I found the location really, really great. Mc Donalds/Mc Cafe was about 20 steps to the left, while ladies market was just 15 steps to the right. Mong kok MTR station, taxi stand, bus stops, Langham Place, 7/11 and lots of other shops and restaurants were all within walking distance. There were four of us and we were able to settle comfortably in the quadruple room. There was barely enough space for our two luggage though. I had to put my handbag and other things on the bed.
Check in was fast. I was just asked to present my passport and fill-out a short form, which took less than 3 minutes. Staff were really friendly. My only complain was that the room smelled of cigarettes at night. The smell bothered me and disturbed my sleep.
There were at least 5 other hotels/hostels in the same building, including New Mongkok Hotel. Really found the idea of several hotels in one building (but different floors) a novel one.
Anyway, the hotel was good enough especially for the price we paid (PhP7,400+ or around HK$640/night). 4 sets of towels & toothbrushes,a bar of soap, and a kettle were provided. The bathroom was small, as expected, with the shower head installed just above the bowl. One has to be careful though with the shower. Even though we turned-off the hot water, very hot water still sprouted from the shower every time we turned it on. I had to let the water flow for at least 10 seconds before using it to shower.
All in all, we had an okay stay and we felt safe in the place. Special thanks to the staff who were the most friendly HK residents we've met during our stay.

We stayed for one night in April 2015 in between flights.

The location of the hotel was ideal for a quick stay in Hong Kong as it was a couple of minutes walk from a bus stop for the airport bus.

It is also only a few minutes walk to Mong Kok MTR which will take you into central Hong Kong Island in 15-20min.

The hotel sent us very clear instructions on ways to get to the hotel and directions once off the bus, they were invaluable in the busy streets of the area.

The hotel itself was great, although staff only spoke Chinese they were very friendly, all smiles and laughter.

The room was clean and the bathroom looked newly tiled. We were given a triple room, the double bed was more like an oversized single and if you are about 6ft your legs will hang out the bottom.

The room was small with little room once luggage op was on the floor, this is to be expected in Hong Kong at this price range from our other experiences.

The hallway and room at night were very quiet, even on the Friday night we were there.

Plenty to do in the area, be it food and drink, shopping or the many markets. All at your doorstep.

Would stay again for a short stay, great location for seeing all Kowloon has to offer and good connections to airport and Hong Kong Island.

OK - to be fair, and I didn't realize this until my 2nd to last day there, Fortune Hotel is in Kowloon. Most of what you will see and visit is in Kowloon. Hong Kong is a different island on the other side of Victoria Bay. OOOps... so, Fortune Hotel is dead easy to find. They give you excellent directions. I had a double room, which means my bed was about queen size, pretty much the same size as the room. I had four "squares" of space between the door, bed , and into the toilet area. Since I only used the space to sleep, I didn't mind the no extra space. My room had NO WINDOWS. I peeked into some of the other rooms on the 9th floor and they had windows. But the hotel DOES have a lift. Fortune Hotel is in MongKok and that is the center of everything! The Ladies Night Market is about 2 blocks away. Sneaker Street is a block away. 3 Blocks away is a street with every good food imaginable! At night, the main street gets blocked off for a night market. Fortune Hotel is right there! Check in is on the 5th floor. The lady that runs it is a doll. She doesn't speak much English, if any. I was able to check in with loads of smiles, my printed out sheet, and pointing. She showed me to my room with smiles, pointing, laughter, and a hug. The air conditioner in the room worked perfectly. It is loud. But will cool the room. The shower is your typical Asian type shower. .. a shower head attached to a water unit over the toilet. Very small. Very cramped. Takes the normal 5 or so minutes for water to become hot. The hotel provided towels, bathing gel, travelling toothbrush, and two pairs of shower shoes. The price is reasonable, a great bargain for everything you get. And the best, free wi-fi in the room! Always available! I will definitely stay here again when visiting Hong Kong.

This is one of the cheaper hotels in its category in Kowloon and they accept payment on arrival. While the brochure says that payment has to be in cash, they now seem to accept credit card too. Contact the owner before arrival and she will give you many good tips on how to get there etc. The rooms are small, but the hotel has an excellent location, it is safe and secure, the service is personal and the lady owner is a soul of a person. On checkout she even went with us and our luggage to show us where to catch a taxi for the train to mainland China. The whole family only had praise for the kind and caring treatment we experienced.

I stayed here one night. The hotel sent me clear instructions for finding the hotel, which were helpful. It is in the 5th floor of the Wing Wah Building with other floors also operating as separate hotels. There are two adjacent elevators serving the building - only the left hand one goes to the 5th floor.

My room was small but sufficient. I am 6'/185 cm tall and would have appreciated a slightly longer bed, but I slept fine and it was reasonably quiet. The shower was in the same space as the toilet and both were very clean. The room had tea and coffee making facilities but no tea or coffee. The free WIFI was great.

The hotel staff/proprietor were as friendly and helpful as they could be, given that I cannot speak Cantonese. They lent me a power adapter and let me leave my luggage with them for most of the day.

If Mong Kok is your kind of place, then the location is great, smack in the middle of it, a couple of minutes walk from the MRT, with Ladies Market and lots of jewellers a stone's throw away.

What I like about the stay is, it's location. It's close to almost everything. '

1.There is McDonald near by.
2. There is an Indian restaurant near by , couple of street across.
3. Staff arevery honest.

Don't Likes:
1. Room was super small. I could see the partition wall of the other room extended to my room.
2. Lift service was very slow.
3. Staff doesn't speak understand English.
4. AC was not that great.
Verdict:
A couple can stay a week there w/o much incontinence.

We live near HK and often try out new places to stay. We have sound some terrible ones in the Mong Kok area but in Fortune Hotel we have found a place we really like. It is super clean and newly renovated. Staff is very friendly and helpful, though they can't speak English (we speak Chinese with them). I highly recommend this place. Easy to find. Great location. Clean. Only downside is....it's tight. We are used to it in HK but many expats aren't. Get used to it. All places are tight. You'll have a 3 ft square to shower in and no walking room but it is CLEAN and comfortable. We stayed in the family room with our 4 kids.

Spent 10 nights with my mum and niece (06 yrs) in May17 and it was one of the best decision ever - so close to shopping, restaurants and transportation. The room was clean and while small was sufficient for our needs. We even found a laundromat close by which was very handy. Definitely will stay here again. A clean budget hotel with good security.

This hotel was located nearby to Mongkok Station! Easy access to anywhere. From outside the building it might look a bit old, but surprisingly inside is so clean! Very nice room with private bathroom, small but it common in hong kong. Quite enjoy my stay here except the location. It will be great if staying here on weekday, as weekend is so crowded and you can't even walk around mongkok. Overall, this is really great hotel with friendly staff!
