Just love the Heritage Room Huge and comfortable Particularly like the round cermaic dinning table So outstanding and very colonial However it is a very unique colony 3 storey building, a low rise building - can be easily distracted by noises after midnight. Behind the hotel is forested area. So cutting of grass in early morning - 4.30am can be a little frustrating but only minimal noise as I am a light sleeper! Breakfast was good although its not a halal certified one as they do serve bacon. Nevertheless I did enjoyed the porridage, toast bread and waffles 😋 Easy access to halal food at the closes shopping mall - Far East Plaza. Will recommend to friends and relatives if they need to relax and rejunvenate in this hotel. A big thank up for friendly staff - Shanice (reception) & June (chambermaid) for their kind superb services 👍…
This pretty heritage hotel has a chill, laid back vibe and exploring its grounds and the hotel's maze of rooms was quite interesting. But the draw of the hotel is its relaxing vibe - even if it is smack in the centre of prime Orchard Road. Were upgraded to a modern deluxe room and that was definitely a huge plus. But i must complement the staff and impeccable service - they went above and beyond to smile, greet and take note of each and every guest - which i felt this itself is worthy of its 5star rating. One cannot assume that all 5 star hotels have such service but Goodwood Park Hotel's was quite unparalleled - the staff appeared sincere to know their guests or help them in whatever ways they could - like redirecting me when i was 'lost' during one of my hotel explorations. I must thank a Mr Fahid ( tihink) from concierge. He so kindly brought us on a buggy tour of the hotel compounds when he saw us sitting at the lobby area, and told us about the heritage sites around the hotel which was most informative. So thank you, it was memorable and we really enjoyed our stay!…
Fascinating old building with beautifully preserved details, which is a rarity in Singapore. The rooms are nicely sized and very clean. The staff make the place - staff at any hotel in Singapore are going to be efficient and friendly, but I really found the Goodwood staff to be unusually thoughtful and considerate, and very proud of the history of the place. Frankly, the upkeep isn't perfect - the decor is a little dated. But I honestly thought that added to the vintage charm. Great location ten minute walk from ION and Orchard Road. Someday it will be bought up by a chain, renovated beyond recognition, and the price will triple. Stay here soon.
Loved that hotel is historic and has wonderful public spaces. Two pools that are very nice and nice gym. But be aware that the AC system is quite loud (I couldn't sleep with it on although I am a light sleeper). Only instant coffee in the rooms. Breakfast buffet was not very interesting or high quality and was almost the same every day. And I asked for a quiet room but they gave me one with nearby construction so I'd hear jackhammering off/on, sometimes past 5PM. That said, a good value and perhaps worthwhile if you get a good room .
Overall its a good stay, got a free upgrade to room with direct access to the pool. But it's disappointing that being a 5 star hotel, there is no bathtub and front desk during check in seems tired and lethargic and does not seems to be welcoming guest. Other staff is way more welcoming and had to compliment 1 of the staff working in the kitchen as we kinda lost our way to another pool and saw the staff and he is very kind to lead us all the way to another pool and making sure we are all good before he goes to where he needed to go.
