The location at Causeway Bay was excellent for our 4 night trip to Hong Kong. Turn left immediately out of exit E of the subway and your in the accommodation. The room was tiny. Hard mattress of course as it is Asia and nowhere to hang clothes so impossible to unpack. You sit on the toilet to shower (or straddle... More

I have stayed here many times and although this isn't high class accommodation the location is fantastic. Walking distance to Wan Chai and just around the corner to Victoria Park. I was living in Hong Kong at the time teaching English and Mrs Chan gave me some very fair rates for a long-term stay. Zoie, Mrs Chan's daughter was great... More

I booked single room for 4 nights. The location is very convenient, only a few meter from causewaybay exit E MTR station. The room is small but clean. The price is ok for budget travelling if you plan to explore Hongkong whole day and only use the room for sleep.

My family of 5 stayed in Sun Kong hostel for a week. It was recommended by colleagues who stayed there previously. Ms Peggy the owner/manager was very accommodating and warm, a rarity in this city. We had a spacious room (by Hong Kong standards) with 6 beds. Strong hot shower, microwave and clean towels everyday. The best part of it... More

I am a local and had my girlfriend who was coming to town. I booked a single bed for her, called and confirmed the price with boss lady. Knowing how shady these places are, I went there in person a day before her arrival, all is good so far. The next day I arrived with my gf and found out... More

arrival and did not have my reservation. after 1 hour you decide to visit an accommodation (most expensive) in front, forcing me to return to the 'morrow. I had an 'other booking the following week and found that they did not ask for a refund when I threaten to send me away. sucks

As we arrived late at night in HK, we had only the 15 INN / Sun Kong Hostel left. The woman from the hostel picked us up at the Causeway way station, so we didn´t have to search for - very friendly. The house was a bit run down, but the location is perfect in the Causeway Bay district. Unfortunately,... More

I stayed there a few nights ago and the rooms were even tinier than expected in HKK and they were dirty. The staff was extremely rude, they didn't even make any effort to speak English and tried to throw us out of our room before checkout. To top it off, they wouldn't do (paid) laundry for us!

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.

“I travelled to this place in 2011 Feb. I wont call it hostel/motel. I would say, more like a home stay. they take a unit of apartment and split it into smaller rooms. outside the hallyou can see MAINLAND ppl lying behind the curtain (either they work there or just rent a "table" to sleep) it feels weird to share the the space with stranger who can tell your in & out time .. but after staying a few nights, you will get used to it. stay there because it is really strategic location, just 2 mins from a subway exit and 8 mins to the time square. you can shop till 12 and walk back to hotel.”
