Huauki is a marvelous hostel nestled in La Mariscal (the tourist area/ north of the old town). The employees are wonderful and helpful--they helped me plan my trip! There are 2 computers with fast wifi alongside the reception desk. The dorms are comfy too and the decor is beautiful. There is only 1 small bathroom, but if you're only there... More

The rooms in this place are really mixed, some are spacious with private facilities and offer great accomodation for groups however the dorm rooms with shared bathrooms aren't good value. The facilities are shared between too many people and the hostel staff aren't too excellent at moving guests out of rooms on time so you may overlap on space with... More

Location - perfect, very close to the main center in La Mariscal. Dorm rooms for 4 people or double rooms are available. Rooms are cleaned daily. Good sleeping. The day i arrived there was cold water in the shower, and the same situation continued the following day, so I couldn't take a shower for two days and then decided to... More

The location is good as you can walk everywhere. Restuarants and bars nearby,. Never felt unsafe but I heard of robbiries so be careful at night. The room I had was a kind of dungeon without windows. staff is friendly and did a wake up call at 4 AM. Restaurant has decent meals. Overal you get what you pay for.

We greatly enjoy our stay and was amazed by the hospitality of the staff. I really appreciate Aida Soto for helping us negotiating with the airline to locate our luggage that was missing on our arrival to Quito. With my very limited knowledge of spanish I won't be able to do it. I also want to thank and appreciate the... More

When you are traveling in South America you'll experience all sorts of weird things, noise, different quality, some places very cheap other places really expensive. For us this place was very cheap and good value for money. We never booked anything in advance and therefore we would always see the rooms before we checked in and leave if we didn't... More

We stayed here in total 6 nights. Very friendly personal which half of them are able to speak English. Breakfast is included, which includes one bread, scrambled egg and coffee/tea. The rooms are okay, but most of them are very noisy. Especially on thursday till saturday night, when the bar on top of the hostal opens. As I understood from... More

We arrived in Quito and were keen to stay nearby to good restaurants and bars, and Huauki seemed like a great option. They only had shared rooms left, but gave it to us and said they wouldn't put anyone else in there, which was really nice because we wanted a private room. We had heard the Mariscal area wasn't overly... More

After three months traveling South America, we managed to get the dirtiest and most disgusting room at the very end of our journey, at Huauki. We're sure they do have better rooms, but the one we got (number 8, on the backside of the house) was so water damaged and the walls were all covered with mould. There were even... More

The staff are really nice! They helped me and my girlfriend with everything from taxis to information and tickets. They speak english too which was important for us... We had a room right under the bar/nightclub so it was pretty difficult to sleep during the weekend.. But the room was very clean och the breakfast was really good too. The... More
