Used this hotel as a bolt hole either side of sand or the 50km Inca Trail. Rooms are clean and spacious and hotel is in a good location for restaurants and bars. Hotel kept our suitcases for 4 days whilst we did the trek, putting them in our room when we arrived back. Would recommend.

Nice hotel for budget travelers. The staff is nice and helpful. Well located, a 5 minute walk from the center of town. Good breakfast. Downside is that the rooms facing the street are loud with street traffic. Hotel should invest in sound proof windows. Be ready to take some cold showers...

Stayed here before and after our Inca trail trip with Intrepid Travel. Hotel has a lot of character and is located in the central historic district. The first floor rooms are very noisy. You can hear everything in the lobby. They seem to only give these rooms to people spending 1 night. If you spend more than 1 night, you get rooms on the higher floors and they are much quieter. The rooms have no heat so it can get quite chilly in the winter. The beds came will multiple blankets so sleeping wasnt a problem. Our 1st room on the 3rd floor had a portible space heater, it took several hours at first but finally heated the room nicely although we had to keep the bathroom door closed at all times. After our trek, we were placed on the 1st floor for 1 night and this room did not come with a portable heater. But, after 3 nights on the Inca trail, it was all good.

Was on a tour (inca trail) and was told to leave our luggage in their 'secure' back room. Once we returned from the trek (3 days later) both of our combination locks had been broken into. Dishonourable staff do not even bother with this hotel.

Good location. 10 minutes to central square. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast.Clean and comfortable. You can get laundry done here too. There is no lift so if you have any mobility issues. Ask for ground floor room. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was nice, rooms were spacious but it was so noisy! Im a pretty light sleeper but even my friends who aren't said they didn't get a great night sleep either. It's a real shame because otherwise the hotel was lovely and only a short walk to great restaurants and the main square.

I think Intrepid Travel keeps this hotel in business. But it’s terrible. We’ve stayed in five different hotels in Cusco over the month due to a variety of tours, and for $10-$15 more a night, you can stay in way better places.

If you’re traveling with intrepid and staying before or after, I encourage you to try some place else.

The road noise is so loud, with cars vibrating the rooms. We asked for a quiet room, too! The rooms weren’t ready with pillowcases and they didn’t have towels in the bathroom. Space heaters were not adequate fur the space. Hot water in the shower was not reliable and WiFi didn’t work.

Floors are coming up and walls and ceilings look desperate for repair. Breakfast was standard. Staff seemed inconvenienced. Their scale to weigh our bags for the Inca trail hike was off by like 2 kg. We could have brought more, after we spent an hour trying to get our bags down in weight, but didn’t realize this until we were in the sacred valley and used a non stretched out scale.

I hate to write low reviews, but we were never comfortable here, and knew of better options elsewhere.

Stayed here before and after our Intrepid tour on The Inca Trail. Found the location great, the rooms modest but comfortable and the front desk helpful. Excellent breakfast offered every morning, with tea facilities in the lobby, and water and snacks available for purchase. The place had character which we enjoyed. Only negative was hauling bags up the stairs to our room. Would stay there again.

We stayed here the night before and the night after our Classic Inca Trail woth Intrepid. The first room we was slightly disappointing. The shower took about 5 minutes before warm water started running and the pressure was low. The ceiling in the bathroom was mouldy and the only toiletries supplied was soap. The room was facing the main road so we hardly got any sleep before the trek and as we were on the first floor, the could hear noises from the reception area. Both rooms did not have a working hair dryer. On our second night, we were on the fourth floor and the room was much better. Clean bathroom with good pressures and warm water. It was also much quieter as we were not facing the main road. I would recommend requesting for a room which is higher up facing away from the noisy main road.

We used the hotel as part of our intrepid inca trail tour. Location was really good, quite central, close to Jacks cafe, 10 mins from main square etc and meetings are held at the hotel.
Hotel is like someone's Peruvian house, barely any staff, come and go as you please, someone at the desk if you need.
Room was comfy and warm, yes the rooms are noisy, mainly from the staff working and some groups meeting/ leaving. This didn't really bother us as we were hardly in the rooms.
Breakfast was not included free as suggested. It was 15 Sol-£4.50ish which was fine. The breakfast is included for the intrepid stay days included. We added a day prior to the tour and a day after where breakfast was not included. Was so important to have that last extra day after the tour, would recommend.
Would stay there again for an authentic Peruvian hotel and to support the local small hotels-the bigger hotels looked as though they were in similar buildings. Normally stay in the likes of Hilton, Shangri la, ramada, Riu. Don't really do 3* just went with this as part of the tour, but it was very clean and appropriate for what we were doing. No issues!
Inca trail with intrepid was amazing, have written a separate review for this.
