Hostal is located in an area without a lot of activity in the direct neighborhood, especially at night. Our cab driver had a hard time finding it (even with the Spanish directions provided by the hostal) but after a while we did end up there. Our room was big enough, with a private bathroom which was a bit quirky since...

I had the opportunity to return to la Posada Colonial in September of this year. I had been a few years earlier and enjoyed my short stay. I was glad to see the hostel had lost none of its character (in fact, it looked liked it had been recently painted and even better restored than Ihad remembered). The service was...

I am very mixed about this place. As others have said, Jaime and the staff are the best. This is a very quiet hostal in a fairly quiet location. The terrace offers fantastic views overlooking the city and there are many inexpensive restaurants a block away. At the bottom of the hill is La Ronda which gets very lively Saturday...

Jaime is an awesome loving guy who takes care of everyone and never becomes impatient whatsoever. He is always willing to help. The atmosphere is colonial and the location surpassed my expectations... close to downtown and tram station. There is a comunal kitchen and open space to chill out.

La Posada Colonial was my first stop in Latin America. I had read and heard a lot about Quito, how dangerous it is etc. And this old colonial house in the heart of historical center of Quito was like a sanctuary to me. It is a quiet, peaceful house with excellent location, very close to the main sites in the...

BUT Its possibly some of the best pizza I have ever had!) The Hostel is an older place high ceilings but very nice...

Hostal la Posada Colonial is an old building so it is colder inside than outside. We slept with 6 blankets above us not to freeze. One of the reasons to choose this hostal was the kitchen but it is a bit hard to cook as you only find cooking tools from the 30's so all the food was stuck in...

We just stayed at the Posada Colonial in Paredes y Rocafuerte in Quito, the hostel offers everything you need, the rooms are small but I think when you travel around nothing more is needed. The bath is ok, they have a very nice roof top terace with a great view on the Il Panecillo and its statue. The hosts where...

Room prices are reasonable. Kitchen facility are avaiable and well stocked. The owner is very helpful, if you need something just ask. Liked the stay in...

After a disappointing experience in Chicago Hostal, I moved to La Posada Colonial and loved it so much I stayed for almost 2 weeks. The hostal is located close to La Ronda, with plenty of cheap and local restaurants. The hostal is safe and well kept. Everything in the historical town is within walking distance - and there is a...
