This is a nice hotel to stay in for a couple of days in Quito. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and quite bright. Whilst there was some building work ongoing when I stayed here it did not detract from...More
Conveniently located in the Mariscal neighborhood. Really cozy room with great tv service, warm water, and unique architecture. Very pretty outdoor and common areas. Warm and friendly service and yummy breakfast.
We stayed at the charming Vieja Cuba on our last night of an 8 night trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. The rooms in this hotel are reminiscent of an old world hotel, and the staff was very nice. We ate dinner here and...More

Hi Steve, sorry if this is too late but I don't check tripadvisor regularly. It takes about 45 minutes from the airport to the hotel, maybe a little more in rush hour. We had transfers so I'm afraid I don't know the price. The safest way is as with the rest of the city to take an official cab with all the badges. That said, we used an unbadged taxi for another trip once and it was fine and in general we found the city safe - did quite a bit of walking at night to and from restaurants and bars. There were a few streets that looked dodgy but use commonsense and you should be fine.
