The communication skills of the staff are very poor, and it is not only that their English is bad. For example, we did a reservation in the morning to visit the volcano they day afterwards which they confirmed to be ok. However, later they day, when I did a double check to see everything was ok, the woman from the...

The staff at El Refugio are knowledgeable and very helpful. I had no issues communicating with them and they were able to answer nearly all of my questions. I stayed in the 8 bed dorm and it was nice. The kitchens are small and can get crowded during breakfast and dinner, but it wasn't really an issue. The water gets...

Really nice, chilled hostel. Easy to meet people and really good vibes. The staff are really helpful with all the tours (if that's what you want to do they have really good prices) AND with things you can do on your own - they're not trying to push and sell the tours to you like some hostels in Pucon. They...

There is a nice stove, and many backpackers. The personal is really friendly. But WiFi didn't function at my telephone. They have many tour-options for booking. It's also a really ecological place. There are bags for shopping that you don't need plastic-bags, also they have a little garden. We slept in something like tents, they only costed 6000$ and it...

I absolutely loved my time in Pucón and staying at El refugio. It was one of my favourite places on my trip so far and this was largely due to the cosy and relaxed atmosphere that is created by the fire place and very welcoming and friendly staff. Tin in particular was very helpful even when he wasn't technically on...

We were either going to stay in chili kiwi hostel or here, and chose here due to location to town, couldn't have been happier. Peter was the most welcoming and helpful guy, and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere here was buzzy and it was a great place to meet fellow travelers and share stories and info. Everything you...

It is a beautifully designed hostel with everything you need to relax and chill or all the adventure tours you can handle for the duration of your stay. The staff here we're super friendly and helpful arranging food nights and giving tons of advice on what there...

“The dome tent is the best value. I stayed there for 4 nights and loved it. Be sure to bring earplugs because early mornings with guests can leave you grumbling. I also recommend bringing a flashlight for the evening and an eye mask to block the morning sun from waking you to0 early.”
