This is a very characterful, relaxing, friendly hostel that really does suit all needs. It has quaint triple and double rooms which was a nice change from being in hostel dorms! It has a really nice open common area with games, upstairs there is a cosy sofa area and a clean, fully functioning kitchen. The staff are very nice and... More

We had a wonderful time whilst staying at Colonial House in Quito. We utilised the hostel's pick up service from the airport (as we flew in around midnight and had heard some dodgy reports about Quito - we didn't have any problems at all throughout our stay) and this made our journey friendly, reasonably priced and hassle free. We had... More

Colonial House is a nice Hostel in the Central Historico district. We took a private room for 3 nights and it was very nice and peaceful. It was a garden room on the 2nd floor and it was huge with a private bathroom. The staff are helpful and friendly, and you are only a 10 minute stroll from Plaza Grande.... More

This is a great hostel to stay at. It has a wonderful vibe, friendly staff, good location, and extremelygood value. The only thing that would make this place even better is free breakfast, but the price for beds is so cheap for the value, I'm ok with paying $3.50 for a good breakfast.

This hostel certainly made a good first impression but looking a little closer we got more and more frustrated. + The staff (mostly volunteers) are excellent; friendly, with good English, and happy to help however they can. + After a long journey, the beds were firm, warm, and very comfy with lots of blankets. + The location is pretty good,... We stayed here on a night's stopover in Quito, so we weren't looking for anything fancy or expensive. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful, all of them spoke fluent English and were happy to organise taxis to and from the airport for us as well as give us advice on what to see in the city given... My husband and I stayed at Colonial House twice while visiting Quito. They provided reliable airport pick up, which is always nice with a late flight. Paco at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The location is super close to Old Town, and only a couple of blocks away from Bandidos Brewery. The beds were firm, and the... More

If you want a good shower do not stay here. We know electric showers are common in S. America but these were some of the worst we have had in 4 months travelling. And Quito is a cold place so not great. My girlfriend really feels the cold and in places like this it would make so much sense to... More

We stayed there 2 nights, I recommend the breakfast nice fresh fruit and bread and eggs for 3.50$ good... More

Huge place with a great character and garden. A good option for anyone wishing to explore Old Town Quito (the largest preserved colonial city in the world). I visited this hostel with my girlfriend and we stayed two weeks in total, using it as a base to explore the attractions around Quito. Rooms are affordable and clean, well suited for... More
