Really well situated, close to Orchard Road and all of the shops. Big room that was always clean - breakfast was very good with lots of choice - probably the best buffet breakfast we have experienced. The in-house bakery was also amazing. 1 downside of note is that you have to book the in-house restaurants in advance - they have limited capacity and we weren’t aware of this before arrival but overall a really lovely experience.

We've had a fantastic 3-nights stay over the Christmas period. Would definitely come back & and recommend it to others. Here's our experience: As a young family of 3 with a two and a half years old toddler, we are always looking for comfort, children activities, convenient location & great food. Shangri-la ticked all the boxes & even exceeded our expectations. From the arrival until the check-out we've had the best time. The hotel was very busy due to the high season of Christmas but everything was always delivered smoothly by the staff. The check-in was done quite fast & our son received a lovely goodie bag. Huge attraction for the kids is the kids' club. It is one of the best we've ever seen anywhere in the world. From soft play area, to organised classes & activities, music studio. Super cool & our son had so much fun! Pool area was great too, lots of palm trees around, nice layout & the green area on the side with a walkway down is beautiful. Generally beautiful hotel grounds, well kept & lovely to enjoy. We've had some food & drinks by the pool and all was good. We've also tried the kids pool which is in a different area & it's really fantastic for kids of all ages. For breakfast we've opted for delicious pastry at the cafe in the lobby. Everything was so delicious! We love how there was a choir singing Christmas carols during on a few occasions. The lobby was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. It was a full on Christmas feel in Shangri-la which we've really enjoyed. Generally we've had some arranged bookings in the restaurants outside so we were always heading out for that, but we actually have regrets we didn't check out the restaurants in the hotel. So definitely we will do that next time. The location of the hotel is great too. We've walked to the Orchard Road for Christmas shopping every day of our stay, it was a pleasant 10-15 minutes walk. Our room was comfortable, also good size bathroom. We've also stayed at Ritz-Carlton Milenia during the same trip to experience the other part of the city (separate review) - great stay too but Shangri-la would be the place we would come back in the future for sure! …

Stayed at valley wing with a companion one month ago 2nd stay in shangri-la and so surprised at how much standards have dropped. Valley wing is the exclusive wing of Shangri-La, but staff are so poorly-trained, inattentive, discriminatory, and lacking in communication: 1. Dismissive staff, pushing blame to one another with regards to our concerns. 2. Staff neglected to serve me afternoon tea until after my companion came down. 3. Noisy lobby. Staff talking loudly to one another about checking for my name/room number 4. Was told no snacks at Valley Lounge, but started getting them after feedback that the Horizon Lounge had 24-h snacks 5. Dress-code not communicated to us clearly. 6. We gave up talking to the staff. Any issue, we went to tower wing reception. Hotel's response that they "value their guests, regardless of origin" but actions don't match the words. If what we had experienced isn't discrimination, what is it? Even if hotel "isn't going out of its way to make things miserable". The neglect and lack of attention to detail and inattentiveness is bad enough for a 5-star establishment. Room had multiple flies and toenail. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Not even to friends/colleagues with kids. As paying guests, we received horrific service that absolutely no one should have experienced as paying guests in a 5-star hotel. Disgraceful and shameful Go somewhere less pompous. Many excellent hotels in Singapore can provide better and more thoughtful, personalised service, and who will genuinely value your patronage .…

Smiling staff, always so helpful. My husbands birthday,which I wanted to make memorable was helped by a lovely lady in Guest Relations called Jasmine who sorted me out ! My slight criticisms are twofold 1. The fridge in the room is absolutely useless. I asked an engineer to come and he changed the fridge, however made no difference at all. It could be a health hazard as food items are not being kept at correct temperature. 2. The English Breakfast tea bags are tasteless and weak. Suggest a better brand. Lovely room and ambience of the hotel.

Nothing beats the location of this hotel! Right in the center of Orchard road with malls on both sides. There's a huge mall right beneath this same hotel. Breakfast was good with different selections. Room was a bit small but clean and had all the amenities.

The outstanding and extremely professional service, the environment and dining experiences especially in the Summit Room. The whole team wanted to help always. The Singapore Shangri-La is nice, but I expected it to be better. It’s located away from the tourist part of town and in what I suspect is a nicer area of Singapore. Part of the problem was the hotel was at capacity. Although booked thru the Amex Fine Hotels program, no room upgrade was provided. Room was spacious and the amenities were ample. Wanted to eat at the well-reviewed Chinese restaurant and the first available slot was for 8:30 pm (bad planning on my part). May be I am somewhat jaded as the next day I stayed at the Riverie in Saigon and for less money the experience was 10X better. Anyways, I would stay here again, but will certainly expect a little less and will make dinner reservations in advance.

A big thank you to front desk service staff Koo Lu Yee for making our staycation a very memorable and pleasant one.
