Located in the center of the city's night life district (La Mariscal), within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff. Super clean accommodations. Very safe; they "buzz" everyone in through the security door. Before you come, brush up on your Spanish; the staff speaks very little. Sometimes the hot water didn't work because we didn't have...

Rooms are comfortable, but a little spartan. Private bath, decent bed, fair lighting. A good location to explore Quito from. Good restaurants nearby. Price is not bad. Do not expect peace and quiet though. Could hear our neighbors coming and going at all hours.

This hotel is in the perfect location in the new Mariscal district. It is walking distance from the main plaza, restaurants, pubs etc. and yet in the quiet part of Calama street. A block away on Calama are noisy restaurants and pubs, but this place is quiet inspite of the close proximity to all the restaurants and pubs. The people...

We stayed here several nights in between trips to other parts of Ecuador. The staff were very helpful, the breakfasts good, and the rooms clean with comfortable beds. At night time we really enjoyed the fireplace in the lobby--a great place to sit and check email using the hotel's wireless (the wireless did not reach to our rooms). Our first...

My friend and I stayed at Casa Sol in June - coming and going 3 times as we traveled around Ecuador. The first room we stayed in was VERY small and dark with plaster peeling off the walls. It also had extremely unreliable hot water pressure for showers. When we came back we were given another room on the courtyard...

My friend & used La Casa Sol as our home base in Quito on our trip to Ecuador. We stayed there on three different occasions with overnight trips in between. Our first night, there were no double rooms available, so we each had a single room. I stayed in the loft, which was on the top floor & had a...

This place can charm anyone with its sunny facade and interior. It's cozy and quaint but right in the hustle and bustle of the tourist scene in Quito. Above the small lobby, each room is unique and tucked away in a corner or up a stairway. The continental breakfasts are delicious, with lots of options. The staff is super helpful...

We recently travelled to Ecuador and used La Casa Sol as our "home base" each time we returned to Quito. It is a cute, comfortable hostel in the midst of the Mariscal Sucre, a trendy area with lots of restaurants, plazas and shopping, and a lively nightlife in the plaza (we were there for a gay pride celebration as well...

As a travel agent taking a group of 14 to the Galapagos, I'm very glad we spent two nights at La Casa Sol with its Ecuadorian charm. It was nice to have someone waiting for us at the airport and we were able to hire him for a private city tour the next day. The hostel has much colorful personality...
