Amazing boutique hotel in the most colorful part of town. Bellavista is bustling and vibrant with life. There are many old stately homes and manors which have been converted into homes, businesses and boutique hotels. My favorite being the Aubrey. This is truly a special place with impeccable service. The food is excellent but it’s the people who work here that make this a gem. If you are lucky enough to encounter Sebastian he will take great care of you and point you in the direction of anything worth seeing in this rapidly growing and ever changing city. We heard from a few people that this part of town may not be the safest at night and I must say that in our experience everyone was where nothing but friendly. We didn’t get a bad vibe at all, in fact we felt very welcome. If you are into photography this hotel and surrounding area are a gold mine!

We had one night in Santiago at the end of our trip and decided to treat ourselves by staying at the Aubrey, and it was a great choice. We wanted a place we could relax and be comfortable for the last night of our trip and we got exactly that. The restaurant and the bar were great for dinner and breakfast, and with all of Bellavista right outside the door there was plenty of other places to eat nearby before we headed to the airport. The hotel staff was also very helpful in co-ordinating airport pickup & drop-off, as well as other needs such as printing our travel documentation for us.

For me, a perfect hotel is historically or artistically unique with a flair for luxe. The first thing that immediately made my heart happy is the fact that it sits in the heart of the vibrant Bellavista Distract, but being at the edge of the Gardens and Zoo, it exists in it’s own tranquil world. You can walk down the street for dinner, music, art and revelry (Patio Bellavista with it’s concentration of venues is wonderful), then return to retreat within it’s walls amidst the sounds of waterfalls and singing birds. Being a boutique hotel, the building itself is an historical estate, we felt like the sole visitors, rarely seeing anyone else. The daily breakfast was lovely, and on our last day, having stayed out late the night before, they brought the spread to our bed. We stayed in the San Cristobal Studio, with it’s in room vessel tub and balcony overlooking the pool, and found it hard to leave in the mornings because it was so relaxing. Owners Max and Will were warm and inviting, the entire staff helpful and attentive, and midday Pisco Sours in the Piano Lounge were a delight.

I decided to veer from the bigger brand name hotels and booked a room at The Aubrey Hotel - and yes it's that exclusive they have forgone an instagram account!! It was the first boutique hotel to open in the city in 2010 and it still shines bright in this massive metropolitan. A tranquil oasis in the middle of a buzzing Bellavista neighbourhood, this hotel is luxury boutique hotel perfection. Set in a beautifully restored and massive Tudor-style mansion, originally built in 1927 for a high-profile politician, the hotel decor mixes old with new and each of the 15 rooms are uniquely and exquisitely designed - think cozy chic. The intimate pool offers great views of the city and the hotel is steps away from so much, its seriously one of those "diamonds in the rough" kind of places I have been fortunate to find throughout my travels. The staff were great, the breakfast was included for us given the rate and was just perfect and its literally walking distance to so much.
