The Robertson House by The Crest Collection sits in a coveted location, lauded by guests for its proximity to attractions and scenic river views. While the hotel's atmosphere and cleanliness receive consistent praise, with a nod to its tasteful decor and well-maintained premises, opinions on service and value diverge.
Some visitors commend the friendly staff, but others experience slow service, and many feel the hotel's pricing doesn't match the provided amenities. The satisfactory pool, gym, and club lounge are highlights, although room size and soundproofing sometimes fall short of expectations.

Very good 4 day stay at The Roberton House. The room was over looking the pool, it was smaller than expected but was tastefully decorated and had comfortable beds (twin room). The room was cleaned daily as was the towels. There was complimentary soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, comb, cotton buds, shaver, shower cap and slippers. An iron and ironing board were provided and also weighting scales which was the first time I'd experience this. We did not have breakfast as I personally thought it was expensive at $29 per person so choose to eat out. Location was great, 5 mins walk to Clark quay and bus stop. Staff were friendly and helpful, proving milk for tea and cutlery for us. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

This place is a Gem- First off all at my arriving the concierge Rafie Hamza was ready to welcome me and during my stay he was so helpful with directions and tips about the city. Then at the lobby Penty Nan. one of the hostess, she treat me so well and I was so lucky that I got upgrade to the executive room on the 10th floor. The room was so perfect, good size and all renovated. The free tea, water, the espresso machine and the sodas are a plus on the daily basis in the room.
The gym was great and very new machines The pool is beyond great so big and the water is so perfect. My room was daily made by Madinah Ismail, and honestly is the best housekeeper in singapore so far, she always is smiling and so perfectionist with her work. The breakfast buffet is over good, even that I am vegetarian, I find many fresh dishes and fresh fruit. The whole restaurant team is so kind and make you feel so comfortable high recommendation for ‘Han’ she treat me so well. In other words this place is perfect, location, room, food, crew, pool and the most important thing for me, is quite and calm. I cant wait to go back and discover more great thing in Singapore and enjoy again this Hotel.

Shae and Darren were fantastic and very accommodating. They went out of there way to help us and assist with our dietary requirements in the club room. True gentlemen with great knowledge of the local area. The Asian cleaning lady was very good at her job, very happy young lady, works very hard and was very prompt with her daily clean of our room, always replenishing our bedding and amenities.
Beds were comfortable, air conditioning was effective.
Grocer across the road in the mall was great to have so close by.
Only concerns with main restaurant for buffet breakfast and dinner is limited dietary options. No milk alternatives to dairy. 5 star hotel should have coconut or Almond milk.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and never felt unwelcome.

Stayed for a few days to explore Singapore and the hotel was fine but definitely not exceptional.
We mostly chose the hotel because of its location - we wanted to be near the river with easy access to Clark quay and Robertson quay and it suited us well. My daughter is coeliac and lots of places nearby catered to her requirements so it worked fine.
The Rooms are small but well equipped - nowhere to store bags or many clothes but coffee machine and water filtration machine. We had an interconnecting room and the sound proofing between the two was poor.
Only ate here once - breakfast on our last morning - frankly it was dire 35 Singapore dollars and everything was very meh.
Pool area had the potential to be lovely but it wasn’t - an area was sectioned off for ‘-maintenance’ but it didn’t look like anyone was working on it. All a bit shabby although the pool was clean and towels were freely available.
Very passive aggressive signs around the pool advising no own drinks and food to be consumed - fairly standard but we noticed no one was buying drinks from the bar - one group had brought cans (presumably from the 7-11 around the corner) and some ladies ordered a couple of mixers and topped up with the gin in their bag! . When one afternoon we were by the pool for a few hours I saw why. Bar was infrequently attended by staff and when eventually someone was spotted there and we went to order it was like visiting Russia in the early 90’s - a long menu but nothing was available. I asked for an Aperol spritz as I could see the bottle on the bar but was told no that couldn’t be done - eventually having ordered a couple of beers off the list that they didn’t have those either I asked what they did have - 1 variety of bottled beer and wine. I ordered two white wines and a bottle of beer and it cost me almost £40 sterling. We are used to London prices but I thought this was very expensive- it wasn’t as though the service was great - I ordered them and collected them at the bar and carried them to the sunbeds and the white wine was warm so had to go back and get ice !
Check in was ok - not speedy but not particularly slow but checkout on our final morning took a while as there was quite the queue and only a couple of members of staff.
I feel if the hotel is to survive and dream of calling itself a 5 star hotel lots of small things need to be improved.

While this hotel excels in location and provides decent rooms, the complete lack of responsiveness to phone calls is an absolute deal-breaker. Over the course of nine hours, from 12 noon to 9 PM, not a single call was answered—whether made from the room phone or a personal mobile. This wasn’t a one-off occurrence but a repeated failure, with at least eight attempts met with silence.
This raises serious concerns about guest safety and service standards. What happens during an emergency? If a companion is sick, or a safety incident arises, who do we turn to when no one answers? For a 4-star hotel, this basic service failure is utterly unacceptable. It’s not just about inconvenience; it’s about guest welfare.
If this property is part of the Ascott chain, it’s deeply disappointing. The Ascott brand is known for upholding high standards, yet this hotel tarnishes that reputation. It’s baffling that with today’s advanced technology, the hotel cannot route calls to a duty manager, an answering machine, or even an automated system to record room numbers and call back. These are fundamental protocols in modern hospitality.
Failing to address something as basic as phone responsiveness reflects a lack of foresight and responsibility. A hotel that disregards such an essential service leaves guests feeling unsafe and unsupported.
This experience has been a stark reminder that basic hotel service 101—answering the phone—cannot be ignored. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone seeking reliable service and safety.

We chose the hotel for the price and its relatively close location to many points of interest. We were also attracted by the short distance to the subway, which ultimately became the transportation option we used the most. The worst thing about the hotel is the size of the rooms, a little small when you have luggage for several days. But it's normal in Singapore. But it had many good things. The breakfast buffet is quite good, the sleep quality is excellent (although it is necessary to have the air conditioning on continuously) and the service is also very good. We quite liked the pool, since at the time we went there were not many people and we could easily find a place on the sun loungers. So, in short, a highly recommended option.

Three of us (parents + adult son) stayed for six nights in late December 2024. We loved every minute. Checking in & out was a breeze and the service was attentive. Our 10th floor suite slept three people (I say yes to two bathrooms) and was less expensive than reserving two separate rooms. The suite was lovely. We appreciated the floor-length windows overlooking the river & pool, as well as having 24-hr access to the library & lounge. The mini-fridge got a lot of use but the cooker didn't--too many good restaurants in Singapore for that. The pool was excellent (try their version of a mai-tai at the pool-side bar -- refreshing!). Great location between Fort Canning Park and the river, with easy access to the MRT and buses. Walks up to Orchard Rd, to Chinatown, to the National Museum, and down to Marina Bay were also very fun -- but avoid the middle of the day because it get HOT. All in all, this hotel was a winner!

The service provided by Penty Zaw at check in was superb. Very smooth and very helpful, which was a real relief after a long flight. The room was cosy and comfortable, and the hotel was easily accessible from the airport, less than 30 minutes away.

5 stars only for the cleanliness and location of the hotel a few steps from the metro and restaurants, otherwise 2 stars! Reception almost non-existent, very small room, the bathroom door was broken did not close well, the hot water in the shower came suddenly boiling, in the bathroom there were no electrical outlets, so my husband could not even shave since he only uses the electric shaver! Breakfast poor and inconveniently located. We did not complain because we stayed very little time luckily!

Booked the club room to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Prior to the stay, I made some special request with Selina and.. Oh boy, little did we know, we were in for a special treat.
Upon check-in, we were assigned a corner panoramic view room. The view was excellent! Amenities in the room added a special touch to it and we truly appreciate every single detail of it.
As the room comes with club lounge access, we dropped by during the evening cocktail. Darren was on duty that day and he's such a gem. He was very attentive, friendly and ensured that we were given the warm hospitality that every guests deserves. We were also given an anniversary dessert as a surprise!
Overall, we truly appreciate the warm hospitality given by the crew and will definitely return again. Special shoutout to Selina and Darren for making our stay extra special, lovely and wonderful.
