*My wife heard one of the kitchen staff(a tall chinese & bit old guy) in our breakfast buffet said something about “why there are filipinos here“ because im wearing a Philippines jacket that's why he knew but we normally dont look like filipinos. Hopefully, the kitchen staff should be more cautious with guests and should be trained more about customer service (I fully understand staff in the kitchen as most of them are hot headed but in a 5 star hotel they shouldn't be showing it). The servers/receptionist are excellent aside from the kitchen staff. I worked/managed in F&B field before & did some part-time in hotels as well so I know some of the system basically.

*The air-conditioner in our room 1058 is quite hot... min. temperature is 21 deg. Even if you set it to 18(or I just don't know how to set it). The room is excellent (hopefully the tv should be updated wherein we can log in our own netflix account or usb drive if we want to watch movies in our room. Great idea with the movie room & switch room.

*We enjoyed the selection of food as we do this staycation from time to time to relax & spend quality time w/ our kids as we love eating too. Concierge, front desk & room service are excellent and quick.

I made my booking through KKday app. The package was highly recommended. I requested to stay at a higher level and I had an option to pick a seaview room rather than a normal room but with late check-out at 4pm. Of course I picked the seaview room and I was satisfied with my room being at 17/F. The room was clean and was spacious.
However, there were two things I wanted to mention about, the window glass was pretty dirty with lots of rain marks stains left outside. It really needs a good old wash otherwise it ruins the beautiful seaview when you look out and while taking photos especially at night.
Another thing was the lack of USB pluck in room. I would have thought this will be well equipped in modern hotel. Just glad I took my own pluck so my phone could still get charged during the stay.
Overall the customer service was highly recommended too. I really liked the male staff who did our in room dinner dinning service. He really does have a heart to do his job well and you can tell that he enjoys working here. He really did cared about whether we enjoyed our dinner and he also let us know we must take the lobster first while the dish is hot. It was a heartwarming service with table being setup and all food being served hot as it was something I worried about before my stay. But i was a little disappointed with the guy who served us in room high tea. The tea arrived within the timing as requested but he didn't help with the table layout. He just walked in with the tea tray and waited us to clear the table up for him to lay the tray on top. I was expecting a friendlier customer service than that.
High tea tasted fine savory food tasted better than the other which I didn't finish myself. Hope the high tea food taste can be improved. Dinner was excellent as said above and food was fresh and tasty. Breakfast was also good in its food varieties and taste. Chinese food section and cauliflower soup was unexpectedly tasty. The kitchen did a great job and customer service was also great in the other hand. Food being refilled quickly and finished food dishes being picked up by the staff in a quick speed.
Overall 95% satisfied with Marco Polo staycation, so thank you for your offer and hard work. Hope the minor things could get improved for future staycation.

My friend and I stayed in a harbour view room at 15 floor and the view is spectacular, definitely worth to pay a little bit extra to get a harbour view room (and request a high floor if possible).

We stayed on Monday night so the hotel wasn’t too crowded. In a few occasions we passed by there during weekend and the queue for check in was incredibly long, so we try to avoid weekend/ public holiday and try the hotel during weekday, and we did have an enjoyable experience with Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel.

As predicted, check in was smooth during weekday. The room is big and spacious but the design is old and a bit outdated. The bathroom comes with bathtub but it does not have separate shower room/ toilet. The king size bed is big but the pillows were too soft. We called the service hotline at 1 am to request two neck support pillows only we managed to get into sleep.

The continental club doesn’t have a view but it is spacious and the food was tasty. They only had two staffs in the afternoon and one staff for cocktail session so I can see they were quite short-handed. For cocktail session they only serve red, white and sparking wine, not sure whether they will take order for other type of alcohol. The desserts during afternoon tea and cocktail were good. Overall I would say my club lounge experience was satisfying.

The breakfast at Cafe Marco was good too, plenty of choices and quite tasty. The gym room only allows two people to use at the same time, not sure how can they cope with this requirement during weekend. The pool was close during my visit but as I can recall, the pool is not heated and doesn’t have a view.

I would say the highlight of the stay is still the harbour view, not to mention it is very convenient as the harbour city is just right below the hotel. The continental club is up to standard. I would recommend this hotel for a short and quick staycation during non-peak day.

Being a regular at some of the outlets at Marco Polo Hotel, we decided to enjoy a staycation and book a suite for the weekend.
Unfortunately the overall experience was far below my expectations except dinner at Cucina which was great as usual.
Staff at check in was very friendly and overall the experience was very promising but after that, all went wrong.
The suite was smelling of old, probably not refreshed, no a/c on, no flowers or amenities inside and with a partial view of a wall which is not expected to a Marco Polo Elite member.
Swimming Pool was impossible to be used... too many kids jumping and making noise and no one to manage them... i understand family but same option should be offered for couples or single travelers.
Breakfast was chaotic.. only Cafè Marco open, sitting outside the restaurant close to a shop, buffet not replaced.
100% full the hotel? Why Lounge closed? Why no alternative offered?
But the worst surprise was at check out when the poor friendly receptionist got embarrassed when I have presented a voucher from my Membership.
Voucher clearly was giving me the opportunity to have a discount on the top of the best available rate and price found for the suite.
But at the it wasn’t like this cause was not possible to use it and my voucher was merged with another offer.
So left with a good dinner, some friendly staff but overall more than a bitter taste and nobody said anything, even when I have tried to explain my doubts.

We stayed in Marco Polo HongKong Hotel with a Full board package: Buffet Breakfast, Afternoon tea set & 3-course dinner. The hotel room is relatively old but quite large. The sea-view room faces the Victoria Harbour. It is a pity that the soundproofing is not good. There will be lively cars in the parking lot on the rooftop of Ocean Terminal. Fortunately, there are no cars in midnight. Lobster dinner is also good, but afternoon tea and breakfast food really have a lot of room for improvement. On the contrary, the service is very good. Housekeeping has a quick response, asking for more water to be delivered quickly, even faster than some five or six-star hotels.

Have great promotion offer, which enables converting the cost of room to food. Delicious lunch at Cucina, especially the Linguine with Mediterranean Red Prawns. YUMMY!
The room is old fashioned, but very nice harbour view. Staff are friendly and considerated when we found the bathtub is hard for our situation, he suggested to change the room with a shower cubicle instead. A small act may make the overall stay to be excellent ,if they can remove the "birthday"tag on the complimentary cake they served us, they told us it was for our anniversary complimentary gift. But, still very appreciate for it. However, the mattress is not very comfortable.

Stayed on the top floor facing the harbour (Central / IFC). The views were amazing but be aware that I'm assuming most/all rooms have this horizontal structural beam outside their windows that cuts your view into 2. The rooms are very spacious, great if you have plenty of luggage or shopping bags. After all, HK's main shopping district is just downstairs. We got a cheap package that included a delicious in-room set dinner plus breakfast buffet and in-room afternoon tea. Must point out that Ms Sonia Wong was very helpful; most of the catering staff were friendly as well.

My wife and i stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon 20 years ago and has special to us. Last year i stayed here and it seemed as though the attitude in service and hotel disrepair was taking over. This stay however was very different. From the doorman to the bell staff to the font desk everyone was very attentive and positive. They even provded me a room upgarde without having to request one. Front desk recognized my gold status and offered me a lot of options including a breakfast package. The rooms do seem lightly outdatred and need upgrades but are sufficient. Some of these needed upgrades include TV's that adjust left and right in the bedroom when the TV does not directly face the bed or desk, showers that are not in the bathtub, USB electical plugs for charging phones & tablets and perhaps electrical powered black out shades for travelers coming from ohter time zones who require sleep at various hours.

We were allowed to check in earlier than the checkin time and managed to book the Game Zone and Kids Playroom the same afternoon. My children had fun. We had lunch buffet and the next morning's breakfast buffet at Cafe Marco and were very satisfied with the variety and quality of food, as well as the service and family friendliness. The hotel was also very family friendly, added a single bed to our room and provided shampoo, baby bath and even small size slippers for my kids. We're very happy and enjoyed our short stay. Reserved a nice package in Marco Polo HK . The package included dinner and breakfast which we don't have to reserve a table anywhere else on that busy Valentines Day.

Check in process is very smooth. Room layout is very nice and spacious. Understand that is a hotel with quite a long history, there are reasonable wear and tear on the furniture. Comparing to our last stay in Marco Polo Gateway, I prefer Marco Polo HK.

We ordered in room dining for our dinner set at around 6:30pm but sadly it did not arrive until very very late. Checked with hotel and found they missed my order. Thats absolutely unacceptable indeed. After 10 minites, the restaurant manager Rooster brought the serve cart with our dinner dishes to our room. Frankly, we were very disappointed beforehand, but Rooster showed his sincerest apology and served us professionally. The service recovery is fair and we did not raise a complaint. Anyway, the hotel should look into their understaff issue on festival days. All staff are nice and polite, I trust that the incident was just caused by the overwhelming work loads on festival days.

The room is quiet and bed is comfortable. We had a good sleep and went to Cafe for our breakfast. Food is fair.

Overall experience is still satisfied. Even the room layout is not gorgeous and there was an incident happened, the nice food and good service still made me a pleasant stay. Specially thanks to Moon, Angela and Errol for always checking on my satisfaction,I am good with the excellent services provided from you all =)

Is this hotel suitable for or going to Macau and getting to the Katui strip ?

Yes. Our Macau jet ferry left from the terminal about 500m from the hotel. The other HK terminal is a short ride to HK on the star ferrhy and a 6oom walk to the jet ferry terminal.
