam. A 15 minute walk from the main tourist center of town was accessible while feeling more in a neighborhood with hole in the wall picanterias. I would rather stay here than closer to the tourist buzzing. They were also willing to hold my bag for several days while I went into the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu with minimal travel items. I wanted to stay here for longer! Wifi was spotty but worked enough, especially after staff rebooted it. Beds were comfy and warm in spite of the cool nights in Cusco, but the building is overall open-air so warm clothes might be needed when going to the kitchen for breakfast. Very down to earth and attracted travelers who I would describe that way too.

This hostel went above and beyond for travellers that had to stay during perus national emergency. The staff were always friendly and upbeat and would help you with anything you asked. The hostel was lovely and was equipped with loads to do such as ping pong, table football , Netflix and many more things.

Lovely hostel a short walk from the historical centre and main plaza. Really really nice, helpful owners and workers. Quite chilled out with a nice terrace and communal area. Showers were hot with good pressure and breakfast was fine! They have really good advice for tourism activities and you can pay them to go on certain day tours.

First of all, the people who manage this hostel are the most hospitable people I have ever met. During your stay, these people (shoutout to Javier) will make sure everything is set to your liking; and if something needs to be adjusted they do not hesitate to ameliorate the situation. For example, Javier frequently checked in on my friend and I to make sure the water temperature was hot enough for a shower, he offered to hold onto our belongings while we were out on an excursion to Machu Picchu free of charge, and we were even offered to upgrade our room to a private suite for only 5 soles!

Secondly, the breakfast is self-service, but the hostel is well equipped with a full functioning kitchen. I woke up to a fridge full of farm-fresh: eggs, butter, and toast. It does not disappoint!

Thirdly, this hostel is just a few blocks from the central plaza, which makes travel to the most exciting part of Cusco a breeze!

I have nothing but love and respect for the people who run this business! Please show them your love and support and I can guarantee they will make your stay in Cusco the experience of your dreams!
