This is a great hostel to stay at. It has a wonderful vibe, friendly staff, good location, and extremelygood value. The only thing that would make this place even better is free breakfast, but the price for beds is so cheap for the value, I'm ok with paying $3.50 for a good breakfast.

This hostel certainly made a good first impression but looking a little closer we got more and more frustrated. + The staff (mostly volunteers) are excellent; friendly, with good English, and happy to help however they can. + After a long journey, the beds were firm, warm, and very comfy with lots of blankets. + The location is pretty good,...

We stayed here on a night's stopover in Quito, so we weren't looking for anything fancy or expensive. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful, all of them spoke fluent English and were happy to organise taxis to and from the airport for us as well as give us advice on what to see in the city given...

My husband and I stayed at Colonial House twice while visiting Quito. They provided reliable airport pick up, which is always nice with a late flight. Paco at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The location is super close to Old Town, and only a couple of blocks away from Bandidos Brewery. The beds were firm, and the...

If you want a good shower do not stay here. We know electric showers are common in S. America but these were some of the worst we have had in 4 months travelling. And Quito is a cold place so not great. My girlfriend really feels the cold and in places like this it would make so much sense to...

We stayed there 2 nights, I recommend the breakfast nice fresh fruit and bread and eggs for 3.50$ good...

Huge place with a great character and garden. A good option for anyone wishing to explore Old Town Quito (the largest preserved colonial city in the world). I visited this hostel with my girlfriend and we stayed two weeks in total, using it as a base to explore the attractions around Quito. Rooms are affordable and clean, well suited for...

defenitly one off the worst hostel we stayed at: unwelcoming, mostly unfriendly and higly unqualified staf, not providing you with any practical information about the city, they can't even provide you with a proper map nor explain exactly where to get one, they dont' seem to care to help you as a fellow traveller! Their breakfast is overpriced as well...

We stayed 3 nights at the Colonial House and it was great. We stayed in room number 1, which was the top floor. If you're traveling in a couple, I would definitely recommend getting this room. It's the only room with a small balcony with a great view. The kitchen was right next to our room and was open for...

Hostal has several room options on three floors in large, bright colonial house in San Blas area of Quito. Found volunteers who staffed the hostal to be generally helpful, some more knowledgeable than others. Beds were comfortable and most private rooms had more than one bed. My favorite was #9, although it was on the top floor. Better value for...
