Detailed Reviews
This hotel was everything i'd hoped it would be and so much more.
Being collected from the pier by speedboat for a short 30 min journey to this deserted island was the perfect start. Arriving to the island was jaw dropping! The setting is absolute perfection, and the views afforded by the hotel are 10/10. Perfect blue seas, stunning landscapes, an incredible house reef, beautiful rainforest backdrop, lots of nature and golden sands.
The rooms match the location. They are huge, luxurious and cater for every need. We even had a visit from a monkey one afternoon!
The food was wonderful. We were there during peak season and had paid the additional fee to get breakfast, lunch and dinner included. It was all delicious, and i think i put on about a stone in weight.
The trips offered by the hotel (part of our additional fee we paid for peak season) were wonderful! Max of 12 people per trip and with about 5-6 options per day, it meant there was plenty to do. We did the house reef morning snorkel with black tip reef sharks twice. It was incredible! We also did the sunset trek to the viewpoint and the trip to Big Lagoon with kayaks (a little too busy for my liking, but that had nothing to do with the hotel).
The hotel also offers a number of non-motorised activities, which we took advantage of, with a kayak and paddle board being delivered to our beachfront room so we could use them at any time. We didn't get around to learning to windsurf, but had we stayed longer we definitely would have done.
The spa was also fantastic. I had two massages druing our 4 night stay, and both were excellent leaving me refreshed and relaxed.
The best thing about this hotel? The staff. They are wonderful. Every single one of them. You arrive on to the island with a song and leave with a song. They care about every person who stays at this hotel, and pay attention to the smallest things. I would like to specifically highlight Ton, who was beyond wonderful to us.
This hotel is a dream. It’s perfect in every way, and I wish we had booked our entire honeymoon trip at this hotel! I’d return in a heartbeat.

We stayed in this Island Resort for 3 days. I love every experience we had in here especially the service. You would expect for the food to be a bit pricey but for me it’s a given since you are in an island and so many logistics involved to make everything available at a good quality.
They offer free activities like the island where they took us to the snake island and other one with a cave. You have to coordinate with the activity officer if you want to maximize the free activities they have in the resort.
Since there are only 45 villas, you get that feeling of exclusivity and in most times you will feel like you own the beach because there’s not much people on sight.
There are monitor lizards just roaming around the property and the sights of birds and if you’re lucky like me, you might be able to see a palawan hornbill.
The service was superb. We arrived early around 9am and we were welcomed by the staff and manager and were given a wash room which is another villa where we can stay, rest and take a shower while waiting for our assigned room at 2pm. The night before our check out day, they informed us that our check out time is 2pm since our flight is 5 in the afternoon.

We stayed for 5 nights on Pangulasian island and enjoyed every second. From the moment we were met at the airport by Godfrey until the time we left we were treated like royalty! The island is paradise with secluded beach and forest villas both as magical as one another. They are spacious and well appointed with fabulous bathrooms and plenty of storage. They were serviced daily with great attention to detail by the housekeeping teams.
The resort offers activities which include things such as snorkeling, trailing, kayaking all of which are a great way to meet people although the island is very private and often the beautiful pool was quite quiet.
The staff are amazing. Jen the manager was there to meet us when we arrived along with music and a welcome song. She makes sure you are being looked after all the time. She sent us over to Miniloc to feed and snorkel amongst the jack fish- what an incredible experience! It was the highlight of our holiday. A massive thank you to Raffy who guided us along the coral seeing some stunning fish in enormous shoals. Thank you also to Jing the assistant manager who escorted us.
Monkeys and huge lizards live side by side with the islanders which is fascinating- don’t leave your doors open! What a natural environment to spend such special time in- it will be a holiday we will never forget. A truly stunning paradise with such beautiful genuine people. Thank you everybody.

Stayed 9 nights in this location. Stayed in a beachfront room which had a beautiful view across the beach and sea to a neighbouring island. The journey to the island was stress free, met at the airport and taken to a speed boat for a 20-30 mins ride across to the island. This ride was wonderful on our trip across but bone jarring on our return trip and it was windy and the sea was choppy.
The room was second to none - spacious, a fabulous bathroom and kept spotlessly clean. The bed was so comfortable and the temperature in the room was maintained by air con units and fans.
Our only disappointment, staying 9 nights was the amount of unavailable products on the menus at the 2 restaurants. Over half the products on the main course list at the main restaurant were unavailable and at least 2 or 3 on the pool bar restaurant. They did not substitute the unavailable products with anything else and there was very little/no fresh fish available which e were looking forward to.
Restaurants and food aside, this was a perfect location to stay, relax, make the most of the day trips and boat rides ad generally chill out. Would still recommend if you are staying for a shorter period as you wouldn’t be so affected by the food offer.

If I hadn't visited the sister Island Resorts Miniloc and Matinloc, my view of the food might not be as bad as those resorts far outshine the variety and quality of the food here at Panalusian.
All things being equal the food is the problem here at Pangulasian. The service and the accommodations are fantastic. The staff are friendly and very accommodating to your needs. No complaints at all. Everyone will greet you with smiles and tend to your wishes.
For me when I visit a resort I like to eat good food and have variety and Pangalusian short quite a bit compared to Miniloc and Matinloc Island. Pangalusian has a breakfast buffet which is "okay" when compared to the other two but then they make you pay for lunch and dinner which the other two do are included. I would rate all the food they serve here as "okay".. probably 6 out of 10. They have an "upscale" restaurant for those of you that want "fine dining" but you'll pay 30 to 40 USD a plate for that. Are you willing to pay $30 USD per person for lunch AND dinner on top of the mega $$$$ you've spent for your room? My wife and I went to the upscale restaurant one time for lunch and the place was empty. One look at the menu and I said "I think this is too pricey for a casual lunch". I asked myself "If their other restaurant serves food that is "so so" how do I know that the food at the upscale restaurant is any better and I'm paying top dollar? "
Pangalusian Island is considered the king of the Island Resorts here at El Nido and I expected the best food on top of the best views, accommodations, and service. It fell short.
I won't return unless things change in the food department. Otherwise I had a fantastic time , relaxed and enjoyed the amazing views and great service.

Our first travel with the family after unending community quarantine through the resort’s Travel Bubble program. We chose Pangulasian Island over the other island because of its exclusively & being the most expensive, we have high expectations.
The food selection during breakfast was limited than the normal ones during pre-pandemic times but nonetheless still good.
Dinner were a big hit in terms of Menu & the staff did awesome in trying to rotate the location nightly; poolside, beachfront, resto, etc.
We got Kalaw Villas (Exclusive Pool) and Beach Villas for quick access to the beach. Some of our villas need some thorough cleaning & waiting for golf cart service going to the main resto / reception took time.
Overall, our concerns were addressed by the Resort Manager and she tried her best to make our stay memorable. We cant wait to try El Nido Apulit next time.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Lagen Island Resort for 3 days and 2 nights. We booked water cottage and decided to purchase the full package supplement, which is worth it as lunch, dinner and island hopping activities are included. Our stay in El Nido became more memorable, not just because of the view, but because of the people who welcomed and assisted us during our stay. My boyfriend got sick during our stay, and Lagen Resort staff took care of him. The waiters at the restaurant kept on checking on him and offering food off the menu to make sure that he will eat and get better. I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. Thank you, Khen, Kuya Benjie, Kuya Rex and Pao (actually everyone in the resort) for accommodating us and making our stay truly memorable.

We had the good fortune to stay in the bungalow with the best view and private pool. It is the ultimate getaway to just enjoy nature, relax, sunbathe and read a good book. The big decision of the day is what to eat. I have never been a buffet person but we would have it for breakfast and dinner with many choices from fresh fruits, salads and multiple proteins. Plenty of variety to satisfy any craving. At lunch time we would eat at the pool restaurant. The resort is great for someone who needs some down time. There is a 30 minute hike you can do and see around the island at the top. I did not do it but heard it is beautiful. What we did do and I highly recommend is a private boat tour!! We did it 2 days in a row! They have some options I believe for free in a group? But private is the way to go!! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable with history and he had impeccable timing of getting us to the secret lagoons and caves with no other tourists around!!! Our pictures look like we were the only ones to ever experience the spectacular sites!! He went above and beyond climbing rocks to get the perfect photo. He also knew all of the iPhone settings more than I do and obviously he takes pictures all day long but he truly has talent! The bungalow aesthetic is is lovely . HUGE stunning bathroom, High ceilings, extremely comfortable bed and they even to a turn down service. We would go to dinner and the bed would be made AGAIN! Everyone takes a nap on vacation haha. Lastly the customer service. Everyone is so kind. The manager personally chats with you whenever you see him making sure your stay is flawless. The chef comes out and talks to you and was so kind that when he found out we had one night left he asked if we had any requests. We declined not wanting to be high maintenance . He said he would prepare whatever the fresh catch of the day was. And sure enough we didn't see him that night but he sent out the fresh catch of the day grilled in banana leaves. Truly Great service and a trip of a lifetime!

First and foremost, the location; spectacular. Amongst the different resorts that El Nido has to offer this is by far the best one (and we toured the other three out of sheer curiosity). Great beach, no matter what time of the day the sun will always shine on you as there is no high peaked rock to block it after 3PM as it happens in other places because of the peculiar configuration of these pinnacles.
Rooms are gorgeous, nicely furbished all with a wonderful view. Needless to say, there is not a speck of dust on the floor, the bathroom is immense and the terrace outside is such a plus!
Service is very attentive and the manager (Jen) always keeps an eye on everything that happens making sure that the staff performs and meets your every need.
Dinner was nice, both at the pool and at the restaurant. Breakfast offers the right array of choices and will not disappoint you.
You can also enjoy a well equipped fitness room, a SPA for a nice massage or refer to the activity desk to plan your excursions during the day; they will take care of everything and you can tell that it is a very well oiled mechanism as everything runs pretty much very smooth and it mustn’t be easy when you are on an island, miles away from the nearest place where everything comes from, from food to drinks to speedboats and everything you can possibly think you need.
The pool is just awesome and hadn’t it been for the wonderful beach I would have probably spent more time lingering in the soft sofas under the shade.
The resort provides for your transportation from and to El Nido Airport and to make a very long story short, from the moment you land in El Nido until you depart there is really nothing you have to worry about as they take care of everything, will pamper you and will make sure that you are very well taken care of.
If I can give you my personal suggestion, I would definitely go for a Beach Villa between numbers 7 and 12; they are equally distant from the pool and the lobby / restaurant and yet secluded enough to give you all the privacy you might want. If you end up a little further up, do no worry; a cart will come and pick you up every single time you do not feel like walking.
Pool Villas are a little further down the road and have no direct access to the beach. They are very “private” but when you have such a beautiful ocean and wonderful beach, why settle for a small pool next to your room?
The canopy villas are a little higher, making it a little more uncomfortable to go up and down the stairs each time and mostly, the spectacular view they should be enjoying is somewhat blocked by the palm trees. Beach villas are, in my opinion, the best option.

We had the perfect beach bungalow with an unobstructed view of beach and sea. Roomy and light. We loved it and spent lots of time there. It was safer because there were fewer sand flies there than on the beach. The food in the 2 restaurants was good, but service in the main restaurant could have been better. Breakfast was monotonous. Dinner was a la carte and always the same selection. The steaks were great.
Our villa had everything we needed: a huge shower, separate WC, makeup area, lots of space for luggage. The bed was huge and comfortable and we could see the sea from it.
The resort offered lots of free excursions all of which we participated in. They were great. We also rented a private outrigger for a day. Great and worth the money.

I have booked directly with the resort. My confirmation contained very detailed information. I did have a couple of questions and they were answered thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Our time at Pangalusian was exemplary. Five nights and four days was not enough but during this time, we were provided stellar service, great accommodation, the best facilities, and sumptuous food at a tranquil island. Nothing was too much - every whim was catered for whole heartedly from the managers to the cleaners. The politeness was genuine and they made us feel welcome and that they were happy to have us there. And if this wasn’t enough, we learned that everyone - from the owners to the staff members had run the resort together with their ethos of preserving and caring for the surrounding environment.
No amount of money can buy this experience. As per my review, I will come back to this paradise in a heartbeat!
My husband and I travel overseas (from Australia) every second month due to our business. I always try to incorporate a holiday every now and then, so needless to say, we live in hotels, dine at restaurants more than we do at home. We have experience service from several cultures in different countries - but until now, I am proud to call on two of my top hotels: 1) Shangri-la Mactan Cebu 2) El Nido Pangalusian Resort.
Hi! I communicated with them via email and viber messaging app.
Upon arrival to airport, the driver will be waiting for you (sign with your name). The drive from the airport to the dock is maybe 5 minutes… Boat ride to island is maybe 30 minutes… I don’t remember exactly, but it is a very picturesque and surreal ride. The time on boat was not a big deal…
Yes. Perfectly safe for brushing your teeth. In addition, the resort provides with abundant drinking water.
I am not aware of a room that can occupy a family of 7 adults. Probably, you can make arrangement if the other members are small children.
I think reservations for May 2023 can already be done this early since this place is heavily booked during that month.
