We had a nice stay in this little hotel with it's beautiful rustic decor and lovely rooms. Friendly staff and quiet surroundings, but still close to the Mariscal Foch street with all it's restaurants and pubs. Only wish the balconies had been better maintained, would have loved to sit outside!! All in all a good choice!

Excellent choice for a budget hotel. Location is walking distance from Foch Plaza with lots of local restaurants and bars. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable with a rustic charm. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful with recommendations on things to do as well as directions and assisting with taxis. The free wifi is excellent. I was...

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They speak very good English, they inform, you what and what to do, they call cabs and negotiate fares, they help you up on the stairs, there are no elevators and they even store your luggage if you are in transit. Salvatore was great help all around. The price is very good. About $45...

Nice and very helpful staff is the biggest advantage of this hotel. Location is not too good but it is not bad either Room are specious, however they need to be refurbish. Breakfast is not bad but nothing spectacular. They allowed us to leave our luggage for 3 days when we were on trip outside of Quito (free of charge)...

The Sierra Madre is a great choice for a cheaper hotel in Quito and still being in a nice hotel. The walls are a little thin, but it's an older hotel so to be expected. The breakfast is decent, continental style with eggs. It has hot water and free wifi which was welcomed after being in the Amazon. Just a...

Quito's climate is such that many buildings have no heat. Our room was cold. There were lots of blankets. I would take a hot shower and try to stay warm. Our towels stayed quite damp -- chilly. I'm not sure if the weather was particularly cool but the room was not comfortable in the evening. We asked for space heater...

Arrived at the hotel at 3am, luckily the hot water was working, as others in my group weren't so lucky. Basic, clean and comfortable, well located close to the Plaza Foch area with all its restaurants and clubs. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Filtered water available on each floor which was great. Wifi a bit patchy, but this seems...

US Missionary Traveler: Terrific, comfortable, service. Good price and the attendants speak good English. Quaint, quiet hotel, and the price and size of rooms are very fair. Tip: pay a few extra bucks to get a patio. Sleeping with the cool mountain air is perfect. Tucked away near several good shops and locations. Snacks and "essentials" are close, but restaurants...

This hotel was good hotel for the money. The staff at this small hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate recommending this hotel for it's large bright rooms and extremely helpful staff. Some taxi drivers had difficulty finding the hotel and a small map on the back of their business card would have been helpful.

We arrived twice at Sierra Madre and spent there 3 nights in total. The room is spacious with a good bathroom and shower (warm water -> yay!). It is within walking distance to the popular Plaza Foch and its easy to get a cab around the hotel. The breakfast is very simple (not a lot of bread), but gets you...
