Stayed here with a group and loved it. Jorge and the staff there are very accommodating. Food is great too! Great hikes, bird watching and even just to relax with some friends. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful older property, but very well maintained. Very quaint, lots of restored antiques. Numerous hummingbird feeders and hummingbirds. Lots of places to walk on the property and good birding. Great local cuisine cooked fresh and served in the dining room. Lots of fresh fruit and juices. No WiFi in the rooms, but available if you find a place to sit...

The San Jorge Quito Lodge is part of the "Magic Birding Circuit" and if you want to see many birds this company has expert guides. Dr. Jorge Cruz and and fellow guide, Miguel worked very hard and showed remarkable skills in finding birds often going out of their way to locate a target bird when requested. We appreciated that the...

We went to three lodges. Lots of birds at all the lodges. Our guides were great. The food was so good I could talk about for hours. Our rooms were good but at Tandayapa and Milpe they were super. They took care of everything. We would go back in a heart beat. PS We got to photograph the Condor. Bob...

Very beautifull lodge, very good food, good birding and very good service. Lovely place to stay. Many hummingbirds at the feeders (six different species). Walked around with a very good birding guide and saw lots of birds.

We stayed at San Jorge Quito as part of a package that included stays at the other lodges at Tandayapa and Milpe as well. San Jorge organised everything which included all transfers and a number of day trips to a range of locations such as Otavalo and Antisana. The lodge at Quito met all our needs and the staff were...

Vacation. Experience. Adventure. Education. San Jorge Magic Birding Circuit was all of the above and more. Indeed, the San Jorge Magic Birding Circuit is a diamond in the rough…it’s relatively hard to get to but once you are there it shines with all the beauty and diversity Ecuador has to offer. My wife and I spent time in three of...

Ecuador is well known for its birds and the Magic Birding Circuit is a birder’s delight. With the help of our able guides, Miguel and Dr. Jorge Cruz (the owner), we logged over 300 species, which included at least 35 species of hummingbird, on our 15-day trip. In addition to the excellent birding, flora and fauna, we enjoyed the opportunity...

Luis Alcivar, an outstanding bird guide by any measure, led our twelve-day tour of the East & West Andes Slopes that began August 1, 2016. The group consisted of three participants and had the feel of a private tour with all the benefits of a bird guide and a driver. We stayed all but two nights at lodges run by...

One of a number of lodges owned by Dr Jorge Cruz - each one unique. I will write a separate review for each of the 3 we stayed at. We had 4 days to spend in Ecuador for departing for Galapagos. We wanted to visit the forest and especially see humming birds. Through a good email conversation, Dr Cruz suggested...
