Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Not what we expected of the Ramada brand. Stayed in this hotel ten years ago when the hotel was acceptable. This time we were disappointed. We booked a double but were given a twin room . We moved the two singles together revealing a dirty carpet underneath. I found a vacuum cleaner to clean the floor myself. I know space is a premium in HK and expected a small room but this was badly laid out. There were no cupboards just two hooks on the wall for hanging clothes. A mini mini fridge, the size of a shoe box hummed noisily next to a kettle both balanced on the window sill. Mattress rock hard. But on the positive shower good and hot, bedclothes clean , in a good location and it was cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. I’ve stayed in smaller bedrooms in UK, Z hotels, which are far better ergonomically.

The room was small and dated, elevators were slow and always packed plus cant say I was happy with the over-all service either. Housekeeping and front desk didnt always pick-up calls. The good points? They had one receptionist - Annie - that went above and beyond. Amazing woman! Ramada shes the one staff that made me feel like she was happy to be there and assist me. Also, the location is close to the train and the area is vibrant. Walk around and you will find alot of hidden gems! Annie, again thank you if you get to read this, you were truly amazing!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! As soon as you walk into the room, you smell the mould. Room is a box with a tiny gap between bed and walls - nowhere to put luggage. No facilities for storage of clothes never mind a coat hanger. Curtains don’t open properly & carpets are covered in stains. Lift entrance opens onto the street and doesn’t require a key card to activate so anyone can walk in. Bathroom covered in mould. Shower is more like a wet room connected to the toilet & the sink is in the bedroom? Had planned to stay for 2 weeks, wouldn’t even stay for 1 night. When I explained to the Hotel staff, he suggested that ‘maybe I just tell the booking agent that my plans have changed’ instead of even simply apologising for the diabolical state of the room. The manager refused to allow free cancellation AFTER receiving pictures of the mould so had to pay 2 nights to terminate the stay. They say you get what you pay for but my new hotel is not too dissimilar in price and is a world away in standard. Don’t waste your money or compromise your mental health by confining yourself to a mouldy box. Hotel is in serious need of a clean & renovation

The hotel was in a convenient area, a short taxi ride from the central train station. Check in is on the 5th floor, which isn't sign posted and the lifts cannot cope with the amount of people using them, especially when some are out of service. This makes for a long wait for the lift! The room is small, dark and old fashioned with no wardrobe. However is does have a fridge and hairdryer. The room is cleaned daily and bottled water is supplied. The rooftop swimming pool was closed and we were unable to gain access to the rooftop, to check on the view, as it was blocked so that you cannot get out of the lift. Luggage can be left in the lobby after check out.

Wasted a lot of money booking two nights here. I checked out and booked another hotel for 50% more which was a five star. This place is a 2 star at best. Just awful. Looks ok from the outside. You enter at ground level and take the lift to the fifth floor. The reception area is unwelcoming, sullen and smelt of cigarette smoke. I had 4 receptionists yet it took them 25 minutes to check me in. Kept asking each other questions, endlessly keying in to a screen, printing off multiple invoices and eventually allocating me a room on the 28th floor next to the lifts. Awful check in experience with staff who came across as if they could not care less and they could not. The room was absolutely horrible. Tiny, with stained red carpet, old flock wallpaper, a miniscule en-suite with toilet and plastic shower curtain, a sink with dodgy grouting and a wall mounted plastic hairdryer that must be from the 1960s. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I got about 2 hours’ sleep as I kept being woken up by people coming in and by the very noisy 1970s air con unit. The bed was ok and bedding clean. No wardrobe, just 2 hooks on the wall to hang things up against them. Old gold curtains. The carpet outside the room in the corridors was brown and stained. It was like staying in a 1960s/70s time warp in hostel accommodation. I just left and checked in elsewhere. A horrible experience that I want to forget. I will certainly never book into any Ramada hotel again. Ramada should be embarrassed by this hotel. I would not pay any more the 50 HKD a night for it and only then if it was the only hotel available. It needs to be totally gutted and refurbished from top to bottom. Avoid at all costs.

Other than the location, This place is a dump. It starts with the long waiting times for the overcrowded elevators. The rooms are a reluctant from the 60s. Very very small..the toilet seat is right in front of bathtub..no room for legs/feet. Mattress hard as rock. My room was dirty...leftover sanitary products on floor. Internet was usually in the 50-70kmps range...waiting 10-15 seconds for a page to load. I booked a Deluxe harbor view...nothing Deluxe at all..and the view is obstructed by a massive building. There you have it.

Waiting for elevator over an hour each time. Had to walk down 35 floors every day. Room too small and unable to fit in bathroom to use toilet as the sink took up more than half the bathroom space. Rooms claustrophobic even with harbour view.

Very very very small room. Toilet is next to the tub when I shut down my knees, actually touch the tub and I’m not that tall about 5 foot six so I’m relatively short. Hotel is in need of her total renovation looks like 60s decor. But on the plus side, it has a good view of the harbor.

I stayed for two nights. The room is really small. Okay, I understand, because the room price is cheap. The reception was not nice to me. They yell at me! Oh my god, It’s bad experience for me! Please yell at your family, not me. Never come back again.
