This hotel is located across from the big field, adjacent to the school. Lots of street noise (with one celebration lasting till after midnight). Small reception area. No elevator, however staff is willing to help. Service was ok without being overly friendly. Nice big room with safe and a/c in room. Sufficient light in room and bathroom. Some smell and a leaking shower partly flooding the bathroom. Breakfast was ok (pre-order), without being great. Huge portions though. You have to pay extra for coffee (French press) and fresh milk. Within walking distance to the beach (you can however not swim there). Lots of shops, restaurants, souvenir stalls and roaming vendors. Decent hotel.
We didn’t expect much, but we were still very dissapointed. The room was small and overlooked a building site - it felt quite depressing. There was mold all over the walls, and we didn’t even use the shower because we felt the bathroom was too dirty. On top of that, the noise from the street and airconditioning unit kept us up all night. We were glad we were only staying for one night. There are definitely better options in El Nido!!
Positives of the hotel: - Location is central- Walking distance to the Beach front, shops, bars, restaurants, Excursion agencies (Excursion tours also offered at hotel - prices are fixed everywhere) and free shuttle bus service to Lio beach very close by at the bus stop on the left as you exit the hotel entrance. - Reception staff (APRIL especially) /Housekeeping were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. - Beds / Pillows were comfortable with clean bedding. - Air Conditioning worked well, however, it was noisy and water drips. - Wifi worked well in the lobby area but not so well in the bedrooms. - Water dispensers provided on every floor accept the fifth floor (Ensure tap water is not used as drinking water or to brush your teeth). - Rooms were cleaned daily and were relatively clean with air freshener sprayed to disguise any bad smells. - Breakfast was okay (Pancakes were my preferred choice) but fruits were limited to banana & occasionally watermelon. Coffee was disgusting. Squash juice is also provided along with lemon water. Negatives of the hotel: - When booking via booking.com we had to secure room booking by paying a 50% deposit via PayPal incurring an additional 6% Charge. This was not advertised and we were notified via an email from Coral Cliff hotel once booking was made on booking.com. So, we proceeded and were charged an additional 6%. On arrival at the hotel we paid the remaining balance, however, if credit card used a further charge is added. Unfortunately, hotel is unable to charge credit card without guests present unlike other hotels. This was an inconvenience. Be cautious!!! - No elevator: definitely not suitable for families or guests with walking difficulties. - Breakfast Choice is limited and guests need to pre-order breakfast options every day at reception. Pancakes /scrambled eggs or omelette were a good choice. - Shower: water was smelly and the bathroom tiles are not clean or hygienic. Bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation. - TV: Channels did not work properly due to no aerials being available. - If rooms key is lost/stolen a penalty charge of Php 500 (£7.63) must be paid. Only one key is provided. - Not all rooms have a private balcony so request corner rooms as these have balconies …
Wife and I stayed here during our visit to El Nido. The hotel is within a few minutes walk from shops and the beach, yet far enough from all the noise usually associated with nightlife etc. We were given a 4th floor room which I imagine would be an issue for others, but fortunately for us, we're active people so do not mind the cardio going up and down the building. Don't fret if you have heavy luggages because their friendly staff will take care of hauling them around for you. You get a free breakfast everyday of your stay here which is a nice touch. As for the rooms, they're airconditioned which is absolutely critical! They're also decent in size and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Perhaps their greatest asset though is their friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. If you're in El Nido, chances are you'd want to go join some sort of Island Hopping tour. You can get this booked with their Front Desk. Special thanks to Arlene and Jong for making sure we were well taken care of! -Mark and Corinne (Canada)…
I hardly ever leave reviews but I just had to for this one. Stayed here for 8 days on the 5th floor with a friend. Let's start off with the pro's: -Location was great. Beach, restaurants and shops were nearby. -Staff (including the boss) were friendly, helpful, accomodating. -Beds were so comfortable -Good WiFi -There are water dispensers on every floor but none on the fifth floor but I can't complain about this really, just go one floor below. -Room was pretty good in size and fairly clean. -Breakfast was good, although fruit options were limited. Now for the cons: -Everyday, you have to choose your breakfast from a list the night before. I don't find this an issue really as it's their policy. But since we were staying for 8 days, I gave them the list of my breakfast for the rest of the stay as I find it convenient this way, it saves time rather than choosing everyday. However the staff lost my list, so I had to choose my breakfast the night before, everyday. I didn't bother re-writing another list. The orders were also mixed up and incomplete a few times. -No elevator. Personally, this wasn't a problem for me as I get to have some cardio. But it could be a problem for others. -Everyday the room smells like sewage! It must be coming from the toilet/pipes or something like that. It was horrible. -Our room view was the wall of the hotel next door which was under construction. You have to position yourself at the corner of the room on the bed to see a little bit of the ocean. -Upon arrival on our first day, the faucet/tap in the sink was very loose when you open and close it. It barely had water running so I had to call maintenance to tighten/fix it. Problem solved after this. -Upon arrival, the shower door was not closing properly. We had to lift it a little bit to ensure it's level and properly closed so that no water will leak in the bathroom, but a lot of water still leaked at the corner of the shower into the bathroom. Didn't get the shower door fixed as it eventually closes anyway, we didn't think it would create a problem in the future. -Now this is the biggest problem/complaint I have. The shower glass + door just collapsed out of nowhere! There's fragments of glass on the floor. Maybe it was not fitted properly in the first place and over time through daily use it caused wear and tear.. I was alone in the room, laying in bed and my friend had gone to do island hopping. Suddenly I hear a very loud, intense noise. Initially I thought something fell on the roof from next door as the hotel was under construction there. I decided to look in the toilet and wow I was so shocked. Might I add that we were incredibly lucky and grateful that none of us were in the toilet that very moment otherwise we could have been severely injured and legal actions might have been considered.…
