Advantages are close to Metro universitas Catholics about 5 Mon walk and 10 Mon from Plaza Armas. Hill Santa Lucia right outside for relaxing walks. I can speak a bit of Spanish, but I am not sure hotel staff can speak much English. Breakfast is basic and is served from 08:00 to 10:00 and no earlier! I had toast watermelon...

An easy walk to the Plaza de Armas, Central Mercado, Santa Lucia, and good restaurants. It's an old hotel and has seen better days, but it is quiet, clean, and has a good, inexpensive restaurant on the top floor. The reception staff speak little English, but are very helpful. We have stayed here several times over the years. Probably the...

Positive points: Nice location. Near Lastarria , Fine Arts Museum, Parque Florestal, Old Market and city center. Wi fi ok. Negative points: No A/C, You have to ask for a fan, as Santiago can be really warm during the day. Temperature may drop in the evening. Poor breakfast (instant coffe or tea, milk, bread, toast, half slice of ham and...

Good location, close to town centre and restaurants. Staff friendly. Rooms a little old, and electrical system unreliable - fried our phone charger. Breakfast good. Lack of comfortable seating for two.

Location could not be better for lots of restaurants, including many reasonably priced, arts district including GAM campus, art museum and Opera House. Metro station also nearby. Staff friendly with good English language skills. Breakfast is mediocre but our expectations weren't high given the hotel rates. We had a large room overlooking the street with the park across the street.

I've been staying here for 8 years. I love the location and the accommodations. You can get a very nice suite. Yes, the place needs an update but I am quite satisfied and will likely stay again next year. The breakfast could use an upgrade as well. All in all from my experience it is the best buy in Santiago...

Older hotel with not many frills, but it was perfect for what I wanted, i.e. a decently priced hotel with a great location in a great neighborhood and within walking distance from many of the attractions of Santiago, along with restaurants, shopping and nightlife. Excellent choice.

Hotel Foresta is my favourite kind of hotel – minimal pretension; close (> 15 minute walk) to the city centre; great cafes and restaurants nearby; helpful, friendly staff; a clean, comfortable, cosy room with a well-appointed ensuite; and windows that open – all at a very reasonable price. The only negatives were that it is a bit noisy (but I...

The hotel was nothing to write home about, and could do with a bit more hygene (and bathroom maintenance, especially toilets flushing capacity). The staff was really, really unfriendly. Not for the faint of heart. The location was absolutely superb. Close to everything in the very heart of Santiago.

The rooms are a little dated, and basic as others have noted. However you can't beat the price and the location. It is walking distance to the metro, Bellas Artes Museum, the park system along the river, and the Lastarria neighborhood's bars and restaurants. Plus it is right across the street from the Cerro Sta Lucia park. Despite being a...
