This hotel does exactly what it sets out to do, provide good no frills tourist level accommodation in a great location. The rooms are not large but there is enough space for two people, a bag rack and one bag under the window. The room we stayed in had recently been refurbished, new bathroom, flooring, very comfortable twin beds (pushed together for couples), high tech bedside light controls and also a hot water system for tea and coffee. The roof top pool is nice with great views but bring your own towel. Orchard road is right around the corner, a taxi rank across the road and one block to the metro. There is an outdoor mini food court (with umbrellas over the tables) across the road with chicken, duck, soup, drinks, western and seafood hawker stalls. If you want the fancy lobby and big rooms on Orchard Road go for it, but be prepared to pay more than double the price of this hotel.

We was told to check in at 3 pm on the date we have booked for our staycation.. Reached the hotel at 310 pm and was given keys to proceed to our rooms.

Feedback on Aircon
We Switch On the Aircon but after 30 mins, the rooms were still hot and the room was not cold. Called up the reception and was told to wait for the technician to come over, waited 30 mins no one came to knock at the door. Called again and the reception told me that she has requested the technician to check both the rooms that were released to us. I was shocked how come the reception told me this cos if i dont remember wrongly, i reported on the room that im in and not the other room that was issued to us as well. Waited again but till abt 5 plus no one came to check the aircon, so i went down personally to see the reception and ask whats the update on my reporting. Again i was told to wait so i went up to the room again and about 10 mins later, the door was knocked by someone. The technician came and checked the aircon. He then told me to wait for 10 to 20 mins for the aircon to be felt as he has done something. An hotel staff came to see me in front of my door and asked me how was it and i told him what was conveyed to us. He asked me "Are you okay to change room Ma'am"? I replied why not, we are willing to do so as long as the aircon of the rooms dont have any problem like this. We are brought to another level of the hotel and issued the keys for 2 new rooms. This time round the aircon was okay.

Bathroom
The bathroom was not to the same that was shown on the picture in Trip.Com. The pictures are misleading us. My kids were unhappy as the Bathtub cant be used as they have bought the Baby Bubbles Soap to be used in the Bathtub. Another issue that made them unhappy was the hair dryer, it was spoilt, can't be used at all. Mum was commenting how come there is no Water Hose attached to the toilet bowl as the sprinkle hose at the bathtub was so far.

We dont expect all these incident and the experiences that we have in the hotel will make our first staycation with family not to be a Fruitful and Memorable.

Hope other families will not experience the same experiences that we have face.

We arrived 8 am but could not check in directly. Fortunatelly the reception told us that our rooms would be avaible at 11 am so we could leave all our luggae in the lobby. We walked in the meantime to Orchard Road. Our rooms were clean and comfortable.
We booked rooms with breakfast. The reception did not tell us that the breakfast is in another hotel next to ours. This breakfast until 10 am was poor and very basic. After 9.30 they did not fill up food and drinks. 5 minutes before 10 am they started to put away food and drinks. 3 minutes for 10.am each day the lights were put out even there were more than 30 guest eating their breakfast. This was very terrible, because we travelled more than 50 countries all over the world in more than 100 hotel restaurants and never had this experience before.

Booked and paid a month ahead for a family trip, these happened:

1. Upon check-in, they insisted on charging SGD 60++/night for an extra bed for our 5 yr 8 mth old daughter by claiming that they have rules that 6 year olds and above must use extra beds, and insisted that our daughter was classified as "6 years old".

2. Fought off the extra bed ripoff, only to have our double-bed room taken away and given a twin-bed. Even though our reservation was for a double bed and all paid for a month ahead. Got to the room and sure enough the welcome message on the tv screen had someone else's name.

3. Was told breakfast for our 5 yr 8 mth old child was not complimentary, even though our room included breakfast for 2 adults.

4. Room was not cleaned at all throughout our 4 day 3 night stay. Front desk gave loads of excuses about alternarting days of housekeeping when we complained on the second day, yet room remained uncleaned for the following days. Spoke to duty manager on third night and was just given a lip service with nonchalant attitude.

In summary, this hotel has a niche in the form of their location in the vicinity of Orchard Road with cheap price and cheap service, which seems to be their modus operandi and ethos of doing business.

Nice and friendly staff, given a room with a massive window up on the 9th floor so had a good view Orchard Road. Room was clean and well kept and a good size for the price. One minor issue is the bath/shower is small and I think elderly people may find this difficult to get in and out of.

The only reason I have not given the hotel 5 stars is due to poor staff communication before my stay. I travelled into Singapore using a VTL flight which landed in the morning - using the VTL you must isolate for the first part of your stay so I had booked the hotel for the night before so I could immediately isolate on arrival. I had tried to contact the hotel beforehand (~1 month beforehand) to let them know I would be arriving in the morning and I had tried to explain that I had booked the room for the night before so I could go straight into the room for my isolation until I received my negative PCR result. They did not respond to my messages and in the end my partner had to call them and they said they had a made a note of my situation. However, when I landed in Singapore I found out they have cancelled my booking and charged my card. However, even though this was a little bit stressful it was all sorted out when I reached the hotel, they let me into the room and I paid the amount I was originally meant to pay.

We have booked a room with breakfast through Booking.com. The breakfast in this hotel was the worst experience I have ever had in hotel ever!! (I know this is a pandemic and the hotel kitchen is closed, but I have been in another hotel couple weeks ago and they were able to provide great breakfast regardless)

On the first morning we have received Chinese style breakfast - cold noodles with chicken wing. Talked to the receptionist and she changed our breakfast for western. Woke up to find dry toast bread with ham and cheese, fruit, soy drink and Spanish yogurt. The day after we received tuna croissant, some meat paste pastry and little raisin cake. Nothing was fresh at all.
Talked to the receptionist again if it’s possible to get a refund and cancel the breakfast which was declined because apparently we booked with Booking.com ? The receptionist than asked what we would like to have for breakfast. I have explained that all I want is fresh breakfast, fresh bread, maybe some ham and cheese, scrambled eggs, some juice, fresh croissants, butter, jam… just normal western breakfast. Since that day they gave us everyday the same cold scrambled eggs with piece of toast, piece of ham and toast style soft cheese, the same yogurt and 100ml canned juice that you can usually see in the airplane?

On arrival we have been given wrong room with double bed even though that we booked king size but the nice lady at reception gave us our room with no problem.

Overall its a nice clean hotel, but the breakfast are not worth it! Don’t waste your money and hotel management please don’t offer breakfast if you are not able to provide it.

Cons: Issues about Airconditioning

Arrived Hotel at 10:30pm
Room716 my kids woke up sweating around midnight A/C not working. Reported to Front desk. Was told maintenance duty is at 9am. They don’t seem to be concerned about guests suffering from the intense heat. Before leaving for sightseeing I specifically told the Front desk if they cannot fix the A/C they should prepare a room transfer for us.
Arrived hotel exhausted found out they failed to fix the problem, room was messy. No message or information. So I have to go down again.
I had to insist for them to change our rooms, turns out we are not the only ones with the same complaint. I met a couple booked 4 rooms on the 7th floor their AC also not working.
Staff attitude is also terrible, no apologies, no explanations, basically they don’t know about the complaints or pretend not to know. Poor customer service, manager not visible needs to be asked to assist. When she did helped out she also has an attitude. Did not even apologize for the time wasted fixing a problem that is a basic need of any traveller.

Our friends on the 4th floor lost a brand new Shoes, the housekeeping claims it was garbage. Shoes was still inside the box inside a shopping bag. Go figure

Arrived at the hotel at around 8in the evening, Check in was quite fast, however FO onduty was not quite of great assistance when we were asking help for room changes and arrangements with friends, but anyways it ended up as what we were requesting for. She just asked us to do agreements within the group. She was actually kinda approachable, but maybe they were just following company protocols.

They dont have bfast takeaway, but its ok since there are some convenient stores around where u can have a quick pick of snacks and instant foodies.

Room was really clean and has enough space with complete set of bath amenities. They also have this hot and cold water dispenser which is very useful. The sink water was all hot even if we turned it to cold temp., we just dont bother to seek for assistance coz its too late and we can use the shower alternatively. 😁

Overall it was a nice comfortable stay. Would recommend this to other SG travellers.

This was the bad experience we had last two days. limited facilities in the room , food was terrible some thing like dog meal.food they sent room and hang on door handle
We request vegetarian meal but breakfast came with egg
And we asked for breakfast little early about 7.00AM
as my wife was going to sit for an exam, but they refused. Through out the stay they not clear the garbage. Worst experience was we had in front desk in the check out. Although I’ve already payed for early checking and late check out, there was a lady who wants to charge again for extra time. we try to explain her but she never listen, so I had to pay again and then I show the e-mail the reservation send me, and then only she accept and refund. they never respect to customers. Couldn’t recommend for any reason.

We stayed in March for a 3 night stay before we flew off to Phuket in Thailand.
We need a hotel central to enable us to explore the city.
This hotel is perfect, close to the shopping centre and bus stop if you choose to use the tourist bus around the city.
Taxis run outside the hotel as well. Small rooms but for a city break they are ok.
We arrived in Singapore as the coronavirus was developing.
We found the hotel
Clean tidy and the breakfast although basic was enough for us.
The receptionist Jennifer was really friendly and actually worked each a day we were there and couldn’t have done enough for us, even though the hotel was so quiet the service provided was still been delivered.

Hi Toby, I think they do provide extra bed but best is to check with bookingcom or agodacom, they will be able to give a more accurate answer. I think I pay S$ 160-180 for the room, again you can easily check it in those websites. Have fun ! Harry
