My boyfriend and I came here during our South American vacation. We book a room with a gorgeous view of the ocean and the staff was very friendly and helpful with recommending things to do in the area. Room was comfortable and cannot complain.

Hotel was decent, but very old and the photos online are quite strategic - not exactly what the hotel looks like now. Stairs are a challenge with luggage- steep and narrow. Staff were very friendly and overall the stay was fine. Nothing to rave about though.

Spent one night after our cruise. They provided excellent service from providing us transportation to the airport and even arranged a four hour tour of the wineries. Cost was at least 50% less than the cruise line. Hotel had best view and was located close to stores and restaurants. They catered to our every need. They also spoke English which...

We went to Terraza Gervasoni in the afternoon and ordered a "tabla Atkinson" for sharing. We had to wait for ages until they brought us the food. Music was to loud and everyone was smoking althought we have a little baby. Food was expensive and not delicous at all. They used the cheapest cheese and olives from the supermarket. They...

We checked in here for a one night stay before boarding our cruise. This once charming hotel is getting a little run down and our room was very strange, the bathroom was down a spiral staircase on a lower level and there was barely enough room to sit on the toilet...very strange setup. Next time we'll find another option.

Dear Robert: We are sorry that the room has not been your like, the truth is that many people believe that the appeal of that room is that the bathroom is on a lower level. The hotel is a restored house and has been adapted so that each room has its own space and bathroom. Anyway we have anothers options...

This is a very old hotel. It is well localized but in a ver noisy and busy location, with parties all night along until 5 PM. Thus, it is not a convenient place for those wanting to relax and rest. The room Where I was had broken windows, the shower got 10 minutes at least to have hot water. The...

Dear: We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay, the truth is that our Hotel is a restored heritage hotel, probably not a hotel of your taste as it seeks more modernity. Every day we work to have a better service and improve. Regards

Was looking for a hotel to stay in, rather than a hostel- weren't too many in Valparaiso. But glad to find this one! Affordable hotel perched on a beautiful vista. A little hard to find- make sure you have your sneakers on as there are several stairs to go up to get to it. The hotel has an antique feel...

The hotel is located in central Valparaiso. We were lucky that we are in fairly good shape and were able to negotiate the numerous stairs inside the hotel as well as out side the hotel leading to any place that you wanted to go. Definitely not a place anyone who has difficulty negotiating steps would want to stay. Our room...

The hotel is housed in a building that was a private home for many years and the conversion has been modestly successful. The staff is fluent in English and most welcoming and helpful. The room in which I stayed required negotiating three flights of stairs. The view of the harbor was appealing, the bed was comfortable, BBC news was available...

An old building in an excellent location. Not for senior people. No elevator. Many steps to climb. The rooms are very basic. Size of the room is OK, but the bathroom is extremely small to the point that it is hard to get out of the shower. No real bath. Internet available only in the reception hall.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel is the fruit of lengthy restoration work to recover one of the homes of greatest cultural value in the hills of Valparaiso, measuring more than 11,000 square feet. This house was built by European immigrants circa 1870. The imposing building, now transformed into a boutique hotel, uniquely portrays, through its welcoming setting, the lifestyles of the generations of families that lived on the hill. The house’s architecture takes you back in time to the mode of life at the end of the 19th century. Luxury refurbishings concordant to the comforts of a five-star hotel interweave discreetly throughout the patrimonial air in the house, creating just the right cross between tradition and modernness. ... more   less
