I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong for one night before heading to Macau. Contrary to what photos of the hotel show, this property looks fairly tired in person. For the $500/night the hotel charges, there are definitely better, newer options. The hotel is located in Wanchai but not terribly close to some of the restaurants and nice coffee...

Let's start with what stands out: the service at the hotel is fantastic. Every single person there seems happy to be there and to help. The hotel itself is beautiful. The executive room we stayed in was very nice with a phenomenal view. We had dinner in the One Harbour Road restaurant and although expensive it was a very nice...

I choose this hotel cause while I travel to Asia, Grand Hyatt Chain is my only choice. This hotel is really great, even one of the best in Asia in terms of the service. Especially the front desk staff is really helpful and attentive. Further the room prices for beginning of Feb 2017 was acceptable comparing with the other 5...

I stayed 9-13 January at Room 2922, which overlooks the Kowloon and the harbor.........was pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a sea-facing room. The room itself was luxurious, the entire "wall" overlooking the sea was a glass window, affording me unimpeded views of the HK Convention Centre downstairs, and of course, the sea, the skies and Kowloon. The furnishings...

I went with my granddaughter and we were looked after so well. The breakfast was in a wonderful room - light and extremely well set out, and so much choice with food and all a very high standard. Plenty of very good restaurants in the hotel, and the 3 we went to were all terrific - and so was the...

We would like to commend Grand Hyatt staff for their wonderful service. 1) They noticed my partner's birthday and sent up a Birthday cake to our room. Very thoughtful 2) I fell on my first night in HK and injured my knees. We requested the on-duty staff named Dominic to help us buy some Bruise cream (since the Hotel did...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
