Luciano K is a boutique hotel with 38 bedrooms, a blend of period and art deco design. On the hotel's ground floor you will find the entrance hall, bar and restaurant. A roof top terrace of 300 square meters acommodates: the spa, sauna, bar, heated swimming pool; and, spectacular views over Parque Forestal and Alameda Avenue. The building is a cultural jewel in the heart of the gastronomic Lastarria neighbourhood of Santiago, originally designed by the arquitect Luciano Kulczewski in the 1920s. At the time, it was the tallest building in Chile, the first with a lift and central heating. The glamour and elegance of the 1920s is showcased in the architecture and design, accompanied by the highest levels of comfort and technology you will find at the best international hotels.

In spite of the fact that the front entrance of this hotel is a mess with only graffiti filled concrete to welcome guests, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The prime reason was that the people who are employed here are top notch and treated us royally. Fortunately our room was far enough away from the street that our sleep was not interrupted by the protests that went on half the night on the street right in front of the hotel. We also enjoyed the bountiful breakfast buffet which included eggs to order.

This hotel was initially a first class apartment building with the first elevator in Santiago - which is still operating. The marble and wood parquet floors give an air of elegance. I stayed in room 408 which had a king size bed and ample space for a single traveller. The accommodations were very good with the only flaw an underpowered air conditioner that took awhile to cool off the room in the January heat, although it did eventually become comfortable.

The location is ideal if you are interested in experiencing the super restaurants in Lastarria and Bellavista as well the Bellavista nightlife, as it is just a 5 to 10 minute walk to each district. The breakfast food was fine - standard issue hotel coffee that was hot and did the job, cereals, cheeses, cold cuts and eggs cooked to order. Overall a solid hotel and a great value. I did not try out the rooftop bar or pool.

We chose this hotel for its location - it’s the only hotel in Lastarria where the best restaurants are located. It’s easy walking distance to Pablo Neruda’s house in Bellavista and the San Cristobal funicular railway and its viewpoint. In the other direction it’s only a short walk to Museo de Bellas Artes.
The breakfast was top quality served on the seventh floor terrace. Our room was quiet clean and comfortable. Excellent shower.
Above all, the staff are extraordinarily helpful and considerate. For example, for our second night, a Saturday, Adolfo had booked a great restaurant for us on his own initiative because we’d enjoyed the place he’d recommended the previous evening. We could never have got a table at the last minute - how good is that! Yes there is graffiti on the wall outside, but there is graffiti on every building in Santiago. The inside is beautiful and it is a historic building. Yes there are demonstrations a block away at Plaza Italia but there are demos in many many cities in the world. Daniel gave us level- headed practical advice and we felt safe to come and go. We are a retired couple and we enjoyed walking around Santiago day and night and can honestly recommend this hotel.

When arriving at the hotel thought there’s was a mistake as the outside of the hotel no signage boarded up windows and graffiti! However inside was perfectly fine. Later discovered that this was right in the middle of where local demonstrations took place !! Due to this we were told not to leave the hotel in the evening - we then had to eat and drink there which took forever they were not really very prepared
For this and choices very limited - as we were told this was “a normal Friday night demo “ would have thought extra provisions would have been made . I know it’s not the hotels fault what goes on outside. The rooms and breakfast were fine. The amenity of a swimming pool was really an exaggeration- it was very very small !

In the run up to our planned stay at Luciano K, I sent them a large number of messages that were all ignored, although they definitely had my contact details beause they tried to sell me an airport transfer that I had not asked for. This is completely unacceptable from a hotel with a price point and market position of Luciano K.

We had to cancel our stay at the hotel as our driver was not willing to drive there because of the abundance of tear gas in the air in the vicinity of the hotel that weekend. Whilst I obviously do not blame the hotel for the civil/political situation in Chile, they completely ignored numerous further messages in relation to the cancellation of our stay. They have also subsequently ignored a large number of messages sent on my behalf by the customer services department of Booking.com. The impression that we formed was that they were deliberately avoiding all communications to avoid allowing us to cancel without incurring a fee, and to avoid having to provide us with the refund that we are still seeking.

We are staying here during some moderate demonstrations, and we are still happy to be staying here. The Luciano K on the outside currently doesn’t look like much, but put that aside and come inside. You will be greeted warmly by staff who are absolutely thrilled that you are staying there. Each and everyone of them want to make sure you are happy, comfortable and safe.

Besides the staff, it is the extremely walkable location that makes this boutique hotel a little jewel. You can walk almost anywhere you want to visit from here. We easily meandered over to Plaza de Armes, Carroll Santa Lucia, Lastarria, and several other sights. Fabulous restaurants were a short amble away.

The bed and shower were really comfortable, as was the bar and breakfast area on the rooftop terrace.

As for the demonstrators, they were out and about. We watched from our window and adjusted our activity accordingly. Just so you know, we are two senior citizens who aren’t particularly brave or stupid. We would happily stay there again. The security at the front door was good, and the staff actually stepped outside to see how things were before we went out at night. There were no issues during the daytime or after 10pm.

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel on Jan 30th - Feb 2nd. Yes the hotel was boarded up but was very easy to find and staff are always there to open the door. Despite the small manifestations, it’s a great location. It is safe and walkable. Honestly it’s one of the best hotels we stayed at, once inside you will love it. Be open minded and you will absolutely love it.

We stayed at the Luciano K for three nights and had a wonderful stay. The staff were all very helpful and nice and spoke English very well, which was very helpful since our Spanish is limited. The location is great for walking to nearby restaurants, bars, and shopping areas. The hotel is as beautiful as the photos.

We got Wowed here.......,everything is outstanding and is worthy of a great review.
From the moment you enter the beautiful building the staff are wonderful, the receptionist I forget her name sorry, had a passion for her hotel and her city, gave us a summary of this beautiful building from the marble staircase to the 100 year old cage lift(don't be concerned they also have a modern lift next to it) the building oozes history, but is modernised enough not to lose its identity, right up to the rooftop cocktail bar, heated plunge pool and viewing platform for sunsets.

The breakfasts was an egg station and wonderful assortment of juices, cakes, rolls, meats and healthy food options.
The rooms are large with big beds and bathrooms are a big size.A month travelling Argentina, Peru and Ecuador this was probably the best hotel we stayed in.

If you’re looking for a hotel in Santiago with some old fashioned charm, this is the place! I cannot say enough positive things about this boutique hotel. We were greeted by Ignacia upon checking who was so helpful at the front desk. She spoke very good English and assisted us with our bike tour, restaurants, bus/subway/Uber and anything we needed. Absolutely a gem to deal with, was a great help as she spoke perfect English. The roof top pool was small, but refreshing. The roof top patio opens at 4:00pm and was so nice to relax at after a long day. This boutique hotel is in a great location, has a really cool old elevator and is reasonably priced for such a great location. Check out smooth with Adolfo and Xiomara. Can’t say enough about the staff, but Ignacio was AAA making the stay like a 5-star getaway!

We were there just a few months ago and they were open. They also have a Brit on staff, so i don't think it's a language barrier. I'd try giving them a call.

There is no shuttle from the airport to this hotel. We did have the hotel book a cab for us for a set price which was a good idea since we were arriving during a high traffic time. If you are coming off peak hours you could probably just catch a cab. There was a safe in our room. We went to Valparaiso by regular bus that leaves on a schedule. We used Tur Bus and bought our tickets ahead of time. the trip only took about 75 minutes. Bus fare is cheap but it also varies by time of day. We loved Valparaiso and I highly recommend that you spend time there and take a walking tour. It is amazing. I am envious that you get to enjoy the homemade yogurt that Luciano K Hotel serves with their breakfasts! It was divine. Make sure to check out their rooftop bar for a coffee or drinks too. Very helpful staff and a great location near the metro and shopping/restaurants/park. Be sure to have a traditional Chilean sandwich at Fuente Alemana which is located on the street right behind the hotel. They are incredible.
