My wife and I spent a delightful week at Hostal Rio Amazonas that happened to run over Christmas. The accommodations and breakfast were very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. One of the best attributes of the hostal is its location. The bus stop and metro are only a block away and you can walk to many of...

So glad I found this place in the lonely planet. I stayed here twice whilst in Chile and loved it!! The staff were so friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was amazing and the property was just stunning. Don't stay here if you are after something modern. If you're after a place that's cozy with character and charm - this is...

We enjoyed the cosy common rooms, the excellent bar food and the self produced plain yoghurt at breakfast. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The rooms are in very good condition. The hostal is ideal for exploring Santiago by foot. They offer to arrange transport from and to the airport.

Very nice and familiar hostal, central to many places and barrios in walking distances, cooking facilities, nice and peaceful green courtyard, self made breakfast items like yoghurt, jam, cake. Tiny but functional room.

This is a relaxing, clean, safe, friendly place in the best place to be for anyone's first time in Santiago, right next to Baquedano metro station and an easy walk to most sights. Terrific breakfasts in outside courtyard.

We really enjoyed our stay at Rio Amazonas. The location is great, walking distance to many attractions and very close to public transport. Our room was cozy & clean and the breakfast was probably the best we had at any B&B we stayed at in Chile.

Hostal Rio Amazonas was a cool hostal located in a beautiful old building. Hostal was centrally located, very close to Plaza Italia. Hostal interiors were charming. Our twin bed room with an ensuite bathroom was large and clean. The hostal did organise airport transfers for a reasonable fee. The breakfast was satisfactory. The free wireless internet connection was fast.

This is the second we've stayed at this hostal and once again found all staff to be very helpful. We like this hostal because it's centrally located with easy access to transport - Baquedano station - and sights and is very secure. It is located walking distance to the zoo and San Cristobal Hill and the restaurant area of Bella...

We would stay here again in a heartbeat. We had a private room and bathroom. It was clean, spacious and safe. The staff is extremely accommodating in helping to arrange taxis and other recommendations for activities. We loved the shared courtyard area - it was welcoming, colorful and unique. The location is perfect - easy access to Lastarria and public...
