Our tour group stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The property was very big and fortunately my room was located in Building #1 (most convenient in my opinion). Hallways were too dark (energy saving??) and it almost felt creepy. My room was on the 5/F and it was very spacious (just under 1,000 SF) with an average view (e.g....

Please forget all experiences of 5 star hotels in the rest of the world. Tibet has its own pace. At the first glance I was surprised but realized immedately what it means to run the best hotel in town. Everbody tries to be helpful and this with great charme. At the bottom line my stay turned out to be very...

Stayed here twice on same trip. During our first visit and after our visit to the smaller cities. The team under the guidance of Alan Jin the GM did a brilliant job. Stanley and Leo at the front desk made sure we were comfortable and provided the perfect guidance. A big PLUS is the 24hr availability of a medical doctor...

Everything was superb. The best is the staff. Very helpful all the time. Delta Air Lines lost my luggage on my way from LAX, but when I arrived to Lhasa, the Concierge and the rest of the staff of the hotel was always very helpful. They helped me calling the airline, tracking the location of my luggage, calling the airport...

We were a family of 3 who stayed at the St Regis Lhasa for 6 nights in total. We had made our reservations through booking.com for a deluxe twin room (at c. HK$1580) inclusive of taxes and breakfast. For the third person supplement, we had to pay HK$760 (inclusive of taxes and breakfast) i.e. total of HK$2340 per triple room...

Wonderful property in all respects. You drive through the streets of Lhasa, then up a little hill, through some gates and arrive at this exquisite property. You feel like you're in a walled kingdom within the city. The property is quite spread out, with little towers sprinkled throughout. You probably have to walk outside to get from your room to...

The hotel is beautiful with views overlooking the Portola Palace. We were thrilled to be upgraded to a wonderful 1BR suite, probably based on Gold Starwood status. Jasmine and Leonid were very helpful at the front desk, but overall service needs improvement, particularly for a St. Regis branded hotel. Food quality was average and restaurant service was very slow. If...

Stayed for 4 nights in December 2016, the hotel was quiet as it is the low season. The room was huge and well maintained. Everything checks out to the standards one would expect of a St. Regis property. The spread for breakfast and dinner was awesome, must try the tibetan butter tea to fuel up for the day ahead. The...

Pretty strange floor plan: one have to navigate through a maze of long corridors. Large suite but something is amiss about its decoration. Very good breakfast with a great selection of Chinese and European dishes.

I'm not quite sure how to rate this hotel. I do think that this is probably the best property in Lhasa; however, I wouldn't go with the expectation of a 5-star property or you may end up a bit disappointed. St. Regis hotels are known to be luxurious, and feature a butler service. Although we did find that the overall...
