My girlfriend and I booked ahead for our trip to El Nido. When we arrived at about 5:30pm, after a long day of travel, hot, tired and dusty from the road, we had to walk, walk, walk to finally find the hostel - only to discover they had given our room to a "walk-in" guest. The person I talked to...

The locals and staff were very friendly but the room, beds, and sheets were dirty. Yes there are bed bugs and there is a good chance they will latch onto your luggage and follow you everywhere so do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

The people were kind, warm and always smiling. They helped me out with some troubles I had on my travel. The room was nice, on top of the bar, an average room with all I needed as a backpacker. I hope to come back and stay there again, it was a great experience

Unfortunatelly I had no other choice but staying here (other places were fully booked or above my budget). I would never ever return to this place and I wouldnt recommend it to anybody. I had a double room at the opposite of the banana hostel. After you walked the stairs you already saw the cockroaches. The room had no proper...

I stayed at La Banane with a friend while we were backpacking the Philippines in 2013. I loved the location of this hostel and we were lucky enough to get the room on top of the bar, across the street. We had a big balcony, the room was a nice size for Philippines hostel standards. Though the lack of proper...

No wonder this hostel is so cheap, it literally bites! There's 9 beds in a 10m sq room, it was smelly and the sheets and pillow looked like they haven't been changed for awhile. I asked the owner for a new sheet but that didnt' help. Little bugs or cockroaches are constantly crawling on the bed. The other guy who...

We planned to stay here for a week... but found another place after only one night. The girl's dorm is dirty, smelly and mattresses are full of little red bugs. The bathroom is disgusting and the staff act as if they don't know anything. The girl's dorm is situated just next to the beach and the bar, so we couldn't...

Lack of atmosphere, smelly and hot. Bathrooms are reasonable, you have personal lockers, you can meet a few travellers and the bar across the street is nice. 300ps a dorm is definitly to much though. Not sure if there is nicer backpackers to stay in town.

Stayed here for one night. Has a very strong smell in the mixed dorm ( girls) dorm. As if it has been fumigated. Shared the girls dorm with a guy. Choose the middle bed next to the window. Make sure you ask for a locker key as there is no dorm room key and she opens the window to the...

The hostel receptionist was already sleeping when we arrived at the hostel at around 3 AM. Nevertheless, there was someone (from the hostel) who accompanied us to our room. We got the "Orange Room" located across the street. There was a man using the shower when we entered the room! He was a hostel staff, I guess. It was very...
