100% was put off by recent bad reviews. Cancelled my booking to book at Village Hotel but then cancelled that because I read that the rooms were tiny. I went back to booking Shangri La because of the kids facilities. Also, I read that on the second stay at a ShangriLa, as a Circle member, you get a free upgrade. So we got moved from a hillview room to a Seaview with a balcony. This was fantastic news for me, as the room is a great size, has a view (of ships though) and doesn’t feel as claustrophobic as some of the other hotels I’ve stayed at. I get that this hotel may not be for everyone. It is loud and full of kids but for my child, who is an only child at 6 years old, he loved it. He loved the kids club and fun team, making him not as lonely as he would have been if we’d been at a quiet hotel with a small pool. The food and drinks are expensive but sadly unavoidable. I found the service satisfactory and check in was smooth. Again, it’s not for everyone but for this single mum and child, it was perfect.

It’s hard to believe that guests actually rate this hotel with anything higher than one star. It’s totally run down. The staff is apologetic about the disrepair stating it was due for a remodel before COVID and now wants desperately for it to be done. We got a third party “deal” which was no deal at all. At $400 US per night it was astronomically overpriced. We booked for 3 nights but after one night I moved us to the Ritz Carlton which was fabulous and not much more expensive. The hotel is crawling with kids and I feel sorry for families that don’t know any better and are paying through the nose to stay there. It’s no paradise despite what the hotel says it is. The food, while plentiful, is low quality and expensive. And there’s nowhere else to have a meal. If you have kids you’d probably like being near all the expensive tourist traps, but if you’re a discerning adult you would avoid this place like the plague. There’s a man made beach that no one users because it’s disgusting. There are a huge number of freight ships lurking right off the beach which are an incredible eyesore. This was my first experience with shangra-La and definitely my last.

Hotel itself was beautiful, yes a little run down but still very well kept for an old hotel. Staff was the main reason for the fantastic stay, they were all so friendly and reciprocal. Super helpful. Cannot wait to be back

This place is neither relaxing or 5 star. It seems to get excellent reviews but I would never go back. The behaviour of other guests often made this place unbearable; loud, disrespectful and rude. They push in front other guests for the shuttle, they will eat and drink in the pool, leave their sick kids coughing at kids club, and they will repeatedly go into the adults section of the pool when told not to. They will pretend not to understand. The staff there are apprehensive about doing anything about this. And don’t bother if you would like to use the washing machine - you’ll never get a chance. Common sense would be to provide a clothes horse as all you could see was furniture being used to hang people’s clothes and wet swimmers. The line in the bathroom sees no sunshine. The F and B staff are disinterested. I would be too if I had to deal with some of the guests. But when you get an order wrong, please acknowledge this, and don’t try and get another staff member to serve the same dish to us. The hallways are worn and yes lots of eaten room service left overnight outside hallways. In the tropics you can imagine. This place really became a one star stay and I would not recommend anyone to come here. Thank you for your note general manager, but I would ask you to spend a day here in January and truly be honest about your experience. The are some pros - the beds were very comfortable and kids club staff lovely. The quality of the breakfast and general food was commendable. Lovely Indian cooking, and head chef who actually made an effort.

My experience at Sentosa Shangri-La was a nightmare. 1. After arriving at 3, I found that none of my room type are prepared even though I left a note at the time of booking, saying that I would arrive at 2. Many people must be in a similar situation, waiting in the lobby. Then I queued up again to check in. And had no rest until 4 o'clock. A light "sorry" wa all the concierge did to relif your guest at first. 2. Literally all the staff seemed enthusiastic but were actually cold and impatient. They did not introduce the hotel facilities and breakfast and explained little after I asked. 3. The hotel facilities are old and smelly, room so small. And as soon as I enter the cramped corridor on the 11th floor, there are food residues left outside of most rooms, and smelled like gutter. slum. 4. The equipment is incomplete. There were no conversion plugs near bed, and i asked 3 different staff, none of them brought us the plug we need. 5.noise till midnight. Could hear music of the club at 12.

Simply put, this is an amazing resort suited for families. You'll wake up each day in a comfortable room with great beds, icy air conditioning, well appointed bathrooms and plenty of complimentary boxed water (to keep you hydrated in the Singaporean weather). You can then head down to the most amazing breakfast buffet you could ask for, drop your kids off at the kid's club and then go have a swim in the pool. Just great.

Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa is the perfect place for families - A very-kid friendly hotel with lots of activities and attractions. The beach is ok but the play area, waterpark and pool activities are fun and engaging for kids. The hotel is very pretty with its lush gardens, fish pond and lots of birds. They manage to keep things interesting with little activities like free balloons at breakfast for kids, free ice cream at the lobby, mascots etc. Other than the long wait to check in and long queues at breakfast we had a pretty good time during our stay there. We booked their Superior Hill View Room which had just enough space for the 3 of us. Also for us, 3 nights was not enough, so if you are going on a family vacay, it would be a good idea to book a longer stay. Very friendly and helpful staff who are extra attentive to kids. Would def recommend for family vacay!

To me, this trip was designed as a getaway from my busy lifestyle, and that's exactly what this hotel gave me. The location is fantastic, considering that it's situated right BY a beach In fact, the highlight of this hotel for me was the beach. The hotel provided guests with kayaks and stand-up paddle boards which you can use for free, and my family greatly enjoyed this, since it gives you something to do other than swimming in the ocean or lounging by the pool. Right by the beach, there are also many lounge chairs, where if you order food through the QR code, staff will bring it directly to you, and you can enjoy food with a stunning view of the beach. But, if you're not feeling the beach for some days during your trip, the swimming pool is also a good place to spend the day. One feature that I absolutely loved was the adult zone, where no kids were splashing around; the jacuzzi was also an excellent addition that made me enjoy the pool all the more. There are also many kids zones within the swimming pool area, with water slides and smaller playing areas. What I loved most about my experience at this hotel, however, was the recreation team, or the 'FUN team', and the activities they organized for the guests. There is a schedule placed on a bulletin board next to the lift area for going up to the rooms. The activities are typically held in the pool and last throughout the day. The one I enjoyed best was underwater boxing, where the staff brought punching bags down to the water. This, as I saw, must have taken quite some effort since they removed the punching bag from the actual pole and moved it down to the water separately. The coach who taught the party of 6-9 people was also very professional, and I had so much fun with this activity, so a special shoutout to the FUN team at this hotel for making my experience so enjoyable. There are also many activities that parents and kids alike can enjoy throughout the day at the pool. One of the most exciting for me was the floating slip-and-slide that spanned across the pool that people tried to cross. Both adults and kids could try this, but it was infinitely more funny watching adults run across but fall in the water. The breakfast is quite typical, and there is everything you would expect to find at a hotel, even though it's not my first time coming here, I'm still surprised at the vast array of food they have in the breakfast buffet. Because there is an outdoor and indoor sitting area, if you have a preference, you may want to arrive early so you don't have to line up, though the outdoor area is more popular. Be aware, however, if you are sitting in the outdoor area, that there are no rafters directly above your head since the resort is home to many birds that like to perch on the rafters and eye for the guests' food when they leave the table. I was unfortunately a victim of their droppings attack. While the love I have for this resort is truly something, there is something that disappointed me greatly from this trip. Because there is a large shopping mall right outside Sentosa (Vivo City), many guests choose to shop and dine there then take the shuttle bus provided by the hotel that brings you back directly to the hotel. When I visited the resort previously (just earlier in 2023), the shuttle bus was a tour bus, with 60+ seats, though this time I visited, it has switched into a van, with less than 20 seats. Because the mall is a popular site for guests, it would be normal for there to be many guests going to and from the hotel and the mall, though the hotel clearly did not account for this as there were not enough seats for both times I took the shuttle bus. The second time I took the bus, there were actually not enough seats for everyone in my family of three to board, though two kind families had their child sit with them (three people sharing two seats) so we could fit on. This is not only unsafe for those sharing their seats, but also unfair to those who have lined up for the bus but were not able to board, since the alternative way back to the hotel is either by taxi or the monorail, though this does not take you directly back to the hotel. If the hotel were to keep the small van, there should be more shifts throughout the day, instead of the once-an-hour shift the shuttle bus operated on when I was there.
