We stayed 4 nights at the hotel for our first visit to Singapore. It is perfectly situated in west end of Chinatown and easy to get to from airport on a direct line to Outram Park; also even closer to Chinatown stop so excellent for getting about to see the sights. Our hotel room was immaculately clean, and well serviced... More

I was keen to visit Hotel 1929 after thoroughly enjoying my stay at Wanderlust hotel last year, and seeing that this residence (part of the Unlisted Collection) has the same kind of quirky cool approach to hospitality. It's a design boutique hotel in every sense - from the cool retro touches like retro chairs in the lobby, to the fabulously... More

This hotel is situated in a quiet street of renovated shop-houses in Chinatown (about 7 min walk from Outram Park MTR station - on the airport line). The shop-houses have been immaculately restored. I was greeted with a complimentary drink ... and these are available throughout one's stay. There is good security - access by key card to lift, stairs... More

This charming little hotel is close to Chinatown and 2 railway stations which makes it quite yanfy to get around if need be. The staff are very friendly and went above and beyond to help. The rooms are small but accommodating.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. I got a corner room on 2nd floor (far right when entering the hotel). Man, it was noisy as hell. I never got proper sleep any of the nights. Other than that, I liked the hotel for: 1. Location: Within walking distance to Chinatown and Maxwell food center. There are several other... More

Hi lightonthestreet, Thank you for taking time to share this candid review. We appreciate honest feedback as they serve as opportunities for improvement. Located along Keong Saik Road, the streets can a little bustling at night, and we would be glad to offer and assist with a room change if we do have availabilities facing the back lane. Having said... More

I really liked the location of the hotel and the staff were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. While the room I stayed in was small, it was perfectly adequate and I had no problem with fitting both me and my suitcase in the room as some other reviews have suggested. My only real issue was the price - your money... More

Yes the rooms are extremely small but since I travel solo with only a back pack no problem for me. Everything worked well and service was good. Location is excellent and I slept comfortably. I had the top room with little patio but it was soooo hot and humid ( as always in Sg ) I never used it. Even... More

I absolutely loved this hotel and it's staff but the location was very noisy and the noise from the street often kept us both awake at night. extremely small rooms. I was alone with my suitcase and had difficulties to move in the room!!! bathroom is only a shower in the room and you can even brush your teeths without moving from your bed. Bed is extremely small. Prices are too high for this quality level. Only interest is to be in the heart of China town.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
