Pros:Good location, close to subway also. Cons: Our room looked nothing like the website. Very run down with mould. Cockroaches! Awful bathroom with broken shower and no sliding door or curtain so water went everywhere. Staff weren't very helpful/nice and English is poor. Lockers are only big enough for a small bag. Building is constantly busy and it's very noisy....

Dear Guest, Greetings from Ah Shan Hostel ! After reading your review I would like to offer my most abject apologies regarding the condition of your room as it is clearly apparent that it was not prepared to our usual exacting standards prior to your occupancy. I have already had firm words with our Cleaning Ladies over this matter and...

A bit difficult to find. My room was simple but everything I needed. Bed and a small bathroom with toilet, shower and sink. Friendly staff. Strong wifi. The location is very good. Restaurants, markets and Metro nearby. The elevator is often full so need to plan 5 minutes extra. I will use this hostel for my next visit to Hong...

Budget hotels which is strategically located in Mongkok - accessible to subway, with shopping mall, street market, restaurant and etc. Experience the greatest winter/cold season in Hong Kong. Stayed in January 2016. No heater and water is cold. Interesting experience and the price is 5 star.

It's lucky hostel for myself. I stayed here for 2 nights couple of years ago and was not that bad. It's typical Mong Kok, Kowloon hostel. Free wi-fi and iron for clothes but bit small room. Situated of main Street. Staff was good.

We stayed in a room for 4 persons. Typical small room and bathroom. But beds are high so you can put your luggage under the bed. Reception is open 0800H to 2400H. Contact them ahead of time if you're planning to check-in early morning. Check-out is no problem, since you can just drop the room keys in a red bag...

I got the cheapest deal for 4 rooms and because it's cheap, I expected less since we only need a place to sleep to. When we arrived late at night, a very friendly and accommodating Andy assisted us at check-in and made sure that everything is in order. Location is very convenient as it is near mtr station, mall, night...

We stayed here for 3 nights and paid £100, the private room we stayed in was small which we were expecting and had a private small bathroom. It was all very dirty, there was hair all over the room and the sheets were covered in stains like it had not even been looked at since the last person or persons...

Ah, it’s Hong Kong … what do you expect? Suffice to say, it’s near good eating and transports … and loads of shopping areas. Typical old HK apartment housing in Kowloon converted to inns and hostels. So expect small rooms and long queues for the slow elevator. It’s much better and improved on the HK island side though more expensive...

The location of the hostel is great if you opt to stay around Mongkok area. It's very accessible from the MTR and bus stations, just around 3 minutes walk to either of the stations. The elevator is not crowded so it's convenient to go up to the hostel even if it's on the 14th floor. I was able to stay...

Staying in Mong Kok

Neighbourhood Profile
Mong Kok
It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as “flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.
