Nice room, small but comfortable and really clean. There were no windows but for a day or two it's ok. The hotel hall and the common areas are really nice and beautiful decorated. There was a little bit of noise at night from other rooms, it was not really well sound isolated. But for the price it's worth

The location is definitely a right in the heart of Chinatown and just less than 5 minutes walking distance to Chinatown MRT. The lobby has a interesting layout, reddish and very oriental decorations. Only problem is the room is too small, hardly can walk thru after placing the luggage on the floor. There is no place for the luggage and...

We had a great few days in Singapore and were lucky to have chosen the Santa Grand Hotel Lai Chun Yuen. It is PERFECTLY situated in Chinatown right amongst all the action. There are foodstalls, markets and temples all around the hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated, historically interesting, very clean and perfectly functional. It is a great place to...

When we walked in the hotel, we felt that the hotel lobby was too dark, probably the lighting was not sufficient. Our room was too small. Overall the hotel is good and very handy for everything, a lot of restaurants and close to public transports.

Great location in Chinatown. The building is converted from an old Chinese opera house, so very interesting. I had a very small (7 sq m) single bed room, without window. I was clean, though, and had free wifi in the room, plus a nice, compact bathroom. No breakfast included and few places in Chinatown open early for an early departure....

Santa Grand is sitting right at China Town giving easy access to food as hawkers and the Street Food Market is just right beside you. It's walking distance to Raffles Place. Easy access to the train station(Purple and Blue Line) thus easy to take train from and to the airport. Location wise, Santa Grand is good. However the room isn't...

The hotel is located in Chinatown, what it's perfect for almost anyone willing to know the city. The employees were very friendly and always willing to help. Hotel is located in Chinatown and close to MRT station but room is quiet small. Because it is next to the main road, when cars passed by, it is quite noisy. If you need to freeze your Coke, sorry......you have to buy it in 711 cause there is no fridge inside your room.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
