We stayed at Dorsett Wan Chai for 8 days and had a good experience. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were also friendly. I would suggest you bare in mind the different views you get from standard room to the next level up. With standard you will always get a view of the cemetery next to the hotel although...

Our family of 5 children aged, 10, 8, and 4 stayed in a family room at this hotel. Although it was a family room, it was very small and was not a good choice for 2 night stay as we were all getting on each other's nerves. The room was facing directly into the streets and was very loud. We...

Dear Laura, thank you for your review. We are sorry that your stay at Dorsett Wanchai was not as pleasant as expected. First of all, we regret that there was temporary maintenance work carried by the Government nearby our hotel that brought you inconvenience during the stay. The Dorsett is a wonderful hotel. The free transport buses they run save you a fortune getting around HK and are exceptionally run. The drivers, check in staff, concierge and bell boys all deserve a special mention for their professionalism. I will stay here again for sure. The buffet breakfast is very good but could be improved even more with...

A bit out of the way , you go out the front of the hotel to a maze of roads and roadworks , it's hard to get anywhere if you want to walk and no local shops. Going out the back way will get you to downtown but you will need to use your navigator. The Metro doesnt seem to...

Very Dirty carpet and bath towels are dubious. Had to remind housekeeping to vacuum the carpet repeatedly. Failed basic cleanliness requirement of any hotel. A far cry from when it was Cosmopolitan Hotel in 2005 when we first visited.......Won't be back again for sure.

After our AirBnB location fell short of our expectations, we decided to find a hotel instead. With the HK Rubgy 7s in full swing, we were lucky to find the Dorsett at a reasonable price. Everything as advertised: clean, well outfitted rooms, responsive staff, decent location, at a reasonable price. Getting a cab from here was sometimes difficult, but the staff stick with you and help through it. Good option if you're on a budget.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while travelling alone. I stayed on the 12th floor, windows were frosted so no view and windows did not open. Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
