I have stayed at the Mandarin Hotel in Hong Kong twice. Last May 2013 for a birthday celebration and again at Christmas of the same year. The best breakfast item is the air whipped yogurts, I could have eaten it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Superior service, outstanding ambience and with the Chinnery best bar for me in Hong Kong.

Absolutely loved everything about this hotel, starting from the door man, reception staff, lobby, the room and the excellent service. Didn't get to go to any of the restaurants except the lobby cafe for breakfast which was great. The hotel is really well located and close to many attractions to visit. Loads of places to shop in the area as...

The moment you walk into the Mandarin Oriental you realise that you have made the right choice, it certainly exceeds all expectations. The level of service we experienced is second to none! We stayed for a total of 7 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. We were picked up from the Airport by the Concierge service provided which...

Stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip in early October. Room was well supplied and very comfortable. Staff provide superb service and are very friendly and helpful. We stayed while the protests were ongoing at Admiralty so the roads around the hotel were blocked off to traffic but on departure they still managed to get our transprt to...

One reason I don't live in Hong Kong is I couldn't justify staying at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. That maybe a bit outlandish a statement but it's how I feel. The relaxation begins as I enter the building. The familiarity of the place is reassuring the staff manage to continue to do the impossible and improve service. My only disappointment...

The Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong is faultless..we have been "on the road" for 30+ years and this is the best hospitality experience we have ever had!!! The rooms are beautifully appointed and the service is so good it is like the all the staff have a "sixth sense" and seventh, eighth, ninth sense etc etc!! We have been fortunate...

I will never forget how impeccable the service is. I used the ATM at the Hong Kong shanghai Bank across the street from the hotel on a Saturday. . I pressed the wrong buttons and long story short the machine swallowed my card! All the color drained from my face! I mentioned it to the bank staff who told me...

I've been fortunate to stay at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong the last few times I've been there on business and the hotel is an absolute oasis in the centre of Hong Kong. As many of the other reviews have pointed out the service sets it apart, with just the right approach to superb customer service without being pretentious...

I stayed here on a business trip during the first week of October when the protest was still going in full swing. Everyone from reception to the doormen apologized for the city's appearance and the disruption that it caused. Honestly, I barely noticed the protests but definitely appreciated the sentiment even though it wasn't necessary. Everyone I encountered at the...

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
